Security in human identification system has become a major concern nowadays, especially for sendi... more Security in human identification system has become a major concern nowadays, especially for sending information verbally. Therefore, the need of protecting the internal factor especially human speech is a main objective in this study. The characteristics of the human speech using several methods has been continuously practiced are outlined, for instance ceptral analysis, linear prediction coding, and the Pitch Synchronous Overlap-Add (PSOLA) method. This paper described the used of frequency sample variation, FSV technique to transform speech signal to a deeper, higher or lower tone. The analysis using PSOLA method with this technique and Matlab as GUI has been performed. The developed system is capable of transforming the input speech into three types of output speech namely male, female and child. The results show that the system is successfully and effectively portray different people with realistic gender changes to conceal the identity. It is said to be a potential system for any kind of security particularly by disguising the character of the voice. The alterations with other voice variable are going to be a further development.

However, to have a neural network system which is able to provide 100% accuracy performance and providing optimum value structure is difficult. In this project, multilayer perceptron neural network with Backpropagation as its algorithm has been trained and tested for its accuracy. The multilayer perceptron neural network has been tested using gravel data which have been categorized into 6 categories and gives 82.90% of the network classifying performance for optimum structure with 16 hidden node.

A Light Emitting Diode (LED) is a semiconductor device which converts electricity into light. LED... more A Light Emitting Diode (LED) is a semiconductor device which converts electricity into light. LEDs are preferred over incandescent lamps because of their long life and their availability in various colors and brightness levels. The aim of this paper is to present the development of vehicle lighting system using LED application. In this system, high power LEDs type is chosen as automobile headlight model and controller circuit using microcontroller is considered. The LEDs are driven using buck converter circuit with appropriate Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) signal whereby the PWM signals are generated by microcontroller. The system is divided into 2 modes of operation, manual and automatic. The automatic mode of operation will be operating when the LDR senses the level of light brightness whereby the level of brightness is proportion to duty cycle of PWM. Meanwhile, for the manual mode of operation, 3 switches which are SW2 with 20% duty cycle, SW3 with 40% duty cycle and SW3 with 80% duty cycle are developed. The result shows that the maximum brightness of LED is about 127.6 Lumen at 80% of duty cycle for manual operation mode. Besides, by varying the duty cycle of PWM signal for both modes of operation, manual and automatic, LED brightness can be controlled.

Thus, it is important to follow-up and monitor its condition. Heart rate (HR) and blood oxygen saturation (SpO 2) are important indicators directly related to heart-pulmonary system. Monitoring of HR and SpO 2 offers us a good indication of heart functionality. Therefore, it is crucial to design and develop a homemade inexpensive device for measuring HR and SpO 2. Pulse Oximeter (PO) is an opto-electronic non-invasive medical instrument capable of measuring and recording the changes of HR and SpO 2 at the finger tip. In this paper we will demonstrate the overall process involved in the development of a portable (PO) system which can be used for health condition monitoring or for educational and research purposes.
Penghasilan sesebuah konkrit bergantung kepada kandungan agregat (batu baur) yang terkandung di d... more Penghasilan sesebuah konkrit bergantung kepada kandungan agregat (batu baur) yang terkandung di dalam konkrit tersebut. Bentuk agregat-agregat yang terdapat di dalam konkrit dikatakan mempengaruhi kualiti konkrit yang akan dihasilkan. Agregat yang mempunyai bentuk yang dikatakan elok (well-shaped) akan menghasilkan konkrit yang bermutu tinggi dengan mengurangkan kadar air kepada simen di dalam konkrit. Sebaliknya, bentuk agregat-agregat yang buruk (poor-shaped) selalunya menyebabkan penghasilan sesebuah konkrit itu memerlukan kadar air kepada simen yang tinggi. Kebiasaannya, kualiti sesebuah konkrit ditentukan dengan mengira kadar peratusan kandungan agregat yang elok kepada agregat yang buruk yang terkandung di dalam konkrit. Masalah penentuan secara manual ini ialah lambat, terlalu subjektif dan memerlukan tenaga buruh yang ramai, sekaligus menyebabkan tidak efektif dan mahal. Dalam usaha untuk mengurangkan masalah ini, penyelidikan yang dilakukan telah memfokuskan kepada pembangunan sistem pengecaman pintar bentuk agregat berasaskan rangkaian neural. Sistem yang dibangunkan menggunakan teknik pemprosesan imej digital dan rangkaian neural untuk mengkelaskan bentuk-bentuk agregat yang diperolehi kepada dua kategori, "elok" dan "buruk". Sistem ini merangkumi dua bahagian utama iaitu pengekstrakan ciri-ciri imej dan pengecaman. Dalam bahagian pengekstrakan ciri-ciri imej, ciri-ciri yang dipertimbangkan ialah momen Zernike, momen Hu, saiz dan ukurlilit. Pengekstrakan ciri-ciri momen Zernike dan momen Hu dikira berdasarkan kepada saiz dan ukurlilit objek. Disebabkan momen Hu peringkat tinggi lebih sensitif kepada hingar, maka hanya momen Hu peringkat pertama dan kedua sahaja digunakan. Bagi ciri momen Zernike pula, nilai momen yang digunakan ialah jumlah penambahan nilai momen Zernike dari tertib 0 hingga tertib 4 kerana ia memberikan keputusan perkelompokan yang lebih baik. Dalam bahagian pengecaman, rangkaian neural yang dibangunkan ialah rangkaian hibrid berbilang lapisan perceptron (HMLP). Rangkaian tersebut telah dilatih menggunakan algoritma ralat ramalan berulang terubahsui (MRPE) dan memberikan prestasi pengecaman sebanyak 85.53%. Ini membuktikan sistem pengecaman bentuk agregat secara automatik yang dibangunkan berjaya mengkelaskan bentuk-bentuk agregat kepada dua kategori iaitu "elok" dan "buruk". Sebagai langkah awal untuk menghasilkan sistem pengecaman bentuk agregat mudah alih, sistem pengecaman menggunakan mikro pengawal juga telah dihasilkan dan dibuktikan keberkesanan dan kebolehpercayaannya. Sistem pengecaman yang berasaskan mikro pengawal ini telah menghasilkan peratus pengecaman yang sama nilainya dengan peratus pengecaman yang diperolehi menggunakan komputer peribadi.

Moments have been used in all sorts of object classification systems based on image. There are lo... more Moments have been used in all sorts of object classification systems based on image. There are lots of moments studied by many researchers in the area of object classification and one of the most preference moments is the Zernike moment. In this paper, the performance of object classification using the Zernike moment has been explored. The classifier based on neural networks has been used in this study. The results indicate the best performance in identifying the aggregate is at 91.4% with a ten orders of the Zernike moment. This encouraging result has shown that the Zernike moment is a suitable moment to be used as a feature of object classification systems.

This disease caused by the abnormal bilirubin level in the blood. Jaundice is a condition in which a person's skin and the whites of the eyes are discolored yellow due to an increased level of bile pigments in the blood resulting from liver disease. Therefore,it is essential to detect this disease earlier to avoid more chronic disease in future. There are many ways to detect the jaundice that include one of the newborn screening (NBS) test which are by see the physical of baby and by measure the bilirubin level in baby’s blood. This paper presents a portable and economical bilirubin meter that successfully measure the bile pigments level via IR sensor. By using PIC microcontroller, the system effectively detects three conditions which are normal, mild and critical jaundice. The complete system is described and several methods including the best treatment are also outlined.

Plus, it also hard for the user adjust the frequency and amplitude due to the tuning difficulty using potentiometer. PC-Matlab based Signal generator development is a project Matlab software based. its objective is to generate signals which are Sinusoidal waveform, Triangle waveform and Rectangular waveform using Matlab and then being verified using Oscilloscope. Signal which is in digital form will be generated in Matlab before it is passed to the PC-soundcard to analogue signal. This analogue signal is then verified using Oscilloscope for the measurement and comparison purpose. The output result shown in Oscilloscope is the same as viewed from Matlab window which verified that the purpose PC-Matlab based Signal generator Development can be use as a function generator.

T... more ABSTRACT Stethoscope is a special device to hear heartbeat sound and monitor pulmonary disease. The most type of stethoscope used these days is the acoustic stethoscope. However, the problem with this acoustic stethoscope is the sound level very low. It is hard to analyze the heart sound and difficult to be diagnosed by a medical doctor. Therefore, this project was developed to monitor and display heartbeat sound using wireless digital stethoscope. The condenser microphone is used as a sensor to capture the low sensitivity of heart sound signal. ZigBee Pro Series 1 wireless module is used to send the heart beat signal wirelessly in 100 meters range. Microcontroller Arduino Nano and Arduino Mega were used as a platform to process the signal and sent the result to the computer. Graphical User Interface (GUI) was developed using MATLAB software to monitor real time electrocardiogram (ECG) waveform and for data logging purpose. The result shows that this device able to transmit and receive ECG waveform wirelessly. The ECG signal can be recorded through data logging application for further analysis by the medical personnel.
