This image is of Indian origin and is about a 100 years old, and the Indian Copyright Laws from the period dictates that any photograph automatically becomes public domain property after 50 years. American Copyright Laws would accpet it as a public domain image for reasons stated below.
Anonymous Author and Presumed Death:
This image was authored by one of the disciples of en:Sri Anandamoyi Ma who was never identified later. But, the historical context (i.e. presumed age of someone able to take a photograph in India almost a 100 years back, life span of Indian people etc.) dictates that it is safe to presume that the person has died even before WWII.
Use and Circulation:
It is fairly well-circulated among the followers of the subject as a public domain image, and is being used on the article en:Sri Anandamoyi Ma solely on educational purpose.
