However, the current realities demonstrate the existence of an obvious population decrement at the level of the entire country particularly triggered by the birth rate decrease and the high demographic aging to which other factors add ap specific to local communities, which in their turn determined a particular type of demographic behaviour. Therefore we aim to analyze those elements with a major population dynamics impact such as family stability and demographic potential that can generate a specific demographic behaviour, as a result of the major changes that have occurred in the last period of time. These elements are translated through several demographic indicators that characterize the family, such as the nuptiality index and the divorce index whose evolution was registered and analyzed for the peri...

The former resources trigger a specific form of leisure for the latter, namely ecotourism whose manifestation is featured in the current research paper through an analysis of the foreign and domestic arrivals as well as a succinct presentation of its fauna resources. This primitive location, its seclusion and its unique resources invite the tourist to authenticity, immersion and self discovery, in other words a responsible type of tourism. The total tourist arrivals for the Danube delta amounted to 88000 in 2012, thus indicating its remoteness from mass tourism.

A... more Wind energy has grown in popularity and concomitantly so has the installation of wind turbines. As both alternative and green sources of energy, many may assume that wind energy is replacing fossil fuels such petroleum and natural gas and leading us to a more sustainable future. While renewable energy is part of the sustainability equation, another common attribute of achieving sustainability is the localization of production and consumption. In many ways, this almost automatically occurs with wind turbines because electricity does not transport well over long distances. However, despite this characteristic of electricity, it does not mean that electricity cannot be exported, especially when political geographies are considered. Indeed, this research will examine the U.S. state of South Dakota to demonstrate that wind-generated electricity can be treated from an economic point of view as an export commodity despite any local benefits that it generates. By examining statistics for electricity generation, it will be seen that wind energy is doing much more than replacing local electricity generation by fossil fuels. Further examination will show that a significant amount of wind-generated electricity in South Dakota is exported outside the state.

On such a background, these urbanites or tourists have come into contact and continue to discover these natural resources from the point of view of their new qualities, namely people motivated to do thematic tourism. This study seeks to know in detail the potential of the 11 communes and their related villages in the Oradea Metropolitan Area (OMA) and what they provide for weekend-type activities or forms of tourism based on discovery and leisure. The researched area has various natural resources, but diversity is configured according to the environment and morpho-hydrography specific for the hilly, plain and hilly-plain contact area relief. The inventory of local resources (8 categories) prone to nature-based to...

The main aim of the study is to inventory and analyze the green areas with reference to their number, total area, area per inhabitant and their endowment for physical and tourist activities. Material and methods: The data necessary to carry out the study were obtained from the website of the National Institute of Statistics of Romania, the Register of Green Spaces of Oradea Municipality and the Oradea Green City Program as well as from field research. Their processing was performed using Excel and ArcGis 10.6. programs. Results: The results highlighted the existing situation at the level of Oradea Municipality regarding the green spaces that are suitable for carrying out physical and tourist activities. Conclusions: In conclusion, although the analyzed area is in full process of economic d...

Oradea Metropolitan Area (NUTS3ID RO111) was established in 9th of May 2005 and has a total number of 251.570 inhabitants. The purpose of the association is to stimulate and support the growth and prosperity of the area, focused on the continuous increase of the quality of life. Besides the economic boost, OMA emerged from the need for space and leisure expressed by the core urbanites and although the periurban area is teeming with valuable cultural resources, the latter being the focus of the current study, they are little known by many of the Oradea residents. In this purpose the cultural attractions of the rural OMA were inventoried, analysed and stored in an online open-access database so that tourists can enjoy them and entrepreneurs in tourism can use them as focal points for further tourist infrastructure develop...

The concept of staged authenticity, front stage and backstage relations are also debated in the case of old festivals, customs and traditions where authenticity and unnaturalness intermingle. For the regional analysis tourist statistical data referring to the accommodation supply in the Land of Moţi were carried out. The study methodology relies on target sampling-questionnaires applied to former miners to understand which the identity features of the community are and how the former can influence tourism development in an ex-mining region, but on the brinks of regaining this status. The respondents indicated that local identity stems deeply into history, the harsh times and land morphology having polished their strong character and Christian faith. Another sample...

The magnitude of the tourism phenomenon, as a sustainable resource could contribute to a functional reconsideration of this space that can bring about an overall territorial development, based on economic competitiveness, sustainable development, social cohesion or the development of new technologies. In this sense, it is not possible to conceive the development of an area from a tourist viewpoint without the existence of a suitable infrastructure (tourist, technical, transport), because it can influence, depending on the endowment degree and updated technology, the volume and structure of the tourist traffic. Thus, the main infrastructure components were identified, quantified and analyzed, each TAU being granted a certain score according to the evaluatio...

The tourism potentiality is exciting, but the resources have not been enhanced, and tourist facilities are insufficient and mainly aging. The destination is suffering from a lack of image; its commercial positioning is unclear – somewhere between an all-inclusive resort tourism hit by strong regional competition and newer hesitant approaches such as ecotourism. Through this paradox of a tourism crisis happening under the Lesser Antilles sun, martinique’s example allows us to illustrate the complexity of the issues around tourism development by highl...

A situation marked by originality and specificity is the tourist system formed of the Black Sea and the Danube Delta. On the backdrop of an exceptional natural environment human resources consisting of archaeological sites, historical buildings, architectural and art establishments, museums and memorial houses, testimonies of civilization and popular culture through elements of ethnography, the villages and tourist resorts boost the tourist valences of these areas facilitating the outline and development of a wide range of forms of tourism: leisure and health, hunting, rural, cultural, scientific, mountain etc. The tourist infrastructures are elements which support the tourist phenomena in reception areas and include hotels and motels, tourist villas and bungalows, touristic and agro-touristic boarding houses, ships and accommodation space. To these are added roads, railways, airports and waterways to connect important touristic regions and the main types of tourism: rural, mountain, leisure, health, cruise of the Danube, hunting and fishing, etc. The tourist regionalization of the Romanian territory, using as landmarks the value of the tourist potential and tourism infrastructure, outlined 32 regions which involve the capitalization and promotion of the natural and human heritage as an essential resource for tourism development in Romania.
