The major purpose of this study was to investigate the perceptions of government secondary school... more The major purpose of this study was to investigate the perceptions of government secondary school science students towards Science, Technology, Society and Environment (STSE) approach in district Dir Lower. The quantitative (survey) design was used. The data were collected from 737 science students through a self-developed questionnaire based on multiple scales. The respondents consisted of both boys and girls science students of secondary and higher secondary schools. The questionnaire included questions about awareness of STSE approach and the problems impeding this approach in science teaching. The reliability of the questionnaire was established through Cronbach's alpha and found 0.87. Data were analyzed by using frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation (Descriptive Statistics). The result of the study revealed that students were familiar with this approach and considered it helpful to enhance the critical and scientific thinking skills of students as it leads to motivate them in learning the abstract concepts of science. The study recommended that science teachers may be given proper training to implement this approach in the classroom to teach science subjects effectively.

The purpose of this study was to analyse the managerial skills of heads of teaching departments at public sector universities of Malakand division. The population of the study consisted of 69 heads and 484 faculty members in three public sector universities of Malakand division. Through stratified random sampling 45 heads and 210 faculty members were selected as sample of the study. A self-constructed questionnaire consisted of 21 Likert type items were used to collect the data from the respondents. The responses of the heads of departments were crossed checked trough faculty members responses. The reliability of the questionnaire was established through Cronbach’s alpha and found 0.83. Quantitative survey design was used to investigate the problem. The population of the study consisted of all Government secondary school science teachers and students in the tehsil Adenzai. By using stratified sampling technique 90 science teachers and 737 science students were randomly selected for this study. A self-developed questionnaire consisted of multiple scales were used to collect data from the respondents. The study results show significant differences between the perceptions of science teachers and students regarding the concept of STSE approach, required training skills, social context of science, and usefulness of STSE approach for teaching of science. School leadership plays significant role in enhancing students' achievement and making teaching-l... more School leadership plays significant role in enhancing students' achievement and making teaching-learning process more effective at school. School principal galvanizes the whole efforts and development of the school including educational environment, infrastructure, modern technology, finance, boosting teachers' morale and root out chaos and confusion from school life. This study aims to compare the perceptions of school principals and teachers regarding leadership roles in district Dir Lower. A self constructed questionnaire consisted of 61 items was distributed among 50 school principals and 200 school teachers. The responses of principals were crossed checked through teachers' responses. A significant difference was found between the perceptions of school principals and teachers regarding leadership roles. No significant difference was found between the perceptions of male and female principals regarding leadership roles. It was recommended that pre and in-service trainings, seminars and workshops could be worth mention strategies to enhance the leadership and managerial skills of the secondary school principals to act as motivator, negotiator, consultant, knowledge distributor, strategic planner, evaluator and sociable.

A stratified sample of 344 secondary school principals was selected from seven divisional headquarter districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. For data collection, a questionnaire was developed after review of related literature and previous studies comprising six categories of time management practices(TMP); scheduling contacts, managing meetings, delegation practices, managing paperwork, establishing priorities and handling interruptions- constructed to help (SSP) focus on essential tasks. Six time management practices used by secondary school principals i.e. scheduling contacts, managing meetings, delegating tasks, setting priorities, managing paperwork, handling interruptions were incorporated in a questionnaire. This paper focuses on investigating the job satisfaction level and also explores impact of some selected personal characteristics of teachers on job satisfaction in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The study used quantitative research design. From the seven divisional headquarter districts, researchers selected 744 senior secondary school teachers (SSST) through a stratified random sampling method. The teachers job satisfaction level was found high. The findings revealed that teachers gender, age, experience, academic and professional qualifications have significant effect on their job satisfaction. These personal characteristics have significant impact and predict teachers job satisfaction. The current study assessed the leadership roles of secondary school heads in Kohat division (SSHK... more The current study assessed the leadership roles of secondary school heads in Kohat division (SSHKD). The study used a quantitative research design for examining whether principals and teachers interpreted leadership roles differently and whether gender and age have any effect on leadership role of principals or not. A random sample of 60 secondary school principals and 120 Senior School Teachers (S.S.T) from 03 districts of Kohat Division participated in the study. It was found that both teachers and heads perceived that school heads perform their leadership roles effectively and efficiently. However, performing leadership roles by male and female heads viewed differently. Female principals viewed that they perform leadership roles efficiently as compare to their male counterparts. No significant differences were found in the perceptions of principals when compared regarding age. The study recommends preservice training programs for principals after their selection.

The study used quantitative research design. The population of the study consisted of all Bachelor level students of public sector universities in Malkand Division. A random sample of 900 Bachelor level students from three universities of Malakand division participated in the study. Data were collected through Time Management Behavior Scale (TMBS) developed by Macan, Shahani, Dipboye and Phillips (1990) consisting of 34 items based on five-point rating scale. The students were also requested to provide their results in the last semester.
