In the mid-twentieth century, dramatists including Edward Albee, among other writers, tried to revive a new vitalized social ideology to transform the current mode of human's thought whose effect exceeded the limits leading man to segregate himself from others. Albee was resentful of the cultural orientation during his time and he criticized the contemporary social standards in his attempt to sublimate human's life experiences partly as a self-healing process, and partly as his contribution to creating a new wave of humanistic culture. In The Zoo Story, he voices human suffering proving that both an introvert (Peter) and an extrovert (Jerry) are victims of the social norms and are struggling with the imposed sociocultural regulations. However, the type of personality traits proves to be decisive in redirecting the mode of human thought and can help to bring an individual back again to socialites where communication is the core. The aim of this research is to elucidate how human nature may interact with each other and with the varying situations in life to create new perspectives on humanistic culture, or in a broader context, to create a new ideology away from the psychological death of post-world war II modern man.

A gynocriticframes a cultural model of female literary identity that is inclusive of the biological, linguistic, andpsychological situation of women in society.Following the perspective of Showalter's gynocriticism, the main concentrate of the present study is on the internalized consciousness or the experiences of the hidden space of Lisa Soland's heroines in her Ten-Minute plays. The main reason for choosing these short plays is first, because the writer is a woman. Second, she is persistent enough in writing about women's experiences in their socio-cultural context. The main finding of the research is that Soland, digging deep into the female wild zone, establishes a counter-culture based on self-confidence and assertiveness. She advocates an encouraging attitude to elevate female consciousness.

He advocates an encouraging attitude to elevate the African Americans' spiritual consciousness and to teach them how to sublimate their aims in life. He aspires to win the everlasting battle against racial discrimination, oppression, injustice, and identity confusion. Sublimation, as a defence mechanism, will be Wilson's new ammunition to re-read and to re-interpret the psychic constitution of his people, to help them get out of their self-imposed fences and this is the core of Wilson's new culture. Sublimation is the process in which the psyche directs the negative drives towards a goal, a process that generally aims at the 'progress of the spirit'; at a better and more authentic self. Wilson is perfectly aware of the ground on which he should stand as an African American and as a playwright, he is willing to help his people find their ground. Various social and psychological delinquencies have threatened the psychic constitutions of Wilson's main characters in Fences, yet they are finally able to reconcile their inner self and be productive through following a new culture based on the concept of sublimation.
