The National Standardization Body has decided to make ISO 31000 the National standard for the principle and guidance of risk engineering in industry. Meanwhile, the reference for implementating ISO 31000 is very limited, especially in the footwear industry which has significant volume in Indonesian industry. This article gives a description of the implementation and impact of ISO 31000 with respect to a company's risk engineering strategy on the production floor in the footwear industry. The implementation of risk engineering begins with establishing a context to determine any analysis consideration. The next step is the execution of the risk engineering process, which consists of four major steps: risk identification, risk analysis, risk evaluation and risk treatment. Some techniques used in the risk engineering process are semi-structured interview, root cause analysis, consequence/probability matrix, and cost benefit analysis. Fourty five risks are identified from the company studied. From the risk evaluation, 14 risks are identified as risks that require special treatments. Those risks shall become the priority of management. The process of risk engineering discovered risk in safety. Therefore, safety engineering was implemented to improve the system.

Besides the formal manufacturers, the sector also comprises informal or home-based ones. More than 50% of this home-based footwear industry in Indonesia is located in Cibaduyut, Bandung. The main issues related to it are the lack of awareness of the risks embeded in the work environment, and the safety and ergonomics of the employees. Therefore, research was conducted to evaluate these aspects in order to ensure the future sustainability of the industry. Three questionnaires were employed for the study, the Participatory Action Training for the Informal Sector (PATRIS) questionnaire, the Nordic Safety Climate Questionnaire (NOSACQ-50) and the Employee Perceptions of Participatory Ergonomics Questionnaire (EPPEQ), in order to evaluate safety and ergonomic practice related to current activities, based on four representative shoe workshop samples. The ILO-PATRIS checklist shows that the four shoe workshops require improvements in both their facilities and working environments (p < 0.01). The NOSACQ-50 analysis shows that the safety climate levels of employees were 84% low and 16% moderate, while those of owners were 27% low and 73% moderate. This shows a significant difference between the safety climates of employees and owners (p < 0.05), with a strong relationship (r = 0.88). The ergonomic analysis of employee participation based on EPPEQ shows that all workers displayed acceptable levels. However, linear regression analysis shows that ergonomic activity has no significant relationship with facilities, work environment or work safety climate (p > 0.05). ILO-PATRIS complements NOSACQ-50 in measuring the safety climate of small and medium sized enterprises, especially home-based shoe workshops. Overall, the four shoe workshops need to improve their working environment, work facilities, safety climate and participatory ergonomics of the employees.

Therefore, a pricing optimization model will be more valid if the demand function is represented under this basic notion. A preference-based revenue optimization model for an app-based lifestyle membership program is developed and solved in this research. The model considers competitor products and cannibalization effect from products in other fare-class, where both are incorporated using a preference-based demand function. The demand function was derived through a randomized first choice simulation that converts individual utility values into personal choices based on the random parameter logit model. Cannibalizing products are considered as competing products in the simulation scenario. In the pricing optimization, two and three fare classes based on the membership period are considered. The corresponding pricing optimization problem is a mixed-integer nonlinear programming problem with a solution-dependen...

The process consists of mixing materials with chemical substances and applying a heating treatment. There are three factors considered in this experiment which are the heating temperature and the amount of salt and soda. There are three aforementioned observed quality characteristics of which the level should be minimized, with the target value of zero. Response surface methodology is applied in this research. In the initial step, we conduct a 23 factorial experiment in order to look for the factors that significantly influence the quality characteristics. Based on this result and some additional experiments, we establish a regression model for each yarn quality characteristic. Analyzing the responses on their factors level area and also by considering dyeing cost into account...

Employing a performance achievement framework for the relationship between business incubator success factors will guarantee connection with commercial schemes, which support a high level of performance indicators in successful business incubator models. This research employs a quantitative approach, with the data analyzed using the IBM SPSS version 23 and Smart PLS version 3 statistical software packages. Employing a sample of 95 incubator managers from 19 universities which geographically located in Indonesia, it is shown that the image of business incubator factors has a positive effect on incubator performance. The study investigates the relationship between incubator performance and business incubator success factors in Indonesia. It was found that IT, as part of the business incubators' facets/abilities, partially supports their performance; that the entry criteria directly support the performance of the incubators; that mentoring networks also support the performance, with good infrastructure systems as a moderating factor; that funding supports the performance of business incubators, also with good infrastructure systems as a moderating factor; and that university regulations and government support and protection enhance the performance of business incubators, with credits and rewards as a moderating factor. In addition,

A situation that an agency may handle is a disaster relief program. A good aid replenishment strategy during this period is critical. The fulfillment of any item needed is important to ensure the survival ability of the victim. The demand of items may have certain patterns, including a trend characteristic. The traditional Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) may not be suitable to be applied during this situation. Therefore, an alternative mathematical model is proposed. The model is developed by considering the increasing demand behavior, the deterioration of inventory item, the urgency of items during the period, and the shortage issue. An analytical calculation approach is performed to demonstrate how the model could be implemented. The result shows that the more often the replenishment is executed, the higher the service level will be, without compromising the cost. At the end of this research we also suggest some future potential work to perform.

The paper has also a focus on the application of the developed CLPFR model to a large-scale industrial engineering problem for maximising profit with optimal product-mix solution. Some tolerances are required to assign by decision makers on the identified constraints. This is done due to the imprecision of the large volume of industrial data as well as the conglomerated decision from all levels of management. This situation reflects the fuzziness in the availability of resources. To accommodate this situation, the CLPFR model is proposed. The objective is to use the CLPFR model as a robust methodology in obtaining an optimal unit of products.
