Edilson Cyrino

Edilson Serpeloni Cyrino completed his Ph.D. in Physical Education at the University of São Paulo in 2002, held a Post-doctoral Fellowship at the Technical University of Lisbon in 2008, a Senior Internship at the University of Coimbra in 2012/2013, and a Post-doctoral Fellowship at the University of Lisbon in 2018/2019. He is currently a Full Professor at the State University of Londrina (UEL), Member of the Advisory Committee of Araucária Foundation for Scientific and Technological Development Support, CNPq Research Productivity Fellow - Level 1B, leader of the Study and Research Group on Metabolism, Nutrition and Exercise (GEPEMENE), and Member of the Editorial Board of the following journals: SpringerPlus, Revista Brasileira de Ciências do Esporte, Semina - Ciências Biológicas e da Saúde (Online) and Corpoconsciência (São Paulo). He was Coordinator of the Associated Postgraduate Program in Physical Education - UEM/UEL in three administrations (2005-2007, 2007-2010 and 2013-2017), President of the Elaboration Committee of the Proposal of the Associated Postgraduate Program in Physical Education - UEM/UEL (2004-2005), Coordinator of Post-Graduation stricto sensu of the Center of Physical Education and Sport of UEL in four managements (2004-2006, 2006-2008, 2009-2010 and 2013-2017), Coordinator of the lato sensu Post-Graduation Commission of the Center of Physical Education and Sport of UEL (2011-2012), Coordinator of the lato sensu Post-Graduation Course in Gym Activities of UEL (2011-2013), Coordinator of the lato sensu post-graduate course in Health-Related Physical Activity at UEL (2011-2013), Deputy Head of the Department of Fundamentals of Physical Education at UEL (1998-1999), Member of the Board of Teaching, Research and Extension at UEL (2009-2010), Member of the Chamber of Research, Extension and Postgraduate Studies at UEL (2006-2008, 2009-2010 and 2011-2012), Coordinator of the Brazilian Recommendations for Physical Activity for the Elderly with the Brazilian Ministry of Health (2020-2021), President of the Brazilian Congress of Metabolism, Nutrition and Exercise (CONBRAMENE) in seven editions (2006, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016 and 2018). He has published 301 full papers in national and international journals and 15 book chapters. He has supervised 10 post-doctoral fellowships and advised 17 doctoral theses, 21 master's dissertations, 53 scientific initiation projects, 26 specialization monographs, and 76 graduation monographs in Physical Education, Public Health, and Nutrition. He has received 21 awards or honors. Since 1998, he has participated in 30 research projects, coordinating 19 of them. He currently coordinates two research projects funded by Brazilian funding agencies.
