The oasis ecosystem in Biskra is threatened or even degraded due to accelerated urban growth in recent decades. This urbanization, which takes place at the expense of the palm grove, has led to the loss of a very large number of palm trees. This prompts reflection on solutions for its sustainability. We suppose that using GIS tools helps in measuring the losses in terms of palms number in the oasis of Biskra, then we can use these founds to improve the ecosystem oasis and to reduce the urbanization impact. The goal of this work is to find a tool that helps in improving the oasis ecosystem in Biskra and corresponds to its context. Also, it attempts to prove that GIS are useful for measuring the impact of urbanization on the oasis of Biskra. The results show that using the palm modular in GIS helps to define the ratio palm num...

Today many ideas and concepts are developed in the scientific literature to demonstrate the benefits derived from ecosystems, such as ecosystem services, multifunctionality, and ecosystem values. However, the analyses of multifunctionality or ecosystem services of the oasis lack from the scientific literature. This study uses a literature review and a prior assessment of the oasis ecosystem services in order to create a particular conceptual framework for the oasis in an attempt to create a toolbox of variables or indicators for the evaluation of ecosystem services in the particular case of a desert ecosystem, i.e., the oasis.

This system is not only energy efficient, but it has demonstrated these multiple roles, spiritual, social and cultural. This is what this work will try to demonstrate; the different roles of patio in the oasis house using a multi-criteria comparative approach and a numerical simulation.

These forms find birth because of the society‘s confrontation with several foreign lifestyle from other civilizations that have marked the history of the city. This work presents a comparative study of the various domestic architecture forms that appeared in Biskra, and anlyses the spatial organisation of these forms appeared throught history.
