A phosphate solubilizing and antagonistic bacterial strain, isolated from a Western Ghat forest s... more A phosphate solubilizing and antagonistic bacterial strain, isolated from a Western Ghat forest soil in Kerala province, India (designated as NII-0906), showed cold tolerance and grew from 10 to 37°C (optimum temperature 30°C). It was a Gram-positive, rod shaped, 0.8–1.6 μm in size, and exhibited tolerance to a wide pH range (5–12; optimum 7.0) and salt concentration up to 7% (w/v). The isolate showed maximum similarity with Exiguobacterium marinum TF-80T based on 16S rRNA analysis. It solubilized tricalcium phosphate under in vitro conditions. The phosphate solubilization was estimated along a temperature range (5–40°C), and maximum activity (84.7 μg mL−1 day−1) was recorded at 30°C after 10 days of incubation. The phosphate solubilizing activity coincided with a concomitant decrease in pH of the medium. Therefore, it is essential to provide alternative fertilizers to reduce dependence on inorganic fertilizers. This study investigated the role of organic liquid fertilizer C. glomerata (OLFC) in increasing the efficiency of NPK Phonska fertilizer, influencing soil chemical reactions, and enhancing the growth and yield of maize on alluvial soils. The materials used were hybrid maize of the Pioneer 32, OLFC, and NPK Phonska (15-15-15). The experiment was arranged in a completely randomized design (CRD) in factorial. The OLFC was applied at 0 mL L-1 , 5 mL L-1 , and 10 mL L-1 ; NPK Phonska Fertilizer at 0, 150, and 300 kg ha-1 in three replications. The data obtained were statistically analyzed using ANOVA at 5%. Level of significance and mean separation using the LSD at 5% probability. The following parameters were evaluated: soil chemical properties and agronomic factors, such as the height of crop, net assimilation rate, relative growth rate, weight of 100 seeds, yield, and agronomic efficiency (AE). The highest maize yield recorded was 4.83 tons per hectare, achieved by applying 150 NPK Phonska kg per hectare, supported by a fertilization efficiency of 11.28%. Adding 5 mL per liter of OLFC every two weeks to maize plants resulted in the highest AE, reaching 21.81%.

The use of very intensive artificial fertilizers, as well as minimal organic fertilizers, has made the quality of the soil decline. Intensive tillage on agricultural land will further worsen the quality and quantity of soil. The purpose of this activity is to identify soil physics from agricultural land that is used intensively to support food security in West Sumatra. This research was conducted by taking samples at representative locations in January 2022. The soils were taken randomly, at each location in West Sumatra, among others, Padang Pariaman; South Coast; Solok district; Dharmasraya; and the City of Padang. The research method was carried out using description and survey methods and taking samples at representative locations. Fine soil is used to determine Bulk density, Particle density, total pore space, and soil pH. In general, the density of Histosols in Lubuk Alung, Padang Pariaman Regency ranged from 0.5 to 0.78 g cm-3 , Ultisols ranged from 1.04 to 1.4 g cm-3 , Andisols ranged from 0.88 g cm-3 ; Alfisol 0.9 g cm-3 ; and Inceptisol ranged from 0.85-0.96 g cm-3. Land located on Mount Pangilun; Lubuk Minturun Padang and Lagan Gadang Hilir (Pessisir Selatan), need to be addressed because of the range of soil moisture in conditions of water availability is very narrow or low, so the plants are easy to dry, and need regular irrigation or watering. Histosol in Punggasan Pesisir Selatan has a total pore space of 63.83%. Soils that are in the average pH of several soils in West Sumatra are 5.05, covering the areas of Padang Pariaman, Pesisir Selatan, Solok Regency, and Padang City. The Mount Pangilun area has a pH of 6.43 which has the best pH compared to all pHs of various soil types measured.

This research was conducted from June-Ocotber 2019 in Jua Village, Jua Nan XX Village, Lubuk Begalung District, West Sumatra. This research was conducted using a completely randomized design (CRD) with a plant spacing of 25 cm x 25 cm on 2 x 2 m plot area, with 7 treatments consisting of uncut, cut at 35 DAP and cutting height from 5 cm, 10 cm, and 15 cm. Cutting at the age of 45 days after planting starting from the cutting height of 5 cm, 10 cm, and 15 cm with 3 replications so that there were 21 experimental plots. The data were taken completely randomly if it has a significant effect, it will be continued with the BNT test at a 5% level of significance. This study concluded that the best treatment was cutting the rice plant IR42, which was carried out at 45 hst as high as 5 cm above the soil surface and is able to produce 11.5 t ha-1 forage and 5.73 t ha-1 harvest dry grain (HDG), with a net income of 25.785 million rupiah for 1 harvest or 6,45 million rupiah per month.

It was started in February 2015 to May 2015. The study aimed was to examine the mechanism of amendment soil chemical properties and nutrient uptake of rice crop was fertilized By Chromolaena odorata Compost. The experiment was conducted by using Randomized Complete Design (RCD) in Split Plot Design with the main plots were three varieties of rice crops namely; Cisokan (V1); Pandan Wangi (V2) and Red Cempo (V3). The subplot consisted three types of fertilizer composition; 5 Mg ha-1 Compost C. odorata (CCP) +100% Artificial Fertilizer Recommendation (AFR) (F1); 7.5 Mg ha-1 CCP+75% AFR (F2); 10 Mg ha-1 CCP +50% AFR (F3), with three replications. Data was analysed by using the F test significance level of 5%, and an Honestly Significant Difference test (HSD) α 5%. Parameters include analysis of soil chemical properties, manure, analysis of nutrient uptake and the weight of dry crop biomass. The study indicated there was amendment in soil chemical properties after the application of C. odorata, compost achieving optimal fertility for rice crop. Nitrogen and other minerals uptake in rice crop increased due to the increased provision of artificial fertilizers escorted by lowering the dose of C.odorata compost. The ability about the nutrient uptake of rice crop is higher in rice Pandan Wangi and causes the higher forage yield than rice Cisokan or Red Cempo.

In general, the density of Histosols in Lubuk Alung, Padang Pariaman Regency ranged from 0.5 to 0.78 g cm-3 , Ultisols ranged from 1.04 to 1.4 g cm-3 , Andisols ranged from 0.88 g cm-3 ; Alfisol 0.9 g cm-3 ; and Inceptisol ranged from 0.85-0.96 g cm-3. Land located on Mount Pangilun; Lubuk Minturun Padang and Lagan Gadang Hilir (Pessisir Selatan), need to be addressed because of the range of soil moisture in conditions of water availability is very narrow or low, so the plants are easy to dry, and need regular irrigation or watering. Histosol in Punggasan Pesisir Selatan has a total pore space of 63.83%. Soils that are in the average pH of several soils in West Sumatra are 5.05, covering the areas of Padang Pariaman, Pesisir Selatan, Solok Regency, and Padang City. The Mount Pangilun area has a pH of 6.43 which has the best pH compared to all pHs of various soil types measured.

This research was conducted from June-Ocotber 2019 in Jua Village, Jua Nan XX Village, Lubuk Begalung District, West Sumatra. This research was conducted using a completely randomized design (CRD) with a plant spacing of 25 cm x 25 cm on 2 x 2 m plot area, with 7 treatments consisting of uncut, cut at 35 DAP and cutting height from 5 cm, 10 cm, and 15 cm. Cutting at the age of 45 days after planting starting from the cutting height of 5 cm, 10 cm, and 15 cm with 3 replications so that there were 21 experimental plots. The data were taken completely randomly if it has a significant effect, it will be continued with the BNT test at a 5% level of significance. This study concluded that the best treatment was cutting the rice plant IR42, which was carried out at 45 hst as high as 5 cm above the soil surface and is able to produce 11.5 t ha-1 forage and 5.73 t ha-1 harvest dry grain (HDG), with a net income of 25.785 million rupiah for 1 harvest or 6,45 million rupiah per month.

It was started in February 2015 to May 2015. The study aimed was to examine the mechanism of amendment soil chemical properties and nutrient uptake of rice crop was fertilized By Chromolaena odorata Compost. The experiment was conducted by using Randomized Complete Design (RCD) in Split Plot Design with the main plots were three varieties of rice crops namely; Cisokan (V1); Pandan Wangi (V2) and Red Cempo (V3). The subplot consisted three types of fertilizer composition; 5 Mg ha-1 Compost C. odorata (CCP) +100% Artificial Fertilizer Recommendation (AFR) (F1); 7.5 Mg ha-1 CCP+75% AFR (F2); 10 Mg ha-1 CCP +50% AFR (F3), with three replications. Data was analysed by using the F test significance level of 5%, and an Honestly Significant Difference test (HSD) α 5%. Parameters include analysis of soil chemical properties, manure, analysis of nutrient uptake and the weight of dry crop biomass. The study indicated there was amendment in soil chemical properties after the application of C. odorata, compost achieving optimal fertility for rice crop. Nitrogen and other minerals uptake in rice crop increased due to the increased provision of artificial fertilizers escorted by lowering the dose of C.odorata compost. The ability about the nutrient uptake of rice crop is higher in rice Pandan Wangi and causes the higher forage yield than rice Cisokan or Red Cempo.
