Francesco Paolo Maria Di Salvia
Francesco Paolo Maria Di Salvia was born (1982) and raised in Salerno.
He graduated in Arts and Sciences of Performing Arts at La Sapienza - University of Rome, majoring in Contemporary Italian Literature with a thesis on Guido Morselli's "Dissipatio H.G.". He completed his education by graduating in Scriptwriting and Creative Production for Television Series at the Italian National Film School (Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia). He worked in the development and production of several television dramas and full features films for the big screen.
Francesco Di Salvia published his first short story "Viano, Rocco e quell'indolente di Greaves" ("Viani, Rocco, and that Lazy-Ass of Jimmy Greaves") in 2001. He won the Subway Letteratura Award for the short story "Diario probabile..." ("Plausible Diary..."), in 2002, and the Italian National Olympic Committee's Sports Short Story of the Year for "Leone Martini, terzino stagionale" ("Leone Martini, Seasonal Full-Back") in 2003. "La circostanza" ("The Circumstance"), his first novel, was published by Marsilio Editori, in 2015, and won him both the special mention at the 2014 Italo Calvino Award and the 2015 Giuseppe Berto Award.
