Mario Clerici
Mario (Mago) Clerici graduated from medical school at the University of Milano and trained for more than 6 years at the NIH in Bethesda; in the meantime he received a PhD in internal medicine. He became an associate professor of Immunology at the University of Milano in 1993 and was promoted to full professor in 1999. Since 2009 he coordinates the research of the IRCCS S Maria Nascente at the Don Gnocchi Foundation. He has directed the PhD School in Molecular and Translational Medicine at the University of Milano from 2008 to 2017 and, since 2017 is the Head of the Department of Physiopathology and Transplantations at the same University. He authored more than 750 papers (>45,000 citations; H index>100), has been awarded National and International prizes, is a knight (commendatore) of the Italian Republic, and an ISI highly cited scientist (http://www.highlycited.com).
