The optimum mobile phase was 10% potassium dihydrogen phosphate. TLC-contact bioautography used Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 29737 as a test organism. For TLC-densitometry, analyte spots were detected using 1% w/v ninhydrin in ethanol and maximum absorbance at 400 nm. TLC-contact bioautography and TLC-densitometry methods were validated according to USP guidelines for the limit test with respect to selectivity and limit of detection (LOD) added with the accuracy of a recovery test of streptomycin sulfate and kanamycin sulfate in fresh fish samples was developed and validated. Manalagi Apple (Malus sylvestris Mill) juice and black tea contain antioxidant compounds that can counteract free radicals. The purpose of this study was to prove that the addition of Manalagi apple juice would increase the antioxidant activity and stability of black tea. The DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) method was used in this study to determine their antioxidant activities. Black tea antioxidant activity was measured at 0, 6 and 24 hours after the addition of Manalagi apple juice. Antioxidant stability of black tea compared to black tea added with Manalagi apple juice. The purpose of this research work was to create a meloxicam patch transdermal drug delivery syste... more The purpose of this research work was to create a meloxicam patch transdermal drug delivery system using Nanostructured Lipid Carriers (NLC) as drug reservoir and Hydroxy Propyl Methyl Cellulose (HPMC) as rate controlling membrane. Meloxicam, an antiinflammatory non-steroidal drugs, was used as a drug model. The NLC was done by using high-shear homogenization method. In this formulation, monostearin and alpha-tocopherol were used as lipid matrix. The transdermal patches of meloxicam were prepared by using different percentages of rate controlling membrane. NLC Meloxicam was dispersed into 1 ml rate controlling solution and spread over the backing layer followed by drying at room temperature.The patches were evaluated for physical appearance, weight variation, moisture content, drug content uniformity and morphology. The patches demonstrated satisfactory characteristics with minimum weight variation among the patches that lead to give uniformity in the drug content.

Diversification of milk into fermented milk products will increase prices by five times, so that it is expected to increase people's income, because not only is the product variant increasing, but the market is also increasing. The result of the training shows that all participants experience a significant increase in knowledge, indicated by higher post-test result compared to the pre-test result. Tahun 2013, pernah ditemukan Rhodamin B dalam produk terasi yang beredar di pasar kabupaten Sumbawa Barat. Rhodamin B adalah pewarna merah yang dilarang digunakan untuk makanan. Diantara berbagai produk terasi yang dijual di Sumbawa, terasi khas asli Sumbawa yaitu terasi Empang, perlu dijaga keamanannya agar dapat lebih dipromosikan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah membuktikan bahwa terasi yang dijual pasar kota Sumbawa Besar tidak mengandung Rhodamin B. Metode yang digunakan untuk identifikasi Rhodamin B adalah kromatografi lapis tipis (KLT). Penelitian ini menggunakan silika gel 60 F254 sebagai fase diam dan fase gerak terpilih yaitu N-butanol:etil asetat:amonia 25% (10:4:5). Sampel adalah produk terasi yang dijual di Pasar Kota Sumbawa Besar, periode sampling bulan Februari dan Maret 2021. Preparasi sampel terasi dengan cara diekstraksi menggunakan etanol dan volume ekstrak yang ditotolkan pada lempeng KLT adalah 2 µl. Parameter validasi metode yang diuji adalah spesifisitas/selektifitas dan batas deteksi (LOD). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan metode ini spesifik untuk Rhodamine B yaitu Rf 0,69, profil spektra yang sama antara baku dan sampel yang diadisi Rhodamin B. Resolusi (Rs) antara noda Rhodamin B dengan noda terdekat lain dalam sampel adalah >1,5. Panjang gelombang serapan maksimum Rhodamin B adalah 544 nm. Nilai LOD sebesar 4,14 ng. Hasil identifikasi terhadap 10 sampel yang terdiri dari 3 sampel terdaftar di BPOM dan 7 sampel tidak terdaftar di BPOM tidak terdeteksi adanya Rhodamin B. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah semua sampel terasi yang dijual di pasar kota Sumbawa Besar tidak terdeteksi mengandung Rhodamin B.

The aim of this study was to validate the HPLC for determining the characteristic profile of MAs chromatogram of the INH resistant MTB. The optimum derivatization process obtained was as follows: the minimum biomass weight was 25 mg. The experimental temperature was performed in (80-90)o C using a water bath for minimum 30 minutes in order to complete the MAs derivatization. Reagent volume used in the range of (200-500 μL) were not influenced the MAs chromatogram profile. The aim of this study was to determine the illicit additive of formalin in chicken meat which were taken from East Surabaya traditional markets. The number of samples were 100 slices of chicken meat which were taken from 15 markets in East Surabaya. Samples were collected from Pucang Anom, Manyar, Tambak Rejo, Pacar Keling, Gubeng Masjid, Indrakila, Sutorejo, Bratang, Kendangsari, Gebang, Keputih, Tenggilis, Pahing, Soponyono, and Rungkut traditional markets. Formalin in samples were detected by chromotropic acid in concentrated sulfuric acid as reagent, prior to determine quantitatively. In the course of our screening program for anti diarrheal bacterial – Escheria coli, Salmonella t... more In the course of our screening program for anti diarrheal bacterial – Escheria coli, Salmonella typhimurium, and Vibrio cholerae agents from fermented probiotic milk, Lactobacillus acidophilus FNCC-0051 and Bifidobacterium bifidum as a potential probiotic were picked out for further investigation. Each probiotic microorganism was prepared as fermented milk by using 15% skim milk. Inhibition potency of the fermented milk that consisted of both probiotic microorganisms at 1 9, 2 8, 3 7, 4 6, 5 5, 6 4, 7 3, 8 2, and 9 1 ratio was assayed against diarrheal causing bacteria. The combination of two fermented probiotic milk showed strong inhibition against test bacteria at ratio of 4 6 and the MIC is 30%. On the other hands, total plate count of the combination is 108cfu/mL, is comply with the requirement for intestine as target side of action. Thus, the combination was considered of great potential to develop as an anti diarrheal preparation.

To ensure the quality and effectiveness of zinc syrup, zinc determination has been done based on the intensity of the color of zinc-dithizone complex in acetone propanol (1 1) using visible spectrophotometer. Zinc concentrations are compared with complexometry method using EBT indicator. The concentration of zinc in samples using complexometry method was (106.1 ± 0.02)% of the amount listed on the label. Result of the zinc assay by complexometry method is more accurate than the result that obtained using visible spectrophotometer method.

The purpose of this study was to obtain a valid thin layer chromatography densitometry for determination colchicine in Gloriosa superba Linn. infus using selectivity/ specificity, accuracy, precision and linearity parameter. The results were as follows, selective mobile phase obtained was chloroform:diethylamine (9:1). Linearity test showed that there were linear relationship between colchicine concentration and area with coefficient correlation (r = 0,9965) and Vxo = 8,19%. The average recovery was 85,77 ± 6,39 %, (RSD = 7,45%). RSD for instrument precission was 3,74%. The results of this study indicate that this method was valid and fulfill requirement of AOAC, with selectivity for colchicine (Rs = 2, 14 and 3, 5), linearity (r=0,9965), accuracy (85,77%)

The optimum procedure for sample preparation used a combination solvent of n-hexane aceton. The modified AOAC procedure was used as procedure for sample preparation. The obtained procedure meet requirement for linearity test in the range of deltamethrin concentration of 9,950-99,50 mg/L. The limit of detection (LD) and limit of quantitation (LQ) were found to be 2,189 mg/L and 6,634 mg/L respectively. Recovery was carried out by adding deltamethrin 53,18 mg/L (as final concentration) into matrix blank. The result showed that recovery from modified AOAC procedure using combination of n-hexane aceton acetonitril as extraction solvents was 41,9-71,80%. Flavonoid compounds were unstable at high temperatures. Meanwhile, the processing of roselle extract powder into ready-to drink or food preparations generally requires the thermal processes. The aims of this study were to determine the effect of temperature and heating time of roselle extract powder solution on the inhibition of microbial growth of Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923. The method of this study uses a ready-to- process roselle powder extract sample. The roselle extract powder solution in a screw cap tube was heated at a temperature of 40°C, 50°C, 60°C, 70°C, 80°C, and 90°C on a waterbath, with heating times at each temperature were 15 minutes and 30 minutes. Padahal, homogenitas logam-logam tersebut (karena kadarnya kecil, yaitu 0,1%) dapat digunakan sebagai salah satu indikator kesempurnaan proses produksi tablet yang bersangkutan. The aim of this study was to validate the HPLC for determining the characteristic profile of MAs chromatogram of the INH resistant MTB. The optimum derivatization process obtained was as follows: the minimum biomass weight was 25 mg. The experimental temperature was performed in (80-90)o C using a water bath for minimum 30 minutes in order to complete the MAs derivatization. Reagent volume used in the range of (200-500 μL) were not influenced the MAs chromatogram profile. The optimum condition of HPLC was as follows: mobile phase was methanol:isopropanol (60:40) for 3 minutes, followed by gradient elution (4:96) in 50 minutes. The aim of this study was to determine the illicit additive of formalin in chicken meat which were taken from East Surabaya traditional markets. The number of samples were 100 slices of chicken meat which were taken from 15 markets in East Surabaya. Samples were collected from Pucang Anom, Manyar, Tambak Rejo, Pacar Keling, Gubeng Masjid, Indrakila, Sutorejo, Bratang, Kendangsari, Gebang, Keputih, Tenggilis, Pahing, Soponyono, and Rungkut traditional markets. Formalin in samples were detected by chromotropic acid in concentrated sulfuric acid as reagent, prior to determine quantitatively. Intensity of the violet-red color obtained was determined with spectrophotometry at the wavelength of 567.5 nm. In the course of our screening program for anti diarrheal bacterial – Escheria coli, Salmonella t... more In the course of our screening program for anti diarrheal bacterial – Escheria coli, Salmonella typhimurium, and Vibrio cholerae agents from fermented probiotic milk, Lactobacillus acidophilus FNCC-0051 and Bifidobacterium bifidum as a potential probiotic were picked out for further investigation. Each probiotic microorganism was prepared as fermented milk by using 15% skim milk. Inhibition potency of the fermented milk that consisted of both probiotic microorganisms at 1 9, 2 8, 3 7, 4 6, 5 5, 6 4, 7 3, 8 2, and 9 1 ratio was assayed against diarrheal causing bacteria. The combination of two fermented probiotic milk showed strong inhibition against test bacteria at ratio of 4 6 and the MIC is 30%. On the other hands, total plate count of the combination is 108cfu/mL, is comply with the requirement for intestine as target side of action. Thus, the combination was considered of great potential to develop as an anti diarrheal preparation.

To ensure the quality and effectiveness of zinc syrup, zinc determination has been done based on the intensity of the color of zinc-dithizone complex in acetone propanol (1 1) using visible spectrophotometer. Zinc concentrations are compared with complexometry method using EBT indicator. The concentration of zinc in samples using complexometry method was (106.1 ± 0.02)% of the amount listed on the label. Result of the zinc assay by complexometry method is more accurate than the result that obtained using visible spectrophotometer method.

The purpose of this study was to obtain a valid thin layer chromatography densitometry for determination colchicine in Gloriosa superba Linn. infus using selectivity/ specificity, accuracy, precision and linearity parameter. The results were as follows, selective mobile phase obtained was chloroform:diethylamine (9:1). Linearity test showed that there were linear relationship between colchicine concentration and area with coefficient correlation (r = 0,9965) and Vxo = 8,19%. The average recovery was 85,77 ± 6,39 %, (RSD = 7,45%). RSD for instrument precission was 3,74%. The results of this study indicate that this method was valid and fulfill requirement of AOAC, with selectivity for colchicine (Rs = 2, 14 and 3, 5), linearity (r=0,9965), accuracy (85,77%)

The optimum procedure for sample preparation used a combination solvent of n-hexane aceton. The modified AOAC procedure was used as procedure for sample preparation. The obtained procedure meet requirement for linearity test in the range of deltamethrin concentration of 9,950-99,50 mg/L. The limit of detection (LD) and limit of quantitation (LQ) were found to be 2,189 mg/L and 6,634 mg/L respectively. Recovery was carried out by adding deltamethrin 53,18 mg/L (as final concentration) into matrix blank. The result showed that recovery from modified AOAC procedure using combination of n-hexane aceton acetonitril as extraction solvents was 41,9-71,80%.
