Ontologies present well defined, straightforward and standardized form of the repositories (vast and reliable knowledge) where it can be interoperable and machine understandable. There are many possible utilization of ontologies from automatic annotation of web resources to domain representation and reasoning task. Ontology is an effective conceptualism used for the semantic web. However there is none of the research try to construct an ontology from Islamic knowledge which consist of Holy Quran, Hadiths and etc. Therefore as a first stage, we try to identify the framework of Islamic Knowledge in order to develop an ontology, and method for extracting an Islamic concept.

Manakala dapatan kajian terdahulu berkaitan dengan mata pelajaran dalam bidang bahasa Arab STAM pula menunjukkan bahawa tahap penguasaan pelajar berada pada tahap lemah.Penguasaan bahasa Arab dalam kalangan guru merupakan antara faktor yang mempengaruhi pencapaian pelajar. Penguasaan bahasa Arab bermaksud keupayaan menguasai komponen yang membentuk bahasa tersebut.Antara komponen yang membentuk bahasa Arab adalah peraturan bahasa. Sumaiyah (2011) found that while teachers observe the teaching practices related to creating initial motivation, their exercise of practices pertinent to maintaining motivation is relatively limited.

During the last century, there have been critiques targeted at methodology related to teaching an... more During the last century, there have been critiques targeted at methodology related to teaching and learning of Islamic studies, in particular towards the failure to effectively respond to the challenges brought by contemporary needs in this modern world. As a religion embraced by one fifth of the world's population, there is a real need for Islamic studies to revamp its methodology and approach in order to ensure its continuous relevance and as a response to the demands exerted by the globalization and presented by the modernity. Since the late 1970s, Islamic scholars have seriously discussed this failure and have suggested a multitude of action plans to address the weakness. This paper discusses various stands taken by Islamic scholars in this issue and suggests ways to improve the method of teaching and learning of Islamic studies.

The achievements of Islamic civilization in India, particularly during the Mughal era, added sparkle to the glory of Islamic history. For this reason, the facts relating the Mughal Kingdom in India have been discussed in writings on Islamic history and civilization, including the book, Sejarah Umat Islam, by Hamka. The purpose of this article is to study Hamkas work on the history of the Mughal Kingdom in India and analyse the narration and discussion he submitted. Ini kerana terdapat perbezaan antara sintaksis bahasa Melayu dan bahasa Arab. Antara topik sintaksis yang rumit dalam pembelajaran bahasa Arab ialah maf‘ul mutlaq. Maf‘ul mutlaq adalah antara pecahan tajuk kata nama akusatif (mansubat) di bawah gugusan maf‘ulat. This distinctiveness is ascribed to the beautiful language style of the Qur’an, apart from its content concerning all aspects of life. One of the distinctiveness of the language of the Qur’an is the usage of its ism al-jam‘. This term ism al-jam‘ literally means plural noun but in essence it is a singular noun that gives plural meaning. The usage of the term in the Qur’an is one of the topics of interest initiated by past Arabic scholars of syntax. Students are confused and do not understand Arabic grammar as it contains complex concepts and terminology to be understoond. One aspect of language styles in Arabic grammar is al-tawkid. al-Tawkid or termed 'assertion words' in the Malay language is an important one to be understood in the discussion of languange grammar. This contrastive study is necessary in order to help students' understanding of the language style of tawkid in Arabic language. The main objective of this study is to identify the style of language al-tawkid in Malay and Arabic languages, to analyze aspects of the similarities and differences between both. This study is expected to solve problems in the teaching and learning of Arabic as a foreign language in Malaysia in particular.

Pelajar keliru dan tidak memahami tatabahasa Arab kerana ia mengandungi konsep dan istilah yang rumit untuk difahami. Salah satu aspek yang terdapat dalam tatabahasa Arab ialah gaya bahasa al-tawkid. al-Tawkid atau diistilahkan sebagai 'kata penegas' atau 'kata penguat' dalam bahasa Melayu merupakan salah satu tatabahasa yang penting untuk difahami. Kajian kontrastif ini perlu dilakukan bagi membantu kefahaman para pelajar mengenai gaya bahasa al-tawkid bahasa Arab. Objektif utama kajian ini adalah untuk mengenal pasti gaya bahasa Al-tawkid bahasa Melayu dan bahasa Arab, menganalisis aspek persamaan antara kedua-dua bahasa dan aspek perbezaannya. In addition, language contained the word patterns, morpheme elements, derivations which lead better understanding for use in daily life. The aim of this article to study the process of Arabic language formation and the change of word pattern which had implemented. It involved the elements of word formation such involving of morpheme elements, inflections, derivations and some other components. A qualitative method approached by analysing the content through the reading of scientific materials such as books, articles, and newspaper. The results of the study found that a word in Arabic was formed by using the root word as the basis for publishing a new word pattern. Learning through the gamification method can bring the students directly closer to real experienc... more Learning through the gamification method can bring the students directly closer to real experience. Students have the opportunity to improve their ability to remember, increase sensitivity to interaction process and possess the capability to objectively analyse a situation. The purpose of this article is to introduce a type of gamification to strengthen Sarf (morphology), in addition to tracking improvement in Sarf competency after implementing the gamification method at Miri National Religious Secondary School (SMKAMi) in the 2017 Malaysian Certificate of Examination (SPM). This research uses a qualitative method and data was taken mainly from the Arabic Morphology Diagnostic Test (UDMA) and through the instrument of interview using WhatsApp application (voice message or voice recording). Two teachers were involved in the interview session: Head of Arabic Language Committee and an Arabic language teacher who teaches Form 5. The data obtained were transcribed in writing and descriptively analysed. Research findings show an improved achievement in Arabic language subject of the 2017 SPM by 1.09 with Average Grade of Subjects (GPMP) of 3.64 compared to 4.73 of the previous year. Research results show that the gamification method can resolve student weakness in Sarf, especially in remembering the verb and noun patterns and their derivatives, besides increasing student engagement, creating fun and fostering a positive attitude through game activity. The implications of this research will open the space for research on gamification designs appropriate for strengthening Nahu and Sarf with a high prospect for their application in the context of Arabic language education.

Students are confused and do not understand Arabic grammar as it contains complex concepts and terminology to be understoond. One aspect of language styles in Arabic grammar is al-tawkid. al-Tawkid or termed 'assertion words' in the Malay language is an important one to be understood in the discussion of languange grammar. This contrastive study is necessary in order to help students' understanding of the language style of tawkid in Arabic language. The main objective of this study is to identify the style of language al-tawkid in Malay and Arabic languages, to analyze aspects of the similarities and differences between both. This study is expected to solve problems in the teaching and learning of Arabic as a foreign language in Malaysia in particular.

Pelajar keliru dan tidak memahami tatabahasa Arab kerana ia mengandungi konsep dan istilah yang rumit untuk difahami. Salah satu aspek yang terdapat dalam tatabahasa Arab ialah gaya bahasa al-tawkid. al-Tawkid atau diistilahkan sebagai 'kata penegas' atau 'kata penguat' dalam bahasa Melayu merupakan salah satu tatabahasa yang penting untuk difahami. Kajian kontrastif ini perlu dilakukan bagi membantu kefahaman para pelajar mengenai gaya bahasa al-tawkid bahasa Arab. Students have the opportunity to improve their ability to remember, increase sensitivity to interaction process and possess the capability to objectively analyse a situation. The purpose of this article is to introduce a type of gamification to strengthen Sarf (morphology), in addition to tracking improvement in Sarf competency after implementing the gamification method at Miri National Religious Secondary School (SMKAMi) in the 2017 Malaysian Certificate of Examination (SPM). This research uses a qualitative method and data was taken mainly from the Arabic Morphology Diagnostic Test (UDMA) and through the instrument of interview using WhatsApp application (voice message or voice recording). Two teachers were involved in the interview session: Head of Arabic Language Committee and an Arabic language teacher who teaches Form 5. The data obtained were transcribed in writing and descriptively analysed. Research findings show an improved achievement in Arabic language subject of the 2017 SPM by 1.09 with Average Grade of Subjects (GPMP) of 3.64 compared to 4.73 of the previous year. Research results show that the gamification method can resolve student weakness in Sarf, especially in remembering the verb and noun patterns and their derivatives, besides increasing student engagement, creating fun and fostering a positive attitude through game activity. The implications of this research will open the space for research on gamification designs appropriate for strengthening Nahu and Sarf with a high prospect for their application in the context of Arabic language education.
