Vintage 1950s GUIDO GAMBONE Rare Studio Pottery Jug or Vase with Figurative Handle

A rare and and remarkable studio pottery jug or handled vase by mid-century Italian ceramic artist Guido Gambone (1909-1969). It features a striking dappled turquoise ground inset with leafy green linear designs on each side, as well as a whimsical handle in the shape of an open-armed figure with an upturned face. Truly, an exceptional piece. Signed to base with Gambone, and his donkey mark. In very good vintage condition, with minor surface wear commensurate with age and use. The glaze is crazed and pocked, as is deliberate of Gambone's work. There are no chips or cracks, and it presents very well, despite the head having been broken off and repaired, as seen in the last pic.
