I know the captions in a different language. This shows how overtime, the idea that the bigger the clothing wore was, the more attractive they were to men.

1570 Late renaissance fashion. Corsets become popular (their purpose is to give a conical shape to the torso, not to make the waist super small. They were actually quite comfortable and gave good support for the bust and the back, so they were worn by working classes as well). Under the influence of Elizabeth, codpieces start going out of fashion (men's look becomes more feminine, with soft lines, small waists, earrings, jewellery...) though many men still wear them
