I would give each kid a mirror so they could analyze their features, and then I’d give them many examples of how simple placement of the different facial features can convey not only likeness to self but also show emotions like anger, surprise, or tiredness. Pinar Sayin on Instagram: "What’s cooking here? This is the first time I am trying this technique, mono printing and will soon use it on my geometric teapots. Because I don’t like testing, I found this trick to test glazes or techniques on pieces that can be coasters in the end. So, I paint 2 layers of underglaze on paper, let dry thoroughly before applying on clay, so that I have the crack effects, apply on the clay with a damp sponge. Wait a bit for the clay to absorb the water and underglaze to settle. Most fun part is the peeling off the paper. Thanks to Amaco for such vibrant colors and see you again after firing!"

It’s transformed the lives of so many of the craftspeople and organizations that I look up to the most in my home state of North Carolina. Please, in whatever way you can, support those who have been affected and the organizations that are working hard to give them aid. Some of my heroes include: @cerfplus The Craft Emergency Relief Fund, which provides relief grants to craft artists @mudtools who make many of the pottery tools I use daily. They need support in rebuilding from the foundation up. @eastforkpottery A pottery company in Asheville that made the plate in this video and ALWAYS uplifts others in their community.
