Tired of flipping furniture only to see your hard work chip, peel, or look… well, meh? Here’s what you might be doing wrong and, more importantly, how to fix it: 1️⃣ Skipping Primer: Primer creates a strong bond so your paint doesn’t budge. No shortcuts here. Prime it right! 2️⃣ Using the Wrong Paint: Wall paint on furniture? Yikes. It can’t handle the bumps and scratches. Use a durable paint like One Hour Enamel. BUT, if you’re stuck with leftover latex paint, I’ve got a hack to make it furniture-friendly. Comment “TOOLS” to get it! 3️⃣ Using the Wrong Sandpaper Grit: Sand smarter, not harder. Use 80-1
27K views · 3.1K reactions | Here’s how I did it:👇🏼 Started by stripping the entire thing as best as I could. The plan was to restore the natural wood. I used a heat gun and scraper to get leftover paint that didn’t want to budge. Ultimately, I wasn’t able to leave it natural. The blue was imbedded into the wood grain. I covered the outdated design on the the door and filled in the ovals with bondo. I got this dresser for free and sold it for $650. Comment SUPPLIES and I’ll send you a list of supplies I used on this flip✨ #dressermakeover #dresserflip #furnituremakeover | molly harris | diy furniture flips | flippedbymolly · Original audio

DIY Nightstands Furniture Flip
How much better do these nightstands look now?? Here are the steps I took: - Remove old hardware - Clean with krud kutter - Scuff sand all over with 220 grit sandpaper - Fill in all damage with wood filler (I used Bondo all purpose putty) - Prime! I used Zinsser 1-2-3 Bulls Eye spray can primer - Fill in any damage again, sand down - Paint! I used a navy blue chalk paint here - Cut down wood moulding trim to frame out drawers and paint - Glue trim onto drawers, caulk the seams, and paint one more time - Seal - I'm using a finishing wax that's meant to go over chalk paint - Add new hardware and admire your project! Would you give this a try? It's such a good beginner friendly DIY project, let me know what you think!

82K views · 2.3K reactions | Recreating a $2,500 dresser 🤯 My sister fell in love with a $2,500 dresser from Pottery Barn, but I knew I could recreate it for a fraction of the price! I had this beautiful Kent Coffey dresser in our storage unit, and thought it was the perfect base to start with. (It had a LOT of damage. Peeling veneer, and lots of gluing / repair that needed done) I got the dresser from @facebookmarketplace for $75, and then put a little over $100 worth of materials into it. So for a total of under $200, I think we did pretty good! I don’t know about you, but I’d gladly pay $200 for a solid wood piece, over a $2,500 piece… ANYDAY! Let me know what you think in the comments! Ps. You can comment “LINK” for a list of everything I used on the flip, or “GUIDE” and I’ll send you my Furniture Flipping for Beginners guide! 🫶🏼 #diy #furnituremakeover #paintedfurniture #dressermakeover | Salvaged By Sammie
238K views · 7.7K reactions | Does money make you happy? #furnitureflip #furnitureflipper #beforeandafterfurniture #refurbish #diyfurnituremakeover#furnituremakeover #DIY | By Flip Hut | I'm going to turn these free nice sands into $350 dollars. Come along. And how am I going to do that? I'm going to slap some paint on them and list them on Facebook Marketplace. And then hopefully I can trick somebody into buying them. Spoiler. I did trick somebody into buying them. So let me show you how I did it so you can do it too. Let's get into it shall we? When I first got these nice sands I thought they'd been flipped before. I mean there were sand marks against the grain. The white wash had been dripped everywhere. They looked very immature. But turns out the manufacturer just did a poopy job because I saw the exact same set on the Facebook marketplace. Now I won't say any names but if anyone purchased these nice sands at full price you got Sand time. Then I'm going to show you the biggest reason why. These are pints who I expected to have to fill a lot. This is just round one. What I didn't expect to have to do was level out the tops. See the tops made of solid wood surrounding a layer of veneer in the center. This is a common practice to save money on materials even though the customers probably not saving any money on the price. You get got. But in this scenario I got got because they did such a bad job laying the veneer that I had to flatten out this entire time. But I did it because I don't get got. I go get. Sealing all my frustrations with some primer and then Don't forget. And then fill again. And again. And again until it's perfect. Second coat of primer. Sit back and admire. Go Amanda. Go Amanda. Do the other one. Go shawty. It's your birthday. We're going to party like it's your birthday. Let that dry. Add new hardware holes. Now let's address the elephant in the room. These butt ugly bun feet. Wee. Wee. Wee. What in the hell is that? Come here and look at this. I hope whoever did this was fired. That's all I have to say. Glue and clamp. Of course I'm adding new legs. But in order to do that I have to reinforce the base a little bit. Cuz we do things right around here. Right Dad? Right. So since I'm adding the legs here I need support. I'm going to add in some extra blocks for the feet to rest on. But in order to do that I've gotta cut this one at an angle. So it took the angle of it. Touch this cool angle reader to the table saw. And turn the blade till we got what we need. Now Father do the honor. And you get something like this. Now put it all together. Glue and screw baby. Lots of glue. You can never have enough. And so this doesn't happen again. We're going to pilot our holes. Pilot. Pilot. Pilot. Pilot. Then screw it in. Yep. That's how you use a drill. Then it's finally time to paint. Please don't be ugly. Please don't be ugly. Just kidding. Nothing I do is ugly. But I also use it on this dresser last week. I asked you guys if I should make these nightstands into a matching set. So I did what you guys wanted. Here's a matching set. But it didn't even matter that I made them a matching set because they sold separately. How ironic. But I like the record to show that I am a woman of the people. Anyway, paint colors, smokey tote by Benjamin Moore, brand-new aged breast heart. These girls are looking good in their new legs and I've officially turned this into that and that into this. Wow.
