The Performance Evaluation of Catfish Hatchery Business in Maguan Village, Ngajum Subdistrict, Malang Regency, East Java

The aims of the research are to know and to analyze the performance of catfish hatchery business ... more The aims of the research are to know and to analyze the performance of catfish hatchery business in Desa Maguan viewed from the perspective of finance and non finance. The research use survey method with qualitative and quantitative descriptive research. The result show that the business performance is 77,44% in "very healthy" condition with A category. The business in financial perspective has very good performance with AA category with score 93,75. The strategy in financial perspective are they need to increase net profit with productive investment (adding pond) and to minimize costs. From the perspective of customers, this business has a poor performance compared to other perspectives with the BBB category with a score of 56.25%. The strategy in customer perspective is they need to enhance customer satisfaction which can be obtained by looking ahead of product, price, promotion, and place. On the internal business perspective, the business has a pretty good performance with A category with a score of 70%. The strategy in internal business perspective are they should be keeping quality standards on fish fry, adding new pond, and giving aftersales service. In the learning and growth perspective has a very good performance with the category of AA with a score of 91.7%. The strategy should be achieved to maintain and to improve learning and growth perspective is improvement of employee's satisfaction by giving bonus and accompany employees while they are working.

The condition of the Human Development Index (HDI) and the Gender Development Index (GDI) in Indo... more The condition of the Human Development Index (HDI) and the Gender Development Index (GDI) in Indonesia as a whole shows an increase. However, there is still a gender gap. HDI and GDI analysis is needed to evaluate gender gaps. This study aims to 1) analyze the differences in HDI in provinces with coastal ownership; 2) analysis of the factor that influence on HDI; 3) analysis of the differences between the HDI of women and men; 4) analyze the dominant factors affecting HDI. The results showed that there was a difference between the HDI in provinces with coastal villages <200 and> 200. HDI of provinces that had coastal villages <200 was higher than those> 200. Factors affecting HDI were life expectancy, length of school rate, expected length of school and purchasing power parity. There are differences in the HDI of women and men. The most dominant factor affecting HDI is expected length of school. The conclusion of this research is that there is still a gender gap as reflected in the differences in provincial HDI based on coastal villages and the HDI of women and men, the factors that influence HDI are life expectancy, length of school rate, expected length of school, number of coastal villages and purchasing power parity between men and women. To reduce the gender gap by increasing the GDI in coastal rural-based areas. It can be done by increasing the factors that make up the HDI for women at least equal to or higher than men.

Respondents of this research are 60 long line vessels with criteria above 50 GT. This research method use qualitative and quantitative descriptive. This research show that the implementation of transhipment policy reduce the catching fishery production by 15% and Tuna commodity by 26%. The impact of transhipment policy also reduce the business performance. This results show that sailing trip is decrease. Otherwise, catching tonage, sizing output and earning are decrease. Effectiveness of transhipment policy on the input and process with indicator of performance very good and so do the output. Constrain factors on implementation of transhipment policy are businessman can not fulfill standart product of freshness, otherwise there is regulation of fishery transhipment activities for carrying fishing vessels yet.

Research on the behavior of a mangrove ecotourism system is needed as a basis for management to provide sustainable benefits. This study aimed to describe the conceptualization of a mangrove ecotourism system, formulate a mangrove ecotourism model and formulate a scenario for Kampung Blekok mangrove ecotourism in Situbondo Regency. This study used a quantitative analysis with a dynamic system approach to see the behavior of the ecotourism system on the economic and ecological dimensions. The research results on the conceptualization of the ecotourism system with causal loop diagrams showed that the economic subsystem was composed of response variables in the form of ecotourism management income and community business income in ecotourism areas and gross regional domestic product. Meanwhile, the ecological subsystem consisted of response variables in mangroves' death, planting, and rehabilitation. Model formulation with stock-flow diagrams demonstrated the relationship between response variables to explain the system. In the economic subsystem, the variable of community business acceptance had the highest sensitivity that could affect ecotourism income. While in the ecological subsystem, the highest sensitivity was on the variable of mangrove planting, which could affect the density of mangroves. The combination of economic subsystem scenarios optimized tourist visits and streamlined spending. The combination of ecological subsystem scenarios that became the priority was the addition of mangrove seedlings and controlling pests that caused the death of mangrove seedlings. Stakeholders are expected to synergize with each other in managing activities in ecotourism. Apart from exploiting their economic potential, the community and the private sector are also expected to participate in maintaining compliance with regulations to preserve mangroves. The government should monitor and enforce regulations related to ecotourism and support the development of mangrove ecotourism so that its benefits are sustainable.

Quantitative research methods used in this study with the total number of respondents were 43 farmers. The feasibility analysis of financial using NPV, B/C, IRR, and PP. The sensitivity analysis using the assumption of rising costs, decreasing costs as well as the acceptance and receipt changes simultaneously. The results showed that the value of NPV was IDR 14.083.504, B/C were 3.07, IRR was 54% and PP was 1.84 years. So that it can be said that the gouramy culture was infeasible condition. The gouramy culture conditions were sensitive to the cost increases to 30%. The decline of revenue caused the business in unfeasible condition until 21%. Whereas, the combination of these two conditions within costs increase to 16% and a decrease to 10% caused the business in unfeasible condition.

Indonesia can increase the export value through increase level participation of the community in seaweed processing. This study aims to analyze the level of community participation in seaweed processing in Indonesia, especially on Madura Island as one of the biggest seaweeds producing regions in Indonesia. The study uses descriptive method. The results show that the level of community participation in seaweed processing is categorized in manipulation level or low level. In order to increase community participation, collaboration of all relevant parties, namely government, academia and the private sectorare is needed to support the improvement of the community's ability to add value to seaweed.

Sustainable welfare is influenced by the quality of human resources. Human quality indicators are measured by 3 dimensions, namely health, education and economy. Of the 3 dimensions for coastal villages the lowest is the level of education and economy. Solving economic problems is influenced by the level of education. The community's economy will increase along with the increase in education. Therefore this study aims to analyze the key factors in improving education in Madura coastal villages. Research with a quantitative approach with analysis using the MICMAC method. The data was obtained from a questionnaire that had been provided and filled in by experts in the field of education in Madura. The results showed that the key factors ranked in the top 5 for improving education in Madura Coastal Villages were a) School fees, b) Parental support, c) Environmental factors in coastal communities, d) counseling on the importance of education and e) parental support. To improve education in Madura coastal villages, it is suggested 1) There is a free school policy for primary and secondary education; 2) scholarship program for higher education; 3) social environment with social aspect empowerment programs; 4) natural environment with economic transformation; 5) counseling program on the importance of continuing education; 6) parental motivation with the success story method from families whose children have become successful people due to increased education.

However, to date, research investigating about risks mitigation on supply chain especially on supplier relationship management based on relational view is limited. Therefore, to fill this gap, this study aims to describe the risks, analyse them, and then formulate the risks mitigation through a relational view approach among the actors of the tuna supplier relationship management in East Java of Indonesia. The respondents of this study were actors, i.e.: the manager of agro-industry, fishermen, middlemen, academician, and government officers of the fishery department. The data were analysed through the integration of the Interpretive Structural Model (ISM)-House of Risk (HOR)-Analytical Network Process (ANP). The findings showed that there were some risk groups that fall to the category of driver power, such as bad weather, fish migration season, and the shortage of fish caught. The high-risk agents were the use of instinct in forecasting the weather and fish seasons, the lack of post-fishing cooling facilities, the use of instinct in determining fishing grounds, and the imbalance of the trading system. The priority of the recommended risk prevention actions from this study are sharing substantial knowledge about technology, investing in partner fishing gear, sharing substantial knowledge about innovation, making agreements with partners, and maintaining intensive interactions with partners. Stakeholders in the supply chain, i.e: the manufacturer, middlemen, fishermen need to collaborate in managing the risks to improve the competitiveness of the product.

Gender Development Index can be used for human development analysis. The GDI value is the ratio between the human development index of women and men. Human development problems in coastal rural-based areas are a very complex system. The method of data analysis by the systems approach is a dynamic systems model. A dynamic system is a methodology that focuses on policy-making and how the policy determines the behavior of problems that can be dynamically modeled by the system. The purpose of this study is to analyze a gender development policy scenario with a dynamic system model. Data was collected from secondary sources, namely from the book Gender-based Human Development. The results of the analysis show the best scenario in a coastal rural-based area. The best scenario for the policy are expected number of school years-female = 13.5 years, length of school rate _female = 12 years, purchasing_power _female = 16.3 (ln 12,000,000) from the fact 15.79 (ln 7,171,000). Tilapia is one of the fisheries commodities favoured by the people. This research intends to describe and analyse the strategies for tilapia cultivation development based local economy. Research methods used quantitative and qualitative descriptive approaches. The results of this research indicated that some of the steps taken by cultivators have so far been less than optimal, so that it greatly influences the local economy of the community. Some steps that need to be considered from the perspective of financial analysts and non-financial analysis. The economic analysis explains that if there is an increase in production costs is a significant effect on income. From a non-financial perspective, farmers need to optimum utilize government support for maintaining a product and service quality.

Phillips Seafoods Indonesia Pasuruan to fulfill basic material of crab. The data are collected by observation and interview. The methods to analyze data are by descriptive qualitative and descriptive quantitative. The result of this research is the multinational firm that walk straight into fishery which is crab can as the primary product. Analyzing of performance of firm in technical aspect is start from receiving to stuffing/ loading process; planning, organizing, moving, and supervising are included management aspect; in short-term financial aspect, the amount of capital Rp 7.957.362.500,-has capital gains about Rp 3.376.255.864,-in month; in social-economic aspect, this firm has some CSR progam; in environment aspect, this firm has UKL and UPL; in law aspect, this firm has the license and right certification; and the marketing aspect, its distribution strategy is to export its product to USA, Europe, and Australia with the fixed price Rp 122.808,-per can. The descriptions above are able to said that PT. Phillips Seafood Indonesia Pasuruan is eliglible and capable of developing. The SWOT analysis indicate that the firm is located in quadrant I, furthermore the usage strategy is proper SO strategy (strengths, oportunity), it means that it can make opportunities by the firm capabilities.

These data are analys using quantitative. Define the number of sampel and technique sampling is slovin method and purposive sampling respectively. Data are taken by interview, questionnaire, and documentation by type of data primary and secondary. This research result indicate respondent characteristic based on the age 45-55 years, the education level of senior high school graduate/ equivalent, cost of living for family members about 5-6 people and long-lasting experince about 1-10 years. The independent variable influence dependent variable significantly and those generate production function model Cobb-Douglass Y =-3,276 X1 0,148 X2 0,762 X3 0,340 D1 0,011 D2 0,075. Furthermore, the partial independent variable which influence dependent variable are large of area, financial capital, and employees. This research is able to give some suggestions: 1. The owner of the dried anchovy business applicate current technology, like drying machine in production process. 2. The government should give financial capital to improve anchovy production 3. The university is capable of supporting technology like anchovy drying machine.

This study used a quantitative analysis with a dynamic system approach to see the behavior of the ecotourism system on the economic and ecological dimensions. The research results on the conceptualization of the ecotourism system with causal loop diagrams showed that the economic subsystem was composed of response variables in the form of ecotourism management income and community business income in ecotourism areas and gross regional domestic product. Meanwhile, the ecological subsystem consisted of response variables in mangroves' death, planting, and rehabilitation. Model formulation with stock-flow diagrams demonstrated the relationship between response variables to explain the system. In the economic subsystem, the variable of community business acceptance had the highest sensitivity that could affect ecotourism income. While in the ecological subsystem, the highest sensitivity was on the variable of mangrove planting, which could affect the density of mangroves. The combination of economic subsystem scenarios optimized tourist visits and streamlined spending. The combination of ecological subsystem scenarios that became the priority was the addition of mangrove seedlings and controlling pests that caused the death of mangrove seedlings. Stakeholders are expected to synergize with each other in managing activities in ecotourism. Apart from exploiting their economic potential, the community and the private sector are also expected to participate in maintaining compliance with regulations to preserve mangroves. The government should monitor and enforce regulations related to ecotourism and support the development of mangrove ecotourism so that its benefits are sustainable.

Quantitative research methods used in this study with the total number of respondents were 43 farmers. The feasibility analysis of financial using NPV, B/C, IRR, and PP. The sensitivity analysis using the assumption of rising costs, decreasing costs as well as the acceptance and receipt changes simultaneously. The results showed that the value of NPV was IDR 14.083.504, B/C were 3.07, IRR was 54% and PP was 1.84 years. So that it can be said that the gouramy culture was infeasible condition. The gouramy culture conditions were sensitive to the cost increases to 30%. The decline of revenue caused the business in unfeasible condition until 21%. Whereas, the combination of these two conditions within costs increase to 16% and a decrease to 10% caused the business in unfeasible condition.

Sustainable welfare is influenced by the quality of human resources. Human quality indicators are measured by 3 dimensions, namely health, education and economy. Of the 3 dimensions for coastal villages the lowest is the level of education and economy. Solving economic problems is influenced by the level of education. The community's economy will increase along with the increase in education. Therefore this study aims to analyze the key factors in improving education in Madura coastal villages. Research with a quantitative approach with analysis using the MICMAC method. The data was obtained from a questionnaire that had been provided and filled in by experts in the field of education in Madura. The results showed that the key factors ranked in the top 5 for improving education in Madura Coastal Villages were a) School fees, b) Parental support, c) Environmental factors in coastal communities, d) counseling on the importance of education and e) parental support. To improve education in Madura coastal villages, it is suggested 1) There is a free school policy for primary and secondary education; 2) scholarship program for higher education; 3) social environment with social aspect empowerment programs; 4) natural environment with economic transformation; 5) counseling program on the importance of continuing education; 6) parental motivation with the success story method from families whose children have become successful people due to increased education.

However, to date, research investigating about risks mitigation on supply chain especially on supplier relationship management based on relational view is limited. Therefore, to fill this gap, this study aims to describe the risks, analyse them, and then formulate the risks mitigation through a relational view approach among the actors of the tuna supplier relationship management in East Java of Indonesia. The respondents of this study were actors, i.e.: the manager of agro-industry, fishermen, middlemen, academician, and government officers of the fishery department. The data were analysed through the integration of the Interpretive Structural Model (ISM)-House of Risk (HOR)-Analytical Network Process (ANP). The findings showed that there were some risk groups that fall to the category of driver power, such as bad weather, fish migration season, and the shortage of fish caught. The high-risk agents were the use of instinct in forecasting the weather and fish seasons, the lack of post-fishing cooling facilities, the use of instinct in determining fishing grounds, and the imbalance of the trading system. The priority of the recommended risk prevention actions from this study are sharing substantial knowledge about technology, investing in partner fishing gear, sharing substantial knowledge about innovation, making agreements with partners, and maintaining intensive interactions with partners. Stakeholders in the supply chain, i.e: the manufacturer, middlemen, fishermen need to collaborate in managing the risks to improve the competitiveness of the product.

However, there is still a gender gap. HDI and GDI analysis is needed to evaluate gender gaps. This study aims to 1) analyze the differences in HDI in provinces with coastal ownership; 2) analysis of the factor that influence on HDI; 3) analysis of the differences between the HDI of women and men; 4) analyze the dominant factors affecting HDI. The results showed that there was a difference between the HDI in provinces with coastal villages &lt;200 and&gt; 200. HDI of provinces that had coastal villages &lt;200 was higher than those&gt; 200. Factors affecting HDI were life expectancy, length of school rate, expected length of school and purchasing power parity. There are differences in the HDI of women and men. The most dominant factor affecting HDI is expected length of school. The conclusion of this research is that there is still a gender gap as reflected in the differences in provincial HDI based on coastal villages and the HDI of women and men, the factors that influence HDI are life expectancy, length of school rate, expected length of school, number of coastal villages and purchasing power parity between men and women. To reduce the gender gap by increasing the GDI in coastal rural-based areas. It can be done by increasing the factors that make up the HDI for women at least equal to or higher than men.

Human development problems in coastal rural-based areas are a very complex system. The method of data analysis by the systems approach is a dynamic systems model. A dynamic system is a methodology that focuses on policy-making and how the policy determines the behavior of problems that can be dynamically modeled by the system. The purpose of this study is to analyze a gender development policy scenario with a dynamic system model. Data was collected from secondary sources, namely from the book Gender-based Human Development. The results of the analysis show the best scenario in a coastal rural-based area. The best scenario for the policy are expected number of school years-female = 13.5 years, length of school rate _female = 12 years, purchasing_power _female = 16.3 (ln 12,000,000) from the fact 15.79 (ln 7,171,000). Tilapia is one of the fisheries commodities favoured by the people. This research intends to describe and analyse the strategies for tilapia cultivation development based local economy. Research methods used quantitative and qualitative descriptive approaches. The results of this research indicated that some of the steps taken by cultivators have so far been less than optimal, so that it greatly influences the local economy of the community. Some steps that need to be considered from the perspective of financial analysts and non-financial analysis. The economic analysis explains that if there is an increase in production costs is a significant effect on income. From a non-financial perspective, farmers need to optimum utilize government support for maintaining a product and service quality.

The methods to analyze data are by descriptive qualitative and descriptive quantitative. The result of this research is the multinational firm that walk straight into fishery which is crab can as the primary product. Analyzing of performance of firm in technical aspect is start from receiving to stuffing/ loading process; planning, organizing, moving, and supervising are included management aspect; in short-term financial aspect, the amount of capital Rp 7.957.362.500,-has capital gains about Rp 3.376.255.864,-in month; in social-economic aspect, this firm has some CSR progam; in environment aspect, this firm has UKL and UPL; in law aspect, this firm has the license and right certification; and the marketing aspect, its distribution strategy is to export its product to USA, Europe, and Australia with the fixed price Rp 122.808,-per can. These data are analys using quantitative. Define the number of sampel and technique sampling is slovin method and purposive sampling respectively. Data are taken by interview, questionnaire, and documentation by type of data primary and secondary. This research result indicate respondent characteristic based on the age 45-55 years, the education level of senior high school graduate/ equivalent, cost of living for family members about 5-6 people and long-lasting experince about 1-10 years. The independent variable influence dependent variable significantly and those generate production function model Cobb-Douglass Y =-3,276 X1 0,148 X2 0,762 X3 0,340 D1 0,011 D2 0,075. Furthermore, the partial independent variable which influence dependent variable are large of area, financial capital, and employees. This research is able to give some suggestions: 1. The owner of the dried anchovy business applicate current technology, like drying machine in production process. 2. The government should give financial capital to improve anchovy production 3. The university is capable of supporting technology like anchovy drying machine.
