Neantro Saavedra-Rivano
Professor Emeritus at the University of Tsukuba (Tsukuba, Japan), formerly Director of the Master’s Program in Economic and Public Policy Management (PEPPM) at the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Tsukuba. Currently, Visiting Professor at the University of Brasilia (Brazil). Graduate studies in mathematics and in economics at universities in Belgium (Louvain, 1966-7), France (Lille, 1966-8 and Paris, 1968-72) and the USA (Columbia, 1979-82) have led to a PhD in Mathematics from the University of Paris, and a PhD. in Economics from Columbia University. Main areas of specialization in economics are international economics, development economics, and mathematical simulation models. Many books and articles on regional integration, development economics, and Latin America economy, as well as on mathematical fields.Professional activities have included teaching and research posts in several universities and other institutions in Brazil, Chile, France, Korea, Spain, the USA, and Venezuela.
