This beautiful antique Georgian era, late 18th century mourning ring is truly a beautifully crafted piece. It features a beautiful large oval face housing a lock of plaited dark blonde hair bordering a cobalt blue enamel plaque with applied rose gold lettering with the initial B. The slightly domed glazing encloses this and is original to the ring, the reverse of the face has a closed back setting and is engraved with an inscription for the departed; William Bridge, Ob 4th Mar 1797 Ae 81. The ring has chunky gold shoulders, yellow gold with warm rosey tones and a closed back setting.  It comes in an antique leather bound ring box.  A true beauty, this would be a fantastic gift for the collector of mourning jewellery or as a gift to yourself.
