I didn’t really like how dark it was. I decided that I was going to find a way to whitewash the kitchen island, I just needed to figure out how to do it!

I always get asked “Can you modernize wood furniture without paint?” And the answer, YES I love wood furniture, but don’t always love a dark stain. This tan-washing technique is a cheap and easy way to update any furniture, without covering it up with paint! Follow the steps below, and comment “HUTCH” for a full product list! 1. Clean (Krud Kutter) 2. Strip (@kleanstripproducts) 3. Sand with 150 grit sandpaper (I use @surfprepsanding but any orbital sander will work as well!) 3. Mix 20% paint & 80% water (using @fusionmineralpaint “Algonquin” 4.
