American artist, Jean-Michel Basquiat, played an important and historic role in the rise of Punk Art and Neo-Expressionism.

Much of Jean-Michel Basquiat's art seems like that of one's inner child. Thus a "sweet" name like "Pez Dispenser" evokes child hood nostalgia. Note his signature crown dawned upon what looks like a T - Rex, the king of Dinosaurs.

Ok, so I recently discovered this guy Jean Michel Basquiat, this is who The Weeknd’s hair is inspired by for those who don’t already know. Pretty similar, I’m guessing this was one of The Weeknd’s idols.

Jean-Michel Basquiat (1960 – 1988) was an American artist. He gained popularity first as a graffiti artist in New York City, and then as a 1980s-era Neo-expressionist artist. Basquiat's paintings continue to influence modern-day artists and command high prices.
