OK - back in Mag court, 3 young defendants charged with armed robbery of a smoke shop in The #Bronx. Their parents are here - they don't seem like college professors, but they would sign to get sons released. Thread below
US Attorney's Office is seeking pre-trial detention of all three: their "trashing of the smokeshop" is cited. Hard not to compare this to agreed release today of Sam Bankman-Fried. What did #SBF trash? Discuss : )
Defendant Morgan's mother works for NY Housing: his stepfather works construction. Neither is a college professor. Morgan himself worked for FedEx and UPS - not for #FTX

OK- Now again in US v Saipov death penalty eligible case jury selection, Dec 23 past 4 pm. Judge Broderick says trial will start Jan 9, and run to end of March. Juror 707 has ticket to Jamaica March 23, heading down to email it to court. Thread below: story later.
Juror 707 has returned and is being excused, as is Juror 713 who answered "N/A" on questionnaire when asked for views on the death penalty.
It's past 5 pm, with jurors 714 and 720 still to be questioned, 723, 724 and 732 to be told to return another day. Questionnaire was in August, then fot a Jan 3 trial. Now with jury selection still not over, so trial pushed to Jan 9.

OK- now on Dec 23, in Magistrates Court @sdnylive for hearing on detained defendant Mr Dudley. Inner City Press is the only media here; 8 supporters in gallery. New info - jail calls to landlord. Threadette below Image
AUSA says defendant told his landlord in Brooklyn. He was not leave and must pay him. Landlord told prosecutors she felt he was accusing her of being an informant. FBI came with "bearcats and flash bang" grenades through apartment windows
Inner City Press reported on the earlier bail proceeding, releasing defendant to his father in New Jersey innercitypress.com/sdny106cfurman… which was upheld on appeal to Part I.

Judge: Isn't Mr. Scavino's tweet beyond the statute of limitations?
Counsel: No - but we are not trying to make him a defendant. We deposed Mr. Trump on June 9, & it was clear Mr. Scavino has 1st hand knowledge of the tweet & "Electric Avenue" anti-Biden tweet
Judge: It's clear Mr. Scavino will have to testify. I set up this conference to try to facilitate that. Serve the subpoena on him & we'll go from there, how ever long it takes.
