Dinwiddie calls Winnipeg the team that everyone is trying to model themselves after. That team used to be Calgary, he said, though it’s still a good organization.
Dinwiddie’s been asked a number of times about his tenure as a player in Winnipeg. He said he got a text from Kevin Glenn a few days ago, who works with the team’s third-string quarterback Ben Holmes.
Dinwiddie and O’Shea played against one another on Aug. 1, 2008. Dinwiddie was a playing for Winnipeg, O’Shea for Toronto.
On a related note, I hope that in 14 years there’s a Grey Cup in which Taylor Cornelius coaches the Hamilton Tiger-Cats against Simoni Lawrence and his Edmonton Elks.
Dinwiddie says that not all of McLeod Bethel-Thompson’s sideline outbursts have been excusable and he could have handled things better last week.
He also gave MBT a vote of confidence, saying he’ll keep his emotions in check on Sunday.
Dinwiddie says he hopes local fans aren’t selling their tickets to Winnipeg fans but understands that’ll probably be the case.
He’s hopeful that local fans will cheer for Toronto, which seems fair. They certainly won’t be cheering for Winnipeg.
“I love the Bombers. I love the city.”
Mike O’Shea says he remains committed to Winnipeg despite not being under contract for next year.
