Let's get Day 147 underway.
Almost 5 months since #PutinsWar on #Ukraine began and I've been documenting everything since I was in #Kyiv just before the first bombs dropped.
If you like the free, handy daily threads and can afford to buy me a coffee, please see my profile page.
Impossible to verify, but #Ukraine's 58th Motorise Infantry Brigade says it wiped out an entire group of #Russia's Wagner military contractors.
The General Staff would only say this happened "on the front line" and published photos of the badges and some Russian bodies:
Each evening almost a constant stream of missiles from #Russia heading in to #Ukraine.
Another 200 regular #Russian army troops have died on the killings fields on #Ukraine in the last 24 hours. All for the ego of a very small man in Moscow.
Also an unusually high 10 drones were downed yesterday.
However traffic is still able to cross despite the strike, but military vehicles are not being risked by #Russia.
Repair work is already underway by the occupiers.
Still in #Kherson, it seems there's a lot of concern from the occupiers.
Loads of equipment and military on the move, more checkpoints, stringent checking of all electronic equipment (phones, tablets) and reportedly electronic surveillance via mobile networks.
Meanwhile, more and more examples of #Russia burning crops in #Ukraine.
The new #Holodomor continues. Food is a weapon for Putin.
In recent days, more than 230 hectares of wheat was destroyed in the Berislav and Henichesk districts of #Kherson.
But, #Turkiye's President says he expects a deal on the export of grain from #Ukraine in days.
Erdogan "I have several times discussed this issue with Mr Putin + Mr Zelenskyy. Last week in Istanbul, an agreement was reached under the UN plan. This week we want a written text/"
⚡️Breaking⚡️
Unconfirmed - explosions reported near the nuclear power plant in #Enerhodar.
According to residents, thick black smoke rises
A state #Russia news agency just published this video
Just managed to find a video of the scene in #Horlivka (RU: #Gorlovka) where #Russia claims the city was smashed by 30 missiles fired from #Ukraine helicopters.
Despite the fact that the explosions in #Enerhodar earlier didn't seem to land in the ground of the Nuclear Power Plant, I am surprised to learn the occupiers claim 11 employees were wounded, four seriously🤔
If you have any questions about the war, I will be available online on Friday for The @Independent.
Catch me live between 2-3pm answering anything to do with Russia's invasion of #Ukraine. The link will be up tomorrow for you to leave your questions in advance and I'll post here
Safe corridors will allow civilian ships, but NOT Russian, to reach these ports safely.
Let's see if Russia honours its pledge.
#Ukraine confirms the attack on #Enerhodar, but refutes hitting the nuclear power plant.
Presidential spokesman Oleskiy Arestovych hinted they took out equipment which had been shelling #Nikopol from next to the NPP. He also says a large number of Russian personnel were killed.
I'll end Wednesday's thread with another positive story and short video.
This comes from #Mariupol where the exiled city adviser, Petro Andrushchenko, says resistance is growing and #Ukraine flags are being stuck all over the city.
#PutinsWar enters Day 148.
21 July: anniversary of man first walking on the moon and in exactly four months the opening match of the World Cup in Qatar will be about to kick off.
But this is the daily thread on #Russia's war in #Ukraine, updated real time so please read & share.

It's a depressing start to the day, with many attacks, shelling and deaths in #Ukraine.
Among the places worst hit - again - is #Kharkiv. The reign of terror continues by the invaders. Two died and 19 injured so far after attacks on residents.
Officials in #Kharkiv are still concealing the exact location of #Russia's strikes. However, one of the most populated areas was hit with #Ukraine alleging The Kremlin targeted transport stops and residential streets.
They also say they found evidence of cluster bombs:
Day 144 of #Russia's full scale invasion of its peaceful neighbour.
Updates throughout the day as stories unfold in #Ukraine and beyond.
First the British update shows #Russia concerned about #Ukraine's counter attack in the south
#Russia has still not taken total control of #Luhansk region despite the perception.
That's the point being made by #Ukraine's governor for the region. Serhiy Haidai says "two villages in Luhansk remain under 🇺🇦 control. Russians cannot overcome the few kilometres."
Welcome to Day 143 of #PutinsWar.
This daily thread aims to tell you everything you need to know about developments of #Russia's illegal invasion of #Ukraine and the heroic defence to keep 🇺🇦 free.
Updates may be a little slower/less frequent today as I am driving to London for UK premiére of #Ukraine film #SlovoHouse in Leicester Sq
About artists suppressed under Stalin, it's very relevant now & headlines the closing gala at the @iwilltell festival
1/2 Tomorrow will be 8 years to the day since #Russia blasted passenger jet #MH17 out of the sky. 300 innocents died from numerous countries inc UK, but mainly Dutch; families going on holiday
The Kremlin came up with repeated versions of "what happened" each new story proving..
#Russia closing in on #Siversk in eastern #Ukraine's #Donbas region according to UK Intel.
