So, what's the connection between #DPGs and a just, #inclusive #DigitalTransformation? Why have so many #donors, national #governments, and #tech experts alike expressed interest in #DPG solutions?

Well, they all agree that #DigitalTransformation is at a tipping point globally, with the divisions between wealthy and developing nations especially stark: 96% of the world's unconnected people live in developing countries.
#Digitalization provides an unprecedented opportunity to deliver critical #government services at societal-scale, #inclusive of all populations. This β¬οΈ innovation in the public and private sectors and can, in theory,π data in ways that further fuel innovation and empower people
Despite the critical role of #PoliticalWill in successful #DigitalTransformations (and as seen at the event!), there are four other central factors: #policy, #pricing #procurement, #product, and #people. 
#Investment and #coordination are needed for all five Ps. A just #DigitalTransformation is complex and costly, and it requires sustained support to see it through. However, many #donors expressed their prioritization of a #solution with great potential for #scale and #adaptation
Enter #DPGs: #Government use of DPGs like #OpenSource #software and #open software #standards can β© closing the #DigitalDivide and advance the #SDGs, all while contributing to a #DigitalEcosystem that empowers people and enables public and private sector #innovation πͺπͺ
In order to make the opportunities for improved #health, #education, #ClimateResilience services (and more!) presented by #DigitalTransformation a reality, #governments, #CivilSociety and public and private institutions must prioritize and support #DPGSolutions
However, developing and maintaining the #tech aren't the only steps for #DPGSolutions! βοΈ
#Digital #policy, #regulatory, and #legal #frameworks must be established to ensure #tech #investments are grounded in the interest of the people, and should be developed #collaboratively!

This is probably a good time to point out that from 2015-19, #DevelopmentFinance for #Digitalization more than tripled π not only did the stakeholders at today's event echo the @OECD report's call for urgent global #cooperation on #DPGs; they've been investing in it, too π

With @DPGAlliance, we're excited to announce the #DigitalPublicGoods Charter, an effort to mobilize high-level stakeholder commitments, #investments, and actions to advance the use of #DPGs by countries to build safe, trusted, and inclusive #DigitalPublicInfrastructure at scale.
This work is meant to improve the outcomes of #DigitalServices for people and societies at large.

Global #cooperation is required to manage the interconnected risks of a just #DigitalTransformation for all, and the #DPG Charter presents a timely opportunity to bring stakeholders from across sectors together to shape this transformation through the use of #DPGs.
As we heard from diverse stakeholders at today's @OECD event, the time to make concerted, committed efforts and #investments to advance the use of #DPGs is now.
