Connecticut, Minnesota, Vermont, and Wisconsin are holding Congressional primaries today and Georgia is holding primary runoff elections for several House seats.
In Connecticut, Democrats hold all 5 House seats and none are facing primary challengers. Republicans will challenge Democrats this fall in all 5 seats with 2 primaries in 1st and 2nd Districts held today. GOP winners will face Reps. Larson and Courtney respectively in November.
In Minnesota, #MNSen primary elections are being held today. 1st term Democratic Senator Tina Smith face four DFL primary challengers and 5 Republican candidates including former Rep. Jason Lewis who was endorsed by President Trump are running to be their party's nominee.
9-member Minnesota Congressional delegation currently includes six Democrats and three Republicans. All nine House incumbents are running for re-election this fall.
1st term #MN05 Rep. Ilhan Omar is facing four Democratic challengers today including Antone Melton-Meaux for the Minneapolis area House seat.
10th term #MN04 Democratic Rep. Betty McCollum, a senior House Appropriator, is facing four DFL primary challengers for the St. Paul area House seat.
In #MN06, 3rd term Rep. Tom Emmer, chair of NRCC, faces Republican primary challenger Patrick Munro, who unsuccessfully challenged him in 2016 and 2018 primary elections, for the outer Twin Cities suburbs/St. Cloud area House seat.
15th term #MN07 Democratic Rep Collin Peterson, House Ag Cmte Chair, faces 2 primary challengers. He last won reelection to western MN House seat w/52.1% in 2018. 5 Republicans includ fmr LtGov Michelle Fischbach & 2018 nominee Dave Hughes are running to be GOP nominee this fall.
In #MN08, 1st term GOP Pete Stauber is facing primary challenger Harry Welty with the winner facing Democratic nominee Quinn Nystrom in the fall. Stauber flipped the Duluth/Iron Range area House seat to Republican in 2018, defeating DFL nominee Joe Radinovich in open seat race.
In Wisconsin, seven of the eight House incumbents, three Democrats and four Republicans, are running for re-election this year. 21st term #WI05 Republican Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner is not seeking reelection this fall.
12th term #WI03 Democratic Rep. Ron Kind faces primary challenger Mark Neumann for the western central Wisconsin district. Kind won reelection in 2018 with 59.6% of the vote. Republicans will choose between Derrick Van Orden and Jessi Ebben to be their party's nominee this dall.
There's an open House race in #WI05 district with 21st term GOP Rep Jim Sensenbrenner not seeking reelection. Democratic nominee Tom Palzewicz will face the winner of today's Republican primary between Scott Fitzgerald and Cliff DeTemple in the fall for Milwaukee NW suburbs seat.
In Vermont, 7th term At-Large Democratic Rep. Peter Welch faces primary challenger Ralph Corbo, who is also on Democratic primary ballot for governor today. Welch last won reelection to Congress in 2018 with 69.2% of the vote.
#GA09 primary runoff elections are being held today for open northeast Georgia House seat, currently held by 4th term GOP Rep. Doug Collins who is running for US Senate. Republicans will choose between Matt Gurtler & Andrew Clyde and Democrats between Brooke Siskin & Devin Pandy.
In #GA14,Republicans Marjorie Taylor Greene & John Cowan are running in primary runoff election today to succeed retiring senior House Appropriator GOP Rep. Tom Graves,1st elected to Congress in 2010. Winner will face Democratic nominee Kevin Van Ausdal for NW GA Rome area seat.
In #GA01, Democrats Lisa Ring & Joyce Marie Griggs are running in primary runoff election today. The winner will face 3rd term GOP Rep. Buddy Carter in fall election. Carter defeated Ring in 2018 election with 57.7% of the vote for southeastern GA Savannah/Hinesville area seat.
