The "warrior of water", Waver (ウェーバー Wēbā) is the deputy commander of Multiforce, tempering commander Wing's brashness with intelligence and kindness, usually as the lower half of the duo's Wingwaver form. His ability to manipulate currents allows his to wash away his foes with ease.

When he's not battling Decepticons or heading up one of the team's new technology projects, he can usually be found giving boat rides to human children, being particularly fond of -and protective of- Earth's youngsters.

Voice actor: Yoshikazu Hirano ("Sneak Attack! Dinoking", Japanese), Shinobu Satouchi ("Jan - Defend the Campus!!", Japanese)

During an attack on Wingwaver in space, Waver turned into a boat and sat on a metal beam. Sneak Attack! Dinoking During an attack on a power plant, Waver turned into a boat and sat on the beach. During an attack on a man-made island, Waver did NOT turn into a boat and evacuate people. Go figure. One time he was able to drive across the ground in boat mode. Huh. Awaken! Victory Leo

Micromaster

While testing out stealth technology, Waver and the rest of the Multiforce stumbled through a dimensional rift that brought them years into the past. There, Micromasters battled over Mount St. Hillary, where Optimus Prime, Megatron, and their troops slumbered within the Ark. Before Wing could introduce him to the local Autobots, the Multiforce had to head out to meet a Decepticon threat. He combined with Wing to form Wingwaver and helped taking on the Decepticon Sixbuilders. Waver then combined with the rest of the Multiforce into Landcross to send Berserker Sixwing packing. The Menace of Landcross's Combining Formation!

Ask Vector Prime

The Multiforce followed the normal flow of time to return to their native period, making sure to not interfere with events they knew had to transpire. To this end, they avoided the other Transformers and explored the Skomiloch Territories and clashed with the Predators. Their journey enabled them to be able to stop the Praetorian from using the corrupted Reconfiguration Matrix to rewrite all robotic life in the Vega Sector into loyal Scrapmetal. Victory comic

The Multiforce was summoned to Earth by Star Saber and battled Dinoking as Landcross. After defeating Dinoking, Landcross separated in order to swarm Deathsaurus with superior numbers. So Cool! Our Ally, Star Saber!

After having lost a battle to Deathsaurus as Landcross, and being subsequently rescued by Star Saber, Waver helped rescue the animals hurt by the forest fire caused by the Decepticon Emperor. Great Reversal! Star Saber

Waver also fought against the Decepticons inside their space base as it was raining down meteors onto the Earth. The war ended peacefully with a truce between both factions. The Grand Victory War

Fight! Super Robot Lifeform Transformers

"I'm sticking with leg-boats!"
  • ID number: C-316
  • Accessories: "Multi-Waver Gun", "Punch Part B" Landcross left fist
  • Known designers: Kōjin Ōno (TakaraTomy)
Sold in a two-pack with his partner Wing in the Victory portion of Takara's Fight! Super Robot Lifeform Transformers toyline, Waver transforms into a very chunky hydrofoil jet of unknown, possibly made-up design. A 5 mm post on top of his boat mode lets the "Punch Part B" Landcross fist mount on top as a ridiculously huge roof-mounted cannon. Sadly, there is no graceful place to mount his "Multi-Waver Gun" in boat mode.
He can also transform into either the upper or lower half of a two-robot combiner, with a different head revealed when he forms the upper half of a combination. Of course, his nominal combination is with his pack-in partner Wing, forming the lower half of Wingwaver.
He can also also form the lower torso to the team's combined form Landcross. Theoretically he can form any limb of the combiner as well (as they all share the same general engineering and transformation scheme), but he's the only one in the team that has the proper connections to attach leg-bots or the super robot hip-plate in that role... plus he lacks 5 mm holes in his feet, which ironically prevent him from attaching Landcross's footplates or fists, you know, like the one he comes with.
In 1995, the three Multiforce two-packs were released in mainland China as part of the severely-delayed Hasbro-distributed Chinese Transformers toyline. They came in slightly-modified versions of their original packaging, with the characters' names now written in Chinese, and the Japanese Transformers logo replaced with a similarly styled Chinese language logo saying "Battles of Victory" (胜利之斗争). They toys themselves are also slightly modified, with their molded-on legal/manufacturing information blotted out and modified to remove Takara's name.

  • Landcross (Multiforce gift set, 1989)
  • ID number: C-319
  • Accessories: "Multi-Waver Gun", "Punch Part B" Landcross left fist
  • Known designers: Kōjin Ōno (TakaraTomy)
Waver was also available in a gift set containing the entire Multiforce team. All of the toys in this set are physically identical to their individual releases.
However, this set does not include the bio/trading cards for any of the component duos, only the combined Landcross mode.

Micromaster

  • Waver (DX Micromaster, 2002)
  • Micromaster ID number: 2
  • Accessories: "Multi-Waver Gun", "Punch Part B" Landcross left fist
Released in the final wave of Micromaster as a "DX Micromaster", this reissue of Waver was sold in a single-bot box. The box has a small hole in the front to show a number printed on the instructions, revealing which toy is inside.
Though this release (mostly) retains his plastic colors (the black joints are now dark gunmetal), his extra deco has changed. In robot mode, his face is now silver with yellow eyes, and his torso sticker now features a few extra details. In boat mode, his windscreen is a brighter blue, plus an Autobot symbol was added to the left side of his hull.
This release also changes up his construction slightly, with the wheels on his legs now on the opposite sides of the mounting struts, presumably to hide them better in boat mode.

  • Waver Stealth Mode (DX Micromaster, 2002)
  • Micromaster ID number: 2
  • Accessories: "Multi-Waver Gun", "Punch Part B" Landcross left fist
A special "chase" version of Waver was also available, in mostly black plastic and minimal paint operations; though Waver retains his chest sticker, the colors on it have changed.
All six members were available in "Stealth Mode", but only two out of every twelve toys in a case were black versions, and which two the case had was randomized. And no, you can't peek in through the hole in the box to see if it's a chase or not, as the instructions block it off.
