Who is the captain?

Vehicons are generic Decepticon Kreons who embody all the qualities an evil leader would want in their troops: they're loyal, punctual and never talk back.[1]

Kre-O cartoon

Several Vehicons took part in an operation to make Megatron a grilled cheese sandwich. One of them helped capture Wheeljack and Cliffjumper, only to be pelted by molten cheese and tied up in a net with the other Decepticons. Quest for Energon, Part 2

Hundreds of Vehicons participated in a giant, all-out battle against the Autobots. They took a break to allow Optimus Prime to recap the live-action film series to the audience. Throughout Optimus's presentation, they assemble props to enhance the experience. The Vehicons resumed their fighting with the Autobots afterwards over a pepperoni pizza. A bunch of Vehicons were helping Lockdown put together the Galvatron Factory Battle set when Grimlock stomped down on the scene. Though they tried to flee in terror, many Vehicons wound up in Grimlock's mouth and got chewed up. One of the Vehicons even complained "Not again... (or "Oh come on!")" upon getting snagged in Grimlock's maw. The other two Vehicons shivering in fear, hiding behind a wall before Grimlock could destroy it. Kre-O Dino Force commercial

At least one Vehicon was one of the Decepticons who joined Megatron in the Nemesis to chase the Autobots in the Ark. After they boarded the Ark, it crashed to Earth and the Transformers fell to a four million year-long sleep. They woke up to a world filled with blocks. Kreon Story

Kre-O

  • Decepticon Ambush (2012)
    • Set number: 38781
    • Pieces: 80
    • Kreons: Cliffjumper, 3 Vehicons
This set featuring Cliffjumper busting through a Decepticon checkpoint comes with three Vehicon Kreons. While each one uses the same base body and tampographs, each one is slightly different from the others; one comes with wheels on his legs, another has a Shockwave wrist-mounted blaster, and one has Wheeljack wings on his back and the Starscream arm-mounted blasters.
All three Vehicons use the same helmet as Megatron.

I dunno! Is it Dennis Hopper, Meryl Streep Dennis Hopper, or Meryl Streep?
  • Vehicon (Kreon Micro-Changer, 2013)
    • Collection: 2
    • Bag number: ***** 71
    • Accessories: Large Rifle
Part of the second regular collection of Micro-Changer Kreons, Vehicon is a blind-bagged mini-figure. He comes with extra parts to convert him into a car.
This Collection was still in circulation at "dollar" stores and drug stores up through 2015. They eventually lost the individual-identifying bag codes, but other changes were hidden inside the bag. The 2015 releases replaced the 2x4 logo stand-brick with a new 3x4 logo plate. The Kreon was also given the slight retooling to the arm seen in the 2014 Kreons, making the "cuff" parts more sharp-cornered and better adapted to being used as studs. Some of the add-on pieces may also be slightly off-color, possibly due to a change in factories in mid-production.

  • Brick Box (2015)
    • Set number: B2579
    • Pieces: 82
    • Accessories: Scoped pistol, "Ultimate Dark Energon weapon" cannon part
Part of the "red box" line for discount stores in the US like Dollar General and Big Lots, this "Brick Box" is just the "Decepticon Ambush" set repackaged and sold for a mere $5. Good deal! As with all the Brick Boxes, this set lacks the instruction manual. It does retain the decals for the ATV and light post, however.

  • Vehicon (Kreon Micro-Changer, 2016)
    • Collection: 2
    • Accessories: Logo plate, large rifle
In 2016, Micro-Changers Collection 2 was re-released in a whole new production run for Dollar General stores in the US as part of a large collection of re-released Kre-O sets. But where most of these releases are nigh-identical to the originals, the re-released Micro-Changer blind-bags use the almost-entirely-retooled 2015 Kreon, with slightly-differently-hued plastics than the originals. (It is possible for some of the add-on pieces to be in the older hues.) Vehicon's tampographs underwent a slight color change, replacing the light gray with shiny silver, changing the black Decepticon symbol to purple, and making the blue on his legs a darker shade.
Sadly, this release has no individual-identification code on the bag, requiring you to use the feel-through-the-bag method or just buy blind and hope.

You got to go ask our...Captain! Maybe it's me?
A blue Vehicon Kreon is included in this set. The helmets used on the Vehicons are (mostly) unique to them and feature magnetic metal strips. This Vehicon, along with all the others in the Age of Extinction line, wear magnetic backpacks. The set also comes with buildable Dinobot beast Strafe.

  • Dinobot Charge (Age of Extinction, 2014)
    • Set number: A6949
    • Kreons: Drift, Vehicon
This set also includes a movie-based Vehicon similar to the one in the Cell Block Breakout version, for Drift and Dinobot triceratops to run down.

He's not the captain! I'm the captain!
The Galvatron Factory Battle also comes with an Age of Extinction themed Vehicon, although this time his gun is black.

"Or me?" "I think he's over there!"
This set includes not one, but two Vehicon Kreons, again based on the Age of Extinction Vehicon Kreons in the previous sets. One of the Vehicons has a big red-tipped gun, for all the good it would be against the massive buildable Grimlock included with this set.

  • Optimus Prime Dino Hauler (Age of Extinction, 2014)
Two more Vehicons are included with this set, and both carry different gray-coloured guns.

Ohhh, Maybe?
  • Scorn Street Chase (Age of Extinction, 2014)
Two Vehicons, one with a black scoped handgun and one with a grey scopeless handgun, have the bad luck to be packaged with the massive buildable Scorn and its magnetic-tipped mouth.
