From Transformers Wiki
Adam Thompson is your average person, except his weird obsession with some form of media dealing with toys. Hell, nobody's perfect, but what is average when it comes to this stuff? Anyways, I'm from this one state that everyone associates with horse racing, and shoeless, inbreed hillbillies. I don't know anyone who's like that, but whatever helps you sleep at night. The weather is alright (I guess), but the heat, humidity, storms, and winter starting in January is a bitch to work in.
The Obsession Begins
I was introduced to Transformers during the Generation 2 cartoon (well, you know all about that stuff anyhow), not being alive when the original cartoon was being aired. My first toy was Grimlock then along came Optimus Prime, and then... I can't remember what other toys I had at that age. After the cartoon went off-air the brand fell to the wayside until a very magical, and awesome show aired on the TV. And it was called... BEAST WARS! Looking back at it now, it was the best Transformers show to ever air, and we all know why it was great and what made it that way. The rat and the cat, the wasp, and the ant made me laugh, the munky made you think and made you appreciate his role in the series, the rhino spoke to the intelligence of me. The amalgamation of Bond villains was pitch perfect in whatever he did, Dinobot was awesome, so awesome in fact that he almost made me cry. Hell, even the crazy spider and the psychotic crab freaked me out on occasion. But all that goodness had to come to an end, but then Hasbro and Mainframe Entertainment brought me Beast Machines. Not the best show in the world, mainly the characters being hippies and that whiny ass kid hurt it. In light of the shows that followed, I've looked at it more favorably.
The Decline
As a teenager, playing with toys and watching cartoons wasn't cool so I gave up on Transformers for quite some time, packed all my toys up and called it quits. I did this until...
Resurrection in Interest
Word trickled down to me one day that a live action film was being made about my childhood obsession. Like any person who has finally embraced his nerd-dome, I pulled out every last piece of merchandise I had, every piece of fiction Transformers ever had from the internet, buying Beast Wars and Beast Machines on DVD, the original movie on DVD, even the sound track. Until after I seen the movie 5 times in theaters is when I discovered the Wikia and began to edit a lot (and get every character from the movie in the most accurate size class they came in). I began to watch Animated, which because of it's writing, characters, pacing, plot, and being just damn interesting, jumped past Beast Machines to become my second favorite show ever. Everything that made it great, made me even sadder when it was canceled. The toys are pretty awesome too.
The worst thing happened after the Book Worm Crash, while we in our most dire need, I was in a car wreck, and without internet access for about two months. That wreck killed my truck Roller, but now I have Roller 2 (almost an exact copy of my first one), this time with Roller written in Cybertronix on the bed cover. Now, with ROTF, I've been on this site about two or three times a day. I still haven't quite figured out all the code and stuff yet, but I'm working on it. Any help anyone can give me would be much appreciated.
