Talk:3D Battle-Card Game
From Transformers Wiki
I'd just like to say hey to the guys who created TF: Battlecards, because I can tell they're reading this. Nice edits, guys. Look, I *know* Hasbro bought you out so you wouldn't sue when they inevitably released their own CCG, but that does not mean your fan creation has ANYTHING to do with the official product. So knock it off. -hx 01:43, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
Where would someone post an article about a fan-created game???
Posting in the fandom results in hate mail about "this is not fiction, stop posting!"
Posting in the merchandise results in "this is not official products, stop posting!"
So are people allowed to post ONLY what a few people in high positions like or approve of?
I would expect this type of elitist behavior from religious or political sites... but never from a sci-fi, cartoon/toy related site.
Am I looking at this wrong? Where is the common ground?
- It's not a hard concept. This website is for OFFICIAL products/characters/story/materials ONLY. No fan-characters, no fanfiction, no fan-made games. At all. --ZacWilliam 15:09, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
Then please explain this section: http://transformers.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Fandom
- That;s for articles about facets of the fandom or fan-used terms/concepts, there's a difference. Ie - An article about what "Fanfiction" is, defining the concept is fine. An article about Your particular fanfic ("Starscreams's Big Day Out") or your fan-character "Silvernose" featured therein is not. See? --ZacWilliam 15:25, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
Ok. That actually makes sense. Sorry for being a jerk about it.
- Apparently not enough, as yet ANOTHER ad for the thing was put into the discussion of this page. I've removed it. Vanguard

Card Table
Would it make sense, at this point, to make a table for the cards here, or is it not worth bothering? Vanguard
Category
With the emergence of "new" characters like Sky Lynx, is it time for "3-D Card game" to become its own category?--Carrion 22:17, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
- I wouldn't think so, since there's so few 'unique' ones in either set. If anything, those that are 'unique' would be an odd version of the 2007 movie universe (such as Blackjack, Sky Lynx) because many of the aesthetic cues are from that line. -- Vanguard 17:00, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
- Bringing this back... I think we SHOULD have a "3D Card Game" category. The number of "unique" characters doesn't really mean anything in regards as to whether or not we make a category, otherwise we wouldn't have a lot of the categories we DO have. what, nearly 50 different characters represented in the game so far, including some uniques, I'd say a category is called for. --M Sipher 18:33, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
Done for now.
The only one I didn't mess with is "Vortex," pending someone taking the initiative to decide that he isn't a totally new guy and that he is, in fact, just the Japanese version of Energon Stormcloud, who was actually CALLED "Vortex" (well, "Vorter") over there. Everyone else is assumed to be who they appear to be, except Blitzwing, who I arbitrarily decided was a new guy. -hx 06:31, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
Energon Wars Category?
We currently have two characters in the (not yet created) category Energon Wars, since they are nominally unique to this expansion. (I.e., Sky Lynx (Energon Wars) is apparently not the same as any other Sky Lynx.)
Should we place the other 24 characters from the Energon Wars expansion in this category, and then create it? Or should we remove the two who are already in there, since there will (presumably) never be enough Energon Wars-specific characters to warrant a category? That is, should the EW cat be for all 26 characters who appear in it, or just the 2 who are unique to it? JW 18:32, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
- I don't think an "Energon Wars" sub-category of the 3D Card category is neccessary at all, frankly. --M Sipher 18:34, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
