Smileduck
From Transformers Wiki
- Smileduck is a Beastformer from the Generation 1 continuity family.
Everybody likes Smileduck (スマイルダック Sumairudakku). They can't help it. This bubbly bird is an endless font of energy and good vibes, and his happiness is infectious. Kind, caring, thoughtful, and amazingly patient, he lives to spread cheer. As the Emperor of Tell es-Sawwan, he makes sure to keep the often-dour King Yellow Camelus smiling. That's not the only King he's good friends with, as he's very chummy with both Iriano's King Dog Hunter and Saitan's King Big Serow.
He's not much of a fighter, being fairly weak and not a fan of violence in the first place, but his boundless energy, quick speed and quicker wit make him unpredictable in combat. And he's as adept in water as he is on land. On top of that, his Smilon weapon (スマイロン Sumairon) can transmit psychic waves that suppress anger and negative emotions, lightening the mood of his opponent and making them less likely to continue the fight.

Toys
Transformers: Beastformers
- Smileduck (Beastformer, 1987)
- ID number: 41
- Pack: C
- Accessories: Axe (usually)
- Part of the second series of Takara's Beastformers toys, Smileduck is a yellow anthropomorphic duck in light blue robotic armor. His left arm ends in a curved blade. The Battle Emblem on his chest reveals one of three symbols when warmed up; Fire, Water or Wood.
- He usually comes with a copper axe weapon marked with the same ID number as on his back. However, Beastformers is notorious for toys coming with someone else's weapon; it's unclear if this was just originally poor QC, but in the sequel series, this semi-random weaponry was actually turned into a "gimmick".
- He was only available in the "C Pack" assortment, and came in a green-grid generic "Cybertron Beastformer" box. He came with a bio card with a painted character image on a jungle backdrop, though there was a chance his bio card would instead be replaced with the rare "Secret Photo" card featuring White Leo.
Notes
- Smileduck's fluffy yellow feathers would indicate he's actually a duckling, as no adult duck is yellow. On the other hand, this is also a world with blue horses, pink weasels and lavender moles, so.
- As he was not sold in the post-Transformers sequel series and thus had no bio card, his "RPG"-era bio comes from the Hero Special 4: Beastformers mook. This bio gives him the nickname "Smiley" (スマイリー Sumairī), and notes he was born in Camela Bay.
