Take a ride on the Pain Train

Sixtrain (シックストレイン Shikkusutorein) has surprising strength. Most members of the Train Team who compose him are fairly mild-mannered and not exactly warriors, yet Sixtrain has the ability to become the most powerful of all the Micromaster combined robots... all due to his Matrix-fragment-fueled "Red Mode", which creates a burning aura around him and enhances his combat power to incredible levels. Even when he's not in this mode, he's a skilled fighter, with a dangerous punch and the "Train Gun" that creates train-track-shaped beams of light that act as laser whips.

Even though he is the elder brother of Sixliner, it's the younger brother who leads the Earth-based Micromasters.

Micromaster

When the Autobot Micromasters on Earth found the Decepticons were digging near a dormant volcano, Sixtrain used his burning "Red mode" to defeat Sixwing and send the Decepticons packing, the sheer power he exhibited in battle wowing Sireen. Sixtrain recombined when Sixwing returned, intent on stealing the artifacts that the Micromasters had found there. Sixtrain! Activate Red Mode!! Later, after the Autobots had established Metrobase on the excavation site, Sixtrain rushed to help the newly arrived Multiforce fight off Berserker Sixwing — but this turned out to be unnecessary, as the Multiforce's own combined mode Landcross was more than capable of defeating the Decepticon combiner. The Menace of Landcross's Combining Formation!

Operation Combination

Many years later, Sixtrain banded together with Sixwing and Guard City in a battle against the Decepticon Battle Gaia amidst a human-sized city. He and Sixwing were quickly bested, leaving only Guard City to fend off the villain. Big Pinch, Autobots!

Later, Sixtrain and all other Micromaster Combiners scattered across the globe were summoned to Earth's orbit to join Guard City in a last line of defense against Battle Gaia and the Jet Corps, who had fought their way past the Road Corps. Sixtrain went up against Battle Gaia-himself. The Decepticons' Attack on Earth!

Sixtrain, Sixwing, Sixbuilder, Sixturbo, and Guard City eventually combined to form the "Autobot Scrum Combination". Combining the power of all twenty-nine individual Autobots, their unleashed energy destroyed Battle Gaia on the spot. As the Jet Corps fled with the remains of Battle Gaia, Sixtrain joined the other Autobots in gleefully waving goodbye. Conclusion

"On your left."

The Trainbots were heavily injured fighting the Nine Great Demon Generals in the form of Raiden, leaving them requiring extensive repairs. Blaming himself for their condition, Shouki left the team so that his leadership would never endanger them again. Sixtrain stood watch over Shouki's elective reformatting into a spy shuttlecraft at Metrobase. Shouki & Daniel Chapter

Later, just as Cybertron seemed lost to the interdimensional incursion of the Fallen, Shouki and the ragtag band of Transformers left to defend Cybertron were greeted by Desire along with D-Go and Shouki's old comrade Suiken. The other Trainbots had arrived astride Metroplex, bringing with them the Train Team and the Liner Team! Chiding his brother for being as solemn as ever, Yukikaze reminded Shouki the Trainbots would always have his back. With that, on Windy's count all three teams of train 'bots combined into the Trainbot Omni-Car Joint to chain the Fallen, giving Shouki and company time to vanquish the cosmic evil by funneling Metroplex's power through Shouki's new "Raiden" cannon mode. While describing Metrobase, Metroplex recalled that Sixtrain had been stationed there prior to 1985. Bonus Edition Metroplex

Wings Universe

Sixtrain and his brother Sixliner were Cybertronian Knights. They happened to be entering the main chamber of the organization's headquarters as Flare-Up and Apelinq were debriefed on the assault on the Galadria Space Bridge Outpost in the Delta Prysmos Sector by Knight Commander Ginrai. Released in the Operation Combination portion of Takara's Fight! Super Robot Lifeform Transformers toyline, Sixtrain is a retool of the Return of Convoy combiner Sixliner, made up of six train Micromasters: Desire the white 300 Series Shinkansen, Atlan the silver SNCF TGV Sud-Est, Convertor the red EF66 "Blue Train" engine, Raise the 371 series, San D-Go the black D51 steam locomotive engine, and Windy the dark gray 400 Series Shinkansen. The combined mode is held together with various pieces of combiner kibble, which form three weapons/vehicles when the team is separated; while the original Sixliner combinations (eventually) got named, these three never got official names.
He has limited compatibility with the non-train combiners, really only able to swap out arm and "back" components with the "kibble-jet" types thanks to the arms' 5 mm post connections and the standard Micromaster footpeg attachment for the backs.
Sixtrain was only sold as a complete box set. The original Six-Teams are considered among the more difficult Japanese Generation 1 pieces to find, due to their final-year release well after Transformers had faded from relevance in Japan, and thus command some hefty prices even with the molds' later re-releases.

In 2003, the entire Sixtrain team was re-released as the fifth wave of The Transformers: Micromaster, in individual boxes with a number visible to show which mold was inside each box. For this release, the Team's decos were significantly altered, with new plastic colors, the removal of all stickers and addition of a considerable number of paint applications; each one lost some deco (in particular anything with printed detail like text), but also gained a few other pieces of deco, plus everyone got an Autobot symbol.
Sixtrain could only be assembled by buying all six components individually, he was never offered as a complete set.
On top of this, two out of every twelve toys in the shipping/display case were all-red-plastic, nigh-unpainted "Red Mode"-mode chase figures with white Autobot sigils. Even the combiner kibble was cast in red.
This normal version of the team was released without notable changes in the Hasbro Universe line as Rail Racer.

SixtrainPencilBoardMockup.jpg
  • A mock-up of Sixtrain appeared on an Operation Combination pencil board (a flat piece of plastic used to separate sheets of paper when writing). The mock-up used Sixbuilder's head in blue, and featured Sixtrain's components in somewhat different colors.
