Prowl (Cyberverse)
From Transformers Wiki
The name or term "Prowl" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Prowl (disambiguation). |
- Prowl is an Autobot from the Cyberverse continuity family.
Patient, loyal, and highly intelligent, the high-ranking Prowl definitely needs to loosen up a bit. He's serious-minded, detests anything that's unorderly and is always following protocol. Because of this, Bumblebee wants to show him the meaning of the word "fun". Just don't sneak up on him. He has a VERY tenuous trigger-finger.

While retreating from an overwhelming force of Seekers, Prowl was almost overwhelmed when he fell behind Bumblebee and Wheeljack. He was saved by Optimus Prime, although Prowl insisted Prime should have left him behind. Matrix of Leadership
After it was determined that Optimus had made a mistake in launching the AllSpark, the Ark was launched to retrieve it, Prowl amongst its crew. As the ship sailed through the void, however, its energon stores dipped, forcing the crew into stasis pods. Teletraan-1 eventually tracked the AllSpark to Earth, only for the Ark to suffer a hull breach and crash-land in Mount St. Hilary. Some 66 million years later, Prowl, along with the rest of the crew, was reawakened by Bumblebee and Teletraan-X in time to see the Decepticon fleet invade Earth. Eruption
The Cybertronians eventually became known to humankind, with Prowl being caught on a news channel that mistook his pursuit of Shadow Striker for a police chase until Prowl and Shadow Striker transformed into their robot modes. He later took part in a battle on Earth's moon where the Decepticons had erected a Planet Smasher. He attempted to reach the weapon with Hot Rod, before Shadow Striker knocked them off the trail, and Wheeljack brought down its force field. Sea of Tranquility When the Planet Smasher was destroyed, the Decepticons activated a set of planetary engines to slam the satellite into the planet. Along with Wheeljack and Hot Rod, Prowl reversed the polarity on the boosters, returning the moon to its normal orbit. Bad Moon Rising
As Prowl polished a blaster, he informed Bumblebee that he hadn't seen any animals on the moon. A rampaging Grimlock soon sent him hiding, as his own weapon was now firing at any random target, including him. The Visitor After a series of events saw the Autobots and Decepticons forced into another round of peace talks, Prowl managed to discuss weapon techniques with Shadow Striker only for Bludgeon killing Slipstream to cause a brawl to break out. Parley
Cheetor's attempt to ask Prowl if he needed assistance was quickly flushed thanks to the decorated bot's trigger finger. He sent Cheetor back to Ratchet, sending the newbie into depression until Bumblebee took him for scout training. As Wheeljack examined his scraplet specimen, Prowl found that he was short one blaster cartridge. Spotted
After Starscream had been defeated and the AllSpark secured, Prowl oversaw Rack'n'Ruin locking up the Seeker before he remotely piloted an Autobot shuttle as part of a stall tactic so Hot Rod could restart the Ark. Though the ruse allowed the Ark to make a b-line for the space bridge, Sky-Byte had seen through the ruse and delayed the Ark long enough for the Nemesis to catch up. Though the Decepticons nearly destroyed the Ark, Cheetor managed to repair the ship with the AllSpark only for the Decepticons to destroy the space bridge, forcing the Autobots to take the long way home. Escape From Earth
During a celebration party, Prowl was among those who fell into a maddened rage when Wheeljack's AllSpark badges, tampered with by Starscream, overloaded their circuits. Prime soon set things right and got the party back on track. Party Down Prowl later celebrated as the Autobots returned to Cybertron. The Crossroads
As the Ark entered Cybertron's atmosphere, Prowl eagerly awaited to return home. Battle For Cybertron I However, along with the rest of the crew, he bailed out of the ship when Optimus suspected a Decepticon trap, later taking part in the final battle of the Great War. However, when Shadow Striker attempted to shoot a distracted Optimus, Prowl threw himself between the two and took the blast, ultimately perishing from his injuries. Battle For Cybertron II

Toys
Cyberverse
- Prowl (1-Step Changer, 2019)
- Cyberverse One-Step Changer Prowl transforms from a robot into a police car and back. He features an Action Attack gimmick, "Jetblast" which extends a pair of cannons over his head when the spoiler on his back is slid into position. This then allows you to manually flip out the blue blast effects built into the end of each "barrel".
- Prowl was retooled into Jazz.
- Prowl (Warrior Class, 2018-2019)
- Action Attack: "Jetblast"
- Cyberverse Warrior Class Prowl is a Deluxe-sized mold with a simple transformation Like all Cyberverse Warrior Class toys, Prowl features an attack gimmick, a "Jetblast", which pops out a pair of cannons from his back when his chest is pushed down. Unlike many other Warrior class toys, he features a decent range of articulation.
- Prowl was released twice: First in late 2018/early 2019 in the original Cyberverse packaging design, and then again in mid-2019 in the Power of the Spark subline imprint packaging refresh. He was also released in Nezha: Transformers packaging in Chinese markets.
- Prowl (Ultra Class, 2019)
- Action Attack: "Siren Blast"
- Cyberverse Ultra Class Prowl is a voyager-sized mold that transforms from a robot into a police car and back, while sharing Bumblebee's transformation scheme. Like all Cyberverse Ultra Class toys, Prowl features an attack gimmick, a "Siren Blast", which pops out a pair of cannons from the center of his roof when the center of his lightbar is pushed down.
- Unlike the stock render, Prowl's robot mode eyes are not painted.
- Prowl saw a very limited release in the United States. Essentially, he was only ever stocked by Amazon, since the wave he was supposed to ship in was never available at retail, and wasn't even solicited by action figure online retailers such as BigBadToyStore either. In fact, it was even omitted from the wave numbering at Entertainment Earth entirely! Despite that, the wave did see a retail release in Canada, Russia and Germany.
- Prowl (Battle Class, 2019)
- Cyberverse Battle Class Prowl is a downsized figure, roughly the size of previous Scout/Legends/Basic class figures but larger than contemporary Cyberverse Scout Class figures. He comes with the "Cosmic Patrol" fighter jet, which seems to be based on the alternate mode of Decepticon Triggerhappy. It splits apart into his battle armor that includes shoulder-mounted guns similar to the original Prowl toy.
- Quintesson Invasion (2019/2020)
- A re-release of the Battle Class Prowl toy without the Spark Armor comes with an equally unchanged and Spark Armor-less Shockwave and a new Quintesson Judge figure. Prowl also comes with something that looks like a mind-control helmet to wear on. Ironically, Prowl himself died before encountering the Quintessons.
- This item was first sighted at Target in late December without any prior announcement from Hasbro.
- Prowl (Deluxe Class, 2020)
- Accessories: Gun, 2 effect parts
- Action Attack: "Siren Shot"
- Cyberverse Deluxe Prowl transforms from police car to robot. Like his wavemates, Prowl does not come with a piece to a Build-A-Figure like previous Deluxes, but instead includes two effect parts than can be attached to his shoulder cannons or his gun.
- Like many other figures released around the same time, Prowl can suffer from yellowing in some of his white parts.
- Prowl's transformation shares elements with his Siege counterpart. This mold was later redecoed by TakaraTomy (though it ended up unreleased) into his Earthspark incarnation.
- Prowl (Tiny Turbo Changer, 2019)
- Series: 1, 2
- Bag code: L
- Part of the first Series of Cyberverse Tiny Turbo Changers, Prowl is a soft-plastic robot that transforms into a tiny police car. He has tiny cannons molded over his shoulders.
- Prowl was released without changes in the second Series as well.
Buzzworthy Bumblebee
- Prowl (1-Step Changer, 2023)
- Series: Cyberverse
- The 1-Step Changer Prowl was re-released without any changes in a Buzzworthy Bumblebee packaging.
Merchandise
McDonald's
- Prowl (Happy Meal Toy, 2019)
- Released as part of the Happy Meal promotion for Cyberverse, Prowl is a 4-inch-tall non-transforming robot figure with limited articulation. As an Action Masters-esque play feature, he includes a small spaceship (reminiscent of his Spark Armor toy) that can be separated into two parts and reattached into various pins around his body as weapons or pieces of armor.
Notes
- The Japanese dub of Cyberverse has Prowl generally end his sentences with de arimasu (であります), a talking style often assigned to military-related characters. In anime shorthand, this suggests a character is a by-the-book sort.
- Dick Terhune has an interpretation of Prowl and Shadow Striker having a frenemy/mutual respect for each other believing that Shadow Striker's accidental murder of Prowl changed her a lot afterwards.
