Motormouth (G2)
From Transformers Wiki
This article is about the Autobot from G2. For the character from One, see Motormouth (One). |
- Motormouth is an Autobot from the Generation 1 continuity family.
Motormouth has an enormous engine, and an ego to match. While his vehicle mode would be useful for transporting materials, he rarely uses it for this purpose, because that might scuff his paint. He often finds himself distracted by the sight of his own reflection, although it's not entirely clear whether this is due to the considerable pride he has in his appearance, or just his extremely low intelligence level. Constructed with minimal brain circuitry, Motormouth is fortunate to possess super-fast speed that lets him tear up the streets to elude the Decepticons. Although in truth he'd like to tear them up, too.

Motormouth was part of a small group of Transformers called Go-Bots created in the early 21st century on Earth. They arose from a Cyberfactory, forged from reverse-engineered Cybertronian technology that brought them the spark of life like Vector Sigma itself. When war broke out on Earth yet again, Motormouth and the Go-Bots joined forces with the Autobots, serving under Pyro and Rapido.
In 2010, Motormouth was part of a team in Switzerland that tried to reclaim the Large Hadron Collider and its particle accelerator from Clench and his Decepticon Syndicate. As the Autobots were speculating on why the Decepticons needed a particle accelerator, the excitable Motormouth proclaimed they must be planning to create a black hole and destroy the Earth! Meanstreak gave him a smack for suggesting an idea out of a silly cartoon. They attempted to kick the Decepticons out of the facility, but it wasn't easy once Clench's team exposed themselves to forestonite and gained spiffy new super-powers for themselves. The Sharkticons didn't help either—Motormouth was almost eaten by the horde of Quintesson-created drones, although he helpfully suggested they eat the senior Autobot advisor Scorch instead.
The fighting continued outside until forestonite gas spread out from the complex, super-powering the Autobots as well as the Decepticons. Clench's Syndicate fled, but Motormouth was able to lasso a Firecon for good measure before he could escape. Generation 2: Redux
At some point, Motormouth lost a canister of forestonite to being mugged by Ramjet. Timelines G2 Ramjet profile card

Generation 2
- Motormouth (Go-Bot, 1995)
- Accessories: Rifle
- Known designers: Masakatsu Saito (concept artist)
- Part of the first wave of Go-Bots, Motormouth transforms into a Ford F150 Flareside pickup truck. Using through-axle construction for his wheels, he is compatible with most "Hot Wheels" and "Matchbox" playsets and tracks. The initial assortments gave Motormouth clear-plastic robot mode parts, but the second wave (with Optimus Prime and Megatron) gave him opaque plastics in the same colors.
- The same mold was redecoed in Generation 2 for the Go-Bots version of Ironhide, then for 2001 Robots in Disguise Spychanger Ironhide, the Universe incarnation of 2001 Robots in Disguise Ironhide (whew!), and the second Universe incarnation of Generation 1 Hoist.
