Megatron (Movie)/merchandise
From Transformers Wiki
The live-action incarnation of Megatron has a lot of merchandise!
Merchandise
Transformers (2007)
Lunchables
- TRANSFORMERS Chess Set (2007)
- Two identical silver-colored plastic statues of Megatron serve as the Chess Set's Autobot-side King.
- Megatron ("Pocket Transformers" toy prize, 2007)
- A sort of "pseudo-figure" of Megatron cast in dark gray plastic, Megatron "transforms" from a flat structure emblazoned with the Decepticon symbol and the word "Transformers" to a robot by folding out. Megatron is represented by stickers decorated with artwork of the character on the top, bottom, and two fold out "arms". Said artwork is based on earlier promotional artwork of Megatron, and thus features a different head than the finalized version. His name is also spelled out across his feet in this mode.
- This mold was also used to create the Lunchables figure for Blackout and Starscream. A similar mold was used to create the Lunchables figure for Optimus, Ironhide and Bumblebee, though with the Autobot symbol sculpted in instead of the Decepticon one. Each iteration of this mold was made with a different color of plastic.
Cap Candy Company
- Transformers Gummy Candy (2006)
- Made by the Frankford Candy & Chocolate Company at the behest of Hasbro's Cap Candy Company unit, this large Megatron-shaped gummy candy was available throughout 2006 to 2007. Also available was an Optimus Prime and Bumblebee-shaped gummy candies.
Robot Fighters Game
- Optimus Prime vs. Megatron (2007)
- Megatron comes packaged along with Optimus in a toy set that allows both figures to be strapped to their separate bases, and subsequently be controlled by two players, making them punch and kick one another via knobs that can be twisted and turned to make the characters perform different moves. Megatron's body is slightly simplified and features articulation at the shoulders and hip joints. A sort of update on the classic "Rock'em Sock'em Robots" game. The figures can also be separated from the base for fun on the go!
3D Battle-Card Game
- Megatron (3D Battle-Card, 2007)
- Card number: 20
- Megatron is a 53-point "Rare" piece in the 3D Battle-Card Game. Constructed of punch-out pieces from plastic cards, he can be assembled into either his robot mode or alien jet mode. His card construction was reused for the enigmatic Sky Lynx card in the game's "Energon Wars" expansion.
Battling Robots Bubble Bath
- Megatron (2007)
- Megatron's torso attaches to the bottle of bubble bath. His elbows bend, and his arms have a punching gimmick, to allow him to battle the forces of good. Pushing a lever on either side makes the respective fist punch forward. He's removable, though not as easily held without the bottle below his waist. Like many pieces of Megatron merchandise, this "figure" uses the older head design with blue eyes. The blue eyes are also the only spot of paint on him, unlike the elaborately decoed Prime.
Burger King
- Megatron Burger King free toy (2007)
- A non-transformable version of Megatron, cast primarily in gray plastic. The toy's entire "gimmick" is that both arms rotate at the shoulder. Due to the strict protocols of making a fast food premium, Megatron's sharp and deadly design was forced to be smoothed out. This had the unfortunate effect of making his sculpted details meld together and looking less like a killer robot and more like a melted clay man. The toy appears to use the earlier head render of Megatron's, but due to the vague detail and paint job, may also not be.
- The toy also comes with a purple plastic Decepticon base and a lenticular motion card with a surprising amount of frames of animation. These two pieces may in fact be the better part of the package.
Basic Fun
- Megatron (Figural keychain assortment, 2007)
- Produced by Basic Fun, this keychain is a likeness of Megatron's robot mode with articulated arms, legs, head, waist, and a keyring sticking out of his ass.
Transformers Movie Danglers
- Megatron (2007)
- Released by Tomy Yujin in November 2007[1] for the Danglers Collection, this toy is a weird plastic super deformed version of Megatron that pops out his vehicle mode when you squeeze him. This little figurine has a little strap on it so that it can be put on cell phones or portable gaming devices.
- Other than Megatron, there are also versions of Decepticon Devastator, Bumblebee, Ironhide, Bonecrusher, Jazz, and Optimus Prime.
Robot Replicas
- Megatron (Robot Replica, 2007)
- Accessories: Fusion Cannon
- Known designers: Bill Rawley (Hasbro)
- As part of the Robot Replicas sub-line, this version of Megatron is a non-transforming action figure that hews very close to the movie's CGI model. It features joints similar to the Revoltech toys, though the elbows only turn from side-to-side, giving him extremely limited arm articulation. His forearms can be replaced with his fusion cannon accessory (or any other arm attachments from other Robot Replicas, which could lead to some fun Frankensteins).
- Megatron vs. Optimus Prime (Multi-pack, 2007)
- This Walmart-exclusive two-pack includes "battle-damaged" redecos of Robot Replicas Megatron and Optimus Prime.
Attacktix
- Battle Masters Megatron and Scorponok (Battle Master set,
2007)
- One of the many casualties of the shelving of Hasbro's Attacktix line was this Battle Master set featuring Megatron and Scorponok.
- Transformers Tournament Set (
2007)
- An Attacktix tournament set featuring unique playing pieces of Bumblebee, Optimus Prime, Megatron and Bonecrusher was at one point scheduled for release. Along with a vast amount of other Attacktix product, it ended being canceled.
Titanium Series
- Megatron (3" Robot Masters, 2007)
- Accessories: Movie-style Decepticon sigil display stand
- Titanium Series Megatron is a die-cast metal and plastic figurine, with an accurate sculpt based on the CG model owing to the fact he doesn't need to transform. Being a figurine, he only has articulation in his shoulders, neck and waist. Megatron comes with a Movie-style Decepticon symbol display stand.
Unleashed
- Megatron (2008)
- Known designers: Bill Rawley (Hasbro)
Transformers Movie Screen Cleaners
- Megatron (2008)
- Released by Tomy Yujin on January 2008,[1] this dangler is a faction logo-shaped screen cleaner for your cell phone, with a stock image of Megatron printed on the other side.
Revenge of the Fallen
Nestlé
- Megatron (Surprise Cup, 2009)
- A small figurine based on Megatron in his 2007 movie robot mode, with an attached cord on top to be used as either a keychain or a cellphone dangler, was one of eight possible miniatures that could be found as a freebie in the bottom of each Nestlé Surprise Cup. Interestingly, these first started popping up in European ice cream booths around March 2009, a good couple of months before the usual assortment of toys and merchandise for Revenge of the Fallen hit retail shelves.
Burger King
- Rise of Megatron (Kids meal toy, 2009)
- Rise of Megatron has a pull-back motor and can "transform" between flying tank and robot modes, both of which are quite inaccurate. The tank mode lacks a cannon, while the robot mode lacks legs for purposes of the toy's own gimmick. Megatron's robot mode torso also looks quite deformed and odd compared to the CG model in the movie, with features such as a round mouth, huge arms, and symmetrical (huge) shoulders.
Transformers Digital Watch
- Megatron Digital Watch (2009)
- Made by F*A*B Starpoint, this Megatron-themed digital watch has a nylon velcro strap with a rubber pull tab, a plastic case and chrome bezel, and an LCD display on the face.
Wacky Wobblers
- Megatron (2009)
- Wacky Wobblers Megatron is a bobblehead doll which features details more accurate than any of his mainline toys, especially in the head and feet. However, his right hand, with the "lobster claw" weapon extended, is in an impossible position (compare his right arm with that of the Voyager class toy). Unlike most Wacky Wobblers bobbleheads, his arms are poseable.
Basic Fun
- Articulated keychain (2009)
- Produced by Basic Fun, this keychain is a likeness of Megatron's robot mode with articulated arms, legs, head, waist, and a keyring sticking out of his ass.
Figure Collection
- Megatron (2010)
- Accessories: Stand
- The Figure Collection edition of Megatron is modeled on his Voyager class toy from the first movie, complete with molded icicles. His wing backpack is a separate piece which must be slotted in after opening the dispenser ball.
Missile Mania Board Game
- Megatron
- Megatron is one of eight characters featured in the Missile Mania board game, represented by a small standee adorned with artwork of the character.
RPMs - Robot Powered Machines
- Autobot Ratchet VS Megatron (2009)
- Series: Battle Series
- Number: 05 of 08
- Known designers: Alex Androski (deco artist)
- Robot Powered Machines Megatron is a non-transforming Hot Wheels-scale version of his tank-mode. Megatron's robot mode is sculpted on the bottom of the tank, along with his faction symbol and name. He features a rotating tank turret, but the cannon is constructed out of softer materials, which makes it droop down and look sort of... depressed. This deco was only available in a two-pack with Ratchet.
- Megatron (2009)
- Series: Combat Series
- Number: 02 of 04
- "Combat Series" Megatron is a screen-accurate silver redeco of "Battle Series" Megatron, and features painted tank treads.
- Jetfire VS Megatron (2010)
- Series: Battle Series 2
- Number: 05 of 06
- Unusually, the stock photography on the cardback depicts a Megatron redeco in the Revenge of the Fallen "Shadow Command" Megatron color scheme. This particular redeco did not in fact see release in any form.
- As part of the final wave of RPMs, Battle Series 2 did not get released through normal retail outlets in the United States, instead showing up for sale first in Canada, Asia and Europe. Later, though, it would show up in the US though Toys"R"Us Express mall stores and discount chains like Ross and TJ Maxx.
- Megatron (2010)
- Series: Robot Riders
- Number: 02 of 03
- "Robot Riders" Megatron is a new-mold figure of Megatron's robot mode that is built to roll on wheels. Though officially listed during the run of the RPM series (on the back of the Asian market release of RPM "Robot Riders" Sideswipe) and seen at Toy Fair 2010, it never came out in any market.
End of the road. |
- Megatron (2010)
- Series: Allspark
- Number: 03 of 04
- A redeco of "Robot Riders" Megatron in blue. While "Allspark" Megatron was officially listed during the run of the RPM series (on the back of the Asian market release of RPM "Allspark" Starscream), the only image of it was revealed by a downloadable poster on the official Transformers website of Turkey.
End of the road. |
Nintendo DS
- Megatron Nintendo DS stylus (2009)
- A truly gargantuan Nintendo DS stylus modeled after Megatron's tank cannon. Unlike the movie, the end of the stylus has three "fingers" instead of four. The warhead of the cannon makes up the tip of the stylus itself.
- Battle damage is sculpted all over the stylus. The Decepticon insignia and Nintendo DS logo is printed on the left side.
McDonald's
- Megatron (Happy Meal, 2010)
- Accessories: missile
- Part of the 2010 McDonald's Revenge of the Fallen promotion, Megatron does not transform but fires a projectile instead. Megatron does not feature light-piping but has 6 points of articulation! He was only available during week 2 of the promotion, and came with an instruction sheet that doubles as an ad for McWorld, featuring an exclusive code for the website.
Robot Heroes
- Autobot Ratchet & Megatron (Two-pack, 2007)
- Known designers: Bill Rawley (Hasbro), Marcelo Matere (concept artist)
- The first Robot Heroes toy of Megatron was available packed with Autobot Ratchet. Like many Robot Heroes, he is grinning from ear to ear, and in a squatty pose. Notably, his hands are simplified into three fingered claws, and his head is a cute version of the original (and replaced) design. His articulation is the standard shoulders and neck. The toy is colored much like the Leader Class version of the character.
- Megatron (Single-pack, 2008)
- In some countries outside of North America, this Megatron was released individually in a blindpack with no notable changes.
- The Final Battle (Multi-pack, 2008)
- Sold exclusively in Walmart stores, "Megatron with Metallic Finish" is a repaint of the first Robot Heroes toy. Sold with redecoed Autobot Jazz, Blackout, Optimus Prime, and Ratchet, no molding was changed on this toy. However, the figure boasts a metallic finish, making the toy a vibrant silver with painted bronze highlights for greater film accuracy.
- Battle Jazz & Megatron (Two-pack, 2008)
- Known designers: Bill Rawley (Hasbro), Marcelo Matere (concept artist)
- The second mold, sharing no parts with the first release. His right arm has transformed into the flail, and he's posed just after slamming it into the ground (with impact "explosion" molded in). The head is the "final" head design, but the toy has many outbursts of blue, either to make a more exciting deco or evoke him being "recently thawed". Sadly, he is only articulated at the neck and LEFT shoulder, denying the world adorable flail bonking. He was packaged with Battle Jazz.
- Autobot Skids & Megatron (Two-pack, 2009)
- Known designers: Marcelo Matere (concept artist)
- The third Megatron mold, based on his Revenge of the Fallen body and colored a darker gray than the previous ones. He is sculpted with his fusion cannon deployed and has the usual shoulder articulation. This time, Megatron came in a two-pack with Skids.
- Battle of the Fallen (Multi-pack, 2009)
- Known designers: Marcelo Matere (concept artist)
- This Robot Heroes box set of figures comes with The Fallen, Megatron in tank mode, Jetpower Optimus Prime, and Ironhide in truck mode. Megatron has no articulation.
- Battle for the AllSpark (Multi-pack, 2009)
- A redeco of the second Robot Heroes mold is included in this set representing the battle of Mission City along with Brawl, Ratchet, Sam Witwicky, Optimus Prime in truck mode, Starscream in fighter mode and Bumblebee in car mode.
- Chromia & Megatron (Two-pack, 2009)
- Known designers: Marcelo Matere (concept artist)
- Part of the third wave of Revenge of the Fallen Robot Heroes, this figurine of Megatron depicts him in mid-transformation between robot and tank modes, which is based on an unused concept art. He has articulation at the neck, shoulders, and waist. "Chromia" comes packaged with him. Humorously, his Leader Class figure can achieve this "mode".
- Robot Heroes Game: Optimus Prime vs. Megatron (Two-pack, 2009)
- This Robot Heroes-inspired board game comes with a redeco of the first Revenge of the Fallen Megatron mold alongside a redecoed Optimus Prime.
Speed Stars
Mini-Vehicles
- Megatron VS Jetfire (2010)
- Series: Battle Series 2
- Number: 05 of 06
- While Battle Series 2 of Robot Powered Machines wasn't widely released in the US, it became part of the follow-up line Speed Stars instead. The Jetfire vs. Megatron set contains various differences from the RPM release, however, such as less paint details.
- Megatron (2010)
- Series: Robot Riders
- Number: 02 of 03
- Speed Stars "Robot Riders" Megatron is a metallic bronze and purple redeco of the new-mold robot mode figure originally planned for release in the RPM line. Though officially listed on the back of the Speed Stars "Robot Riders" Sideswipe and seen on a digital poster on the Speed Stars website, it never came out in any market.
End of the road. |
- Megatron (2010)
- Series: Road Assault
- Number: 03 of 03
- "Road Assault" Megatron was listed on the back of Speed Stars "Road Assault" Starscream, but was never depicted anywhere. Since the rest of the Road Assault Series was based on the cancelled RPM "Allspark Series", it's likely that it was to have been a redeco of the "Robot Riders" mold.
End of the road. |
Stealth Force
- Megatron (Deluxe, 2010)
- Accessories: Missile
- Part of the "Stealth Force" subline, this Megatron also has no robot mode, but makes up for it with a number of hidden weapons that flip out of his tank mode at the press of a button. His tank turret can fire a missile, while all the hidden weapons are non-firing.
- While not having a robot mode, this is the only toy in the Stealth Force line to have a robot head. Strangely, the head sculpt used on the front of his tank mode is the same sculpt used for the Robot Replicas release of Megatron.
Dark of the Moon
- Megatron (2011)
- Released by Bluw, the Megatron AirHedz set comes with a giant inflatable headpiece with his face on it and an inflatible version of the shotgun Megatron used in Dark of the Moon. Megatron's apperance includes battle damage to match his film look. It was released alongside Bumblebee and Optimus Prime versions of the design.
Burger King
- Flip-Out Megatron (2011)
- Part of the 2011 Burger King Dark of the Moon promotion, Megatron is a simple figure with bobble-head-like proportions. The entirety of his body flips out of his enormous head when it is opened. A similar gimmick is present in all the toys part of this promotion. Interestingly, his head is a fairly accurate depiction of his 2007 head, while the body is based on his Revenge of the Fallen design. Pushing the button on his chest plays the classic transformation sound. There is an on/off switch on his back.

- Megatron (Collectible Figurine, 2014)

- Megatron (2024)
- Movie: Transformers
- ID number: MMTFM-34 / 34DXS (Deluxe) / 34UTS (Ultimate)
- Accessories: Base, fusion cannon (DXS, UTS), flail (DXS, UTS), alternate left arm (DXS, UTS), alternate head (DXS, UTS), Jazz's corpse (Ultimate)

- The "Deluxe Bonus Version" comes with three additional swappable arms: a fusion cannon right arm, a flail right arm, and differently posed left arm. Also included is an alternate head with LED-lit eyes based on an infamous early concept design.
- The "Ultimate Bonus Version" comes with all the above and additionally includes the upper half of Jazz's corpse following his death at Megatron's hands. Amusingly, he was misidentified as Sideswipe in the official product description before it was corrected to his actual name.
- Megatron Overlord (202?)
- Movie: ?
- ID number: ?
- First revealed as a 3D render in 2022 with plans for release in the coming years, "Megatron Overlord" is a very stylized rendition of the Decepticon leader design by Josh Nizzi, taking a lot of inspiration from his previously cancelled Age of Time design (see below).
- This iteration of the character can be interpreted as the opposite of Nizzi's own Power Master Optimus Prime released around the time of this Megatron's announcement.

- Premium Bust Megatron is a highly detailed sculpture of his head and torso attached to a base. It's based on his Revenge of the Fallen body and features light-up eyes.

Age of Time

201?)
- Age of Time Superior Megatron was designed to be the "ultimate amalgamation" between movie and G1 Megatrons, specifically taking cues from Megatron's appearance in Revenge of the Fallen.
- For reasons unknown, this figure was silently canceled.
The Last Knight
Roleplay
- Megatron Voice Changer Mask (2017)
The roleplay Megatron Voice Changer Mask features multiple phrases performed by Frank Welker that play at the press of a button on the right side of the mask. These all seem to be new recordings and not taken from any pre-existing Megatron sound clips. While the packaging states their are eight phrases, the mask actually has ten total. Many of these phrases originate from other version of Megatron throughout the franchise; "I have returned", "I...am Megatron", "Decepticons", "Prime, you are weak", "I will crush you!", "You are a persistent little Autobot", "Do as I command!", "Peace through tyranny", "Such heroic nonsense" and "Pathetic Autobot". It also plays a guitar riff from the Generation 1 theme song. Holding down the same button for a few seconds activates the voice changing mode, with the mask playing the classic transformation noise made going to robot mode to confirm its activated. Pressing it again for a few seconds likewise deactivates it, with it playing the transformation noise made going alt mode to confirm. Finally, pressing a button on the left side of the mask will cause the tusks to flip open, revealing Megatron's full face.
