Discharge (G1)
From Transformers Wiki
This article is about the Generation 1 Autobot. For the Cyberverse Transformer, see Discharge (Cyberverse). |
- Discharge is an Autobot Micromaster from the Generation 1 continuity family.
Discharge (ディスチャージ Disuchāji) is an expert in firefighting and rescue missions, putting everything she has into them. Her heavy, heat-resistant armor hides her true form, but better to be bulky than burned to a crisp. She really doesn't like going into battle, but get her mad, and she can really do some damage, especially when she combines with her fellow Turbo Team members into Sixturbo.
At some point, San D-Go had plans to marry (!) Discharge as a result of his interest in human culture, but this wedding ultimately never happened.
She also has one of the most awkward names ever.

Micromaster
Like most of the Turbo Team, Discharge was infected with the mind changer virus, presumably though contact with Road Police, Circuit, Neo-Wheel, or Glide. The virus turned her into a Decepticon, and she went about causing random destruction with her teammates. Sireen tricked Discharge and the others into combining with him to form Sixturbo, then restored them all to normal with an anti-virus program. Enter the Urban Disaster Relief Specialists!!
Later, she joined the rest of her team in fighting off Sixwing as Sixturbo when the Wing Team made an attempt to steal more Cyberdroid capsules. Enter the Decepticon Sixwing!!
Later still, when the Decepticons were digging at the foot of a dormant volcano for unknown reasons, Discharge hypothesized that they were trying to make the volcano erupt. Apparently, she was incorrect. Sixtrain! Activate Red Mode!!

Toys
Fight! Super Robot Lifeform Transformers
- Sixturbo (Micromaster Six-Team, 1992)
- ID number: TF-03
- Released in the Operation Combination portion of Takara's Fight! Super Robot Lifeform Transformers toyline, Discharge transforms into a fire truck of indeterminate model, with the ladder/water cannon on a simple swivel, but it it sadly unable to elevate. Discharge can form any part of the similar-build Six-Teams (Sixbuilder and Sixwing), as well as the arms or back of the two train combiners (Sixliner and Sixtrain), but is frankly awkward in any position other than as a leg; her normal placement is as Sixturbo's left leg.
- The toy's larger connector socket is approximately 5mm wide, making Discharge compatible with a lot of accessories and other toys.
- She was only available as part of a complete Sixturbo gift set, packed with his teammates Circuit, Glide, Neo-Wheel, Road Police, and Sireen.
- The original Six-Teams are considered among the more difficult Japanese Generation 1 pieces to find, due to their final-year release well after Transformers had faded from relevance in Japan, and thus command some hefty prices even with the molds' later re-releases.
Micromaster
- Discharge (Micromaster, 2002)
- ID number: 5
- Accessories: Sixturbo left foot
- In 2002, the entire Sixturbo team was re-released in the second wave of The Transformers: Micromaster, in individual boxes with a number visible to show which mold was inside each box. For this release, many of the decals from the original version were replaced with paint operations; Discharge lost a few of the more complicated pieces of deco, such as the silver stripe towards the top of the vehicle mode (none of these toys used tampographs for more detailed deco), but gained extra silver and black deco on her truck mode, plus her face changed to silver (boo) and that was spread to part of her helmet.
- On top of this, two out of every twelve toys in the shipping/display case were all-black-plastic, nigh-unpainted "Reverse Evolution"-mode chase figures with white Decepticon sigils. Even the combiner kibble was cast in black, albeit a little more dark-gunmetal.
Notes
- Discharge, like all of the six-team Micromasters, had no individual bio information whatsoever until her Micromaster release a decade after her original Operation Combination release.
