Betah is a city in the Socialist Democratic Federated Republic of Carbombya. It has been largely ravaged by the civil war which recently rocked the country and many parts of it lie in ruins.

A ruined university in Betah's southern quarters was the scene of an arms trade between Swindle, and former President-for-life Fakkadi, who had become head of the Carbombian Protection League. Unfortunately for them, NATO forces under the command of Major Bergstrum had gotten wind of the exchange, and set up a sting operation. Though they managed to capture the Carbombians, Swindle managed to get clean away via a cunning ruse with a fake jeep. Two for the Price of One
