When Megatron attacked the Autobot recovery base in the Antarctic, breaking in using the massive Crusher, Optimus Prime ordered Prowl to scramble the superjets. He needn't have bothered, as Megatron's attack inadvertently freed hundreds of Dinobots from the tar pits and the Decepticons were forced to retreat. Jaws of Terror

The superjets continuously patrolled to try and find the Decepticons. Skyfire was leading one such patrol from a refueling base in Guam when they were attacked by Decepticon jets led by Skywarp. The next day another patrol was attacked by a squad led by Starscream near Sumatra, and several of the superjets were shot down.
