To do: Changes from other versions to warrant an E Rating. |
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 improved on the first game in many ways, and for this, it is currently the second highest rated game on Metacritic, just behind The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
Turn that s**t up!

Unused Tricks
To do: The Windows version has 4 unused tricks in its TRICKS.BIN file, which is also present in memory in the N64 version. Find a way to access them in-game (or at least display their animations) |
Though neither Private Carrera nor Trixie are present in the N64 release of the game, their unique special tricks remain and work normally. You can set a skater's trick slot to one of these by changing its hex value to 61 (Double Splits), 62 (Fifty-5 Ho Slide), or 63 (Ho Ho Handplant).

Unused Character Data
As mentioned in the previous section, Private Carrera is not available in the N64 version, and (almost) all traces of her have been removed from the game. However, forcing the character select screen to her skater slot's hex value (12), will display her default stats.
Unused Park Editor Objects
A variable that controls the lower limit of selectable objects in the park editor is located at 0x801AB60B. By changing this byte to 00, this allows the limit to go below the default number 06. By first changing the set to 3, we can use C-up or C-down to view place unused items 0 through 5. These are Pillar, Beat Up Car, Crate, Trashcan, Table and Sawhorse. They are actually ramps found in game but have interesting effects, such as the ability to stack them.
