Amir Karimi is a research lecturer in the Department of History Education at Farhangian University, Alborz, Iran. His research focuses on history teaching, teacher training, and the usage of gamification, VR, AR, and Metaverse in education; the bibliometric and scientometric method, which VOSviewer and Bibliometrix conduct is his interest. The aim of this research is to map research literature on learning media in physical education ov... more The aim of this research is to map research literature on learning media in physical education over two decades. This study uses meta-data from the Scopus repository, retrieved using relevant keywords and extracted in terms of field development, productivity, collaborative networks and thematic structure in the field. We analyzed the data in VOSviewer and Biblioshiny software. A total of 265 documents/articles were published in the Scopus database in the period 2000-2022. Based on publications in the Scopus database, the findings show that: (1) academic interest in physical education learning media in the first decade tended to fluctuate and began to increase in the last decade; (2) Most publications are written by researchers spread across various countries, although most research is still published by a small number of authors and countries; (3) there is a noteworthy level of scientific collaboration in this field, where there is no collaboration between co-authorship clusters; (5) The conceptual dynamics of the literature reveal the multidimensionality of this topic of inquiry. Our significant contribution is the explanation of past findings relevant to current research that offers interesting insights into the evolution of the field of instructional media in physical education. These findings suggest the need for more interdisciplinary studies and broader collaboration of authors between countries.

Highlighted during the COVID-19 pandemic, these schools emphasize flexibility and accessibility, crucial for education during crises. The expected post-pandemic growth of e-learning stresses digital literacy, and combines online and conventional learning techniques. Global access to e-learning hints at equitable educational opportunities, despite geographical barriers. This study employs bibliometric analysis to understand e-schools’ academic influence, examining related literature, citation impact, and global reach. It explores thematic trends and emerging research areas in e-schools, identifying key publications and contributors. By mapping the global distribution and recognizing leading nations and institutions in e-school research, this study offers a comprehensive view of current and future dynamics in digital education, aiming to guide educators, policymakers, and researchers in this evolving domain.

Virtual Reality in Elementary Education: A Scientometric Review

In elementary education, virtual reality (VR) has been the subject of much-increased research ove... more In elementary education, virtual reality (VR) has been the subject of much-increased research over the last ten years, with developed and developing nations making significant contributions. This research used a bibliometric approach to examine all publications published between 1994 and 2023, depending on this information. This study uses the VOS viewer tool and the Scopus database to analyse 365 articles. The results show that developed nations significantly contributed to publications and citations, especially in research and development, whereas developing nations were more interested in using technology in education. Journals in computer science and education now receive the most citations, which indicates the current focus on Virtual Reality in Elementary Education. The trend of greater collaboration among authors may be attributed to several variables, including, but not limited to, enhanced financing, higher author competency, and the rise of transdisciplinary studies. This collaborative effort facilitates the exchange of many viewpoints, expands the scope of insights in articles, and improves the editing and revising process. The terms "child," "reality," "technology," "approach," "intervention," "teaching," "augmented reality," "difference," "patient," and "process" are the top 10 keywords linked to virtual reality in elementary school research. Research relevance, influence, and acknowledgment within the scientific community may be ensured by matching research to keyword trends.
