Welcome to StrategyWiki![edit source]
Hello Sigma 7! Welcome to StrategyWiki. Thank you for your contributions. If you have any questions, just contact a sysop through their talk page or post on the staff lounge, and they'd be happy to help. If you need help editing, check the StrategyWiki Guide. If you have a question about the content on this wiki, you can check out our staff lounge page. If you want to ask questions or hang out in IRC, we're usually around. On the other hand, if you have ideas for StrategyWiki, bring them up on the forums. Please remember to sign your name on, and only on, talk pages by clicking or using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Finally, please do your best to always fill in the edit summary field as this helps to document all of your hard work. Feel free to delete this message from your talk page if you like, or keep it for reference. Happy editing! -- DukeRuckleyTalk | Contribs 17:32, 28 January 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for working on the Left 4 Dead guide. I've been meaning to do some work on it myself, but haven't gotten around to it yet.--DukeRuckleyTalk | Contribs 17:32, 28 January 2009 (UTC)
- If you check out the toolbox just below the edit box, there's a bunch of handy links to insert common markup into pages. The Header and Footer Nav are both down there to hopefully make it easier. -- Prod (Talk) 07:12, 30 January 2009 (UTC)
- Would you be so kind as to come on chat for a moment? -- Prod (Talk) 20:47, 14 March 2010 (UTC)

Table of Contents[edit source]
Make sure you use the full address path name on the Table of Contents links. Using [[/Controls|Controls]] makes a page at Adventures of Lolo/Table of Contents/Controls, which I doubt was your intention. Something was also weird with the {{Header Nav}}. I'm not sure what was going on there, but you can check this diff to see what I'm talking about. Just use the "Table of Contents" button above the edit text box when creating the ToC, and it will fill out the Header with <noinclude> tags for you. Thanks, - najzere 17:27, 26 February 2009 (UTC)
Bobbleheads[edit source]
Is revealing the locations of the bobbleheads really a spoiler to the plot? I'd suggest using {{sidebar}} to show secondary information like that instead. -- Prod (Talk) 19:20, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
- Nice work you've been doing with the Fallout III guide. It's looking really good :D. -- Prod (Talk) 03:08, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
Team Fortress stats[edit source]
Hi, I was looking at the TF2 stats page and thought I saw an omission. Don't players also get points for pushing and/or capturing the payload cart? It seems distance-based (a point per every number of feet you push it), but I could never figure out what it was. Great contributions by the way. Baejung92 (talk) 00:34, 27 March 2009 (UTC)
- From what I can tell, players seem to get 2 points for pushing the cart for a distance, but none for reaching the capture point. I don't have information on the scoring behind it, since I only did a single test. --Sigma 7 04:46, 27 March 2009 (UTC)
Sysop nomination[edit source]
Hi. I've nominated you for sysop status, due to your whirlwind of edits since January, and your good understanding of the way things work here. Please edit the page to accept or decline the nomination and, if you accept, answer the questions on the page. Thanks, and good luck. --DrBob (talk) 19:46, 28 March 2009 (UTC)
- Sigma, I think you need to say whether you accept the nomination before anyone can vote. This might not be true but no one has places their votes yet, so I just assumed that was the reason. I've been waiting to vote for you and you're keping me in suspence : ). BTW, most of the other sysops are sometimes in IRC, so maybe you should hang out there sometime. Keep up the good work! --Melon247 (talk · contribs · comp) 12:48, 30 March 2009 (UTC)
- Sorry for the delay, I've updated the page with the acceptance. --Sigma 7 23:34, 31 March 2009 (UTC)
- Congratulations, you're now a sysop. Make sure you've read the StrategyWiki guide fully – especially the admin guide – and use your power wisely. --DrBob (talk) 17:16, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
Redirects[edit source]
No need to label redirects for deletion. We'll take care of them as we see them, otherwise they don't really have much negative impact. Just make sure nothing links to the page. -- Prod (Talk) 22:10, 28 March 2009 (UTC)
Your sysopness[edit source]
Congrats on becoming a sysop! It's a great accomplishment for one that has been on the site for as short of a time as you have to be given the trust and responsibility that comes along with a sysop position. To help make your life easier, I've compiled an admin guide for you to read over at your leisure so that you may become more familiar with all of the tools available to you and so that you may learn how to handle certain sticky situations. In addition, you may wish to acquaint yourself with our policies if you have not done so already. If you need any additional assistance, feel free to come onto IRC or leave a message on my talk page and I'll be happy to help. Once again, congratulations! --Skizzerz 23:33, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
- Even though I forgot to vote my support I wanted to mention that your productivity is awe inspiring. Many congrats on making it! --Zaiqukaj 07:22, 9 April 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah, I want to apologize for neglecting to vote S7, but congratulations. You would have had my support anyway. Why does your nick sound familiar to me? You weren't a #SNES-er back in the day, were you? You'd know what I mean if you were... Procyon 18:07, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
Game logos[edit source]
You should probably bring it up on the forums before creating any new image categories. There are already a couple threads on it. - najzereT 17:54, 14 April 2009 (UTC)
Channeling vs. Channelling[edit source]
I understand that words that end in -el do not add a second "l" for American English and do for British English. I went back and double checked with Guild Wars, so it was right before. I'm going to go ahead and revert that one. I'm not going to get to check on the rest, I've gotta jump off here. Anyway, just wanted to let you know.--DukeRuckleyTalk | Contribs 01:30, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
Blocking Policy[edit source]
Don't you have some sort of blocking policy?(Noryb989 03:13, 27 April 2009 (UTC))
Dark Spire?[edit source]
Hey, thanks for correcting the Dark Spire title; question for you, though. How do I move existing pages to a new name? I was working on "Dark Spire/Weapons" while you made that change, not sure how to relink it now. Thanks! --Keldi 17:07, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
Whoops, never mind, someone did it already. Wow. Uh, feel free to remove this, I guess, I have no idea how. Sorry! --Keldi 17:09, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
Positive edits in the wrong place[edit source]
Please move content instead of removing it (i.e. Mind Control). Thanks, --Notmyhandle (talk • contribs) 19:06, 3 May 2009 (UTC)
Unsure of term you used[edit source]
Can you explain what you mean by linkrot when you made this edit?--Thomas Michael William Patrick Sales (talk) (contributions) (email) 17:42, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
- Linkrot refers to links no longer working as time passes. --Sigma 7 19:50, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
TF2 achievements[edit source]
Hi! Were you planning to upload the new images on the TF2 achievements page? If not, I can do them, but I wanted to make sure beforehand since I'd have to change the links to end in .png rather than the .jpg you linked them as on the page. Baejung92 (talk) 05:41, 26 May 2009 (UTC)
- I chose JPG since it was the one I had the easiest access to. I don't have any issues having it switched to .PNG if it's easier to upload. --Sigma 7 15:38, 26 May 2009 (UTC)
- Okay, I'll get to uploading them sometime soon. I just upload them in PNG because they come in that format :) Baejung92 (talk) 00:27, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
StarCraft II Zerg Units[edit source]
Hi there. I only removed certain units from pages because we do not have confirmed information about if this or that unit will appear in Starcraft II or it might be fanon. Thats all.(Noryb989 18:04, 9 June 2009 (UTC))
- The only way to confirm if a unit is within the official canon is when the game is released. While you can predict which units are entering based on a single page, you also need to keep track of other communication (which may or may not be publicly accessible.)
- Including only units listed on a single webpage is not a good measurement of potential canon, especially since Blizzard releases new material outside of said webpage. They can easily discuss new units within their Battle Reports (found on a different location on the webpage), and developers can easily discuss statistics or features with partners or third party news organizations.
- The early Doom Alphas show exactly this: content is visible from screenshots and limited-distribution demos. Even though the BFG didn't turn out to be a 40-ball shotgun, it should still be recorded as such until more information becomes available (i.e. the game gets released.) --Sigma 7 19:34, 9 June 2009 (UTC)
Omega Race clone on the Vectrex[edit source]
Hi Sigma7. Are you sure about the recent edit you made on the Omega Race/Versions page? Because as far as I knew, the game was a homebrew, and therefore no official plastic overlay was ever created for it. Also, since the arena changes shape on different levels, it also suggests that the overlay could not have presented each of the arena shapes. Just curious. Procyon 05:07, 15 June 2009 (UTC)
- Seems that there was an actual cartridge and overlay for the game, even if unofficial. After checking the overlay through a third party resource, it's a simple green sheet with no track markings. At least the overlay isn't critical to the game. --Sigma 7 06:02, 15 June 2009 (UTC)
Soukoban vs. Sokoban[edit source]
Hey Sigma7. I guess when I made the Soukoban page, I went a little too literal with the spelling, and didn't look for accepted spellings of the name. It appears that Wikipedia agrees with you, although if you search for the term Soukoban on GameFaqs, it's pretty prevalent. It's kind of difficult to tell which one is the right one, but either way we go, would you be interested in merging the content between the two? There are a number of pages which link to Soukoban as well. Procyon 20:40, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
- They are both correct... the "ou" romanization of japanese phonetics is, if I remember correctly, the older style, whereas the simplification to just "o" is of the new school. --Notmyhandle (talk • contribs) 21:09, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
- Google reports more hits for Sokoban than soukoban by an order of 100, and a website claiming to be the official homepage also uses the term Sokoban. Regardless of which one is correct, the author's choice is the one to go with. --Sigma 7 23:18, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
- There's also a slight problem: can't move Category:Soukoban to Category:Sokoban. --Sigma 7 23:23, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
- You'd have to copy/paste to move categories, and I don't remember if Special:MergeHistory works or not. The precedent has always been to go with the name used first, and in this case it would save a lot of effort, since there are 11 guides in the Soukoban category, six of which are actually using the "Soukoban" name. Redirects can handle on-site searches for "Sokoban", but I'm not sure how Google results would be affected. — najzereT 23:29, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
- I already moved most of them, since the games in question were more frequently referred to by the name given and that they were only single pages... the only one I won't change is Soukoban Deluxe, since it's already titled with the most common usage (and Sokoban Deluxe instead refers to the various reimplementations.) As with Google, it tends to latch on to redirects as if they were the actual page, and won't cause issues. --Sigma 7 23:46, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
EVO pages[edit source]
What are you trying to do by splitting the headings up into columns? Cause I don't get it. — najzereT 20:15, 10 July 2009 (UTC)
- Those are branching paths, which reconverge later. The user is free to take one or the other (even both), before returning to the main quest path. --Sigma 7 01:20, 11 July 2009 (UTC)
Great Bay Temple map[edit source]
Hey, I just ran into something weird. I saw File:LoZMM Great Bay Temple map.png in the upload list, and when I looked at it, it said the type was text/c++, and nothing was displayed so I deleted it. Then I checked the page it was on, and according to the history you added it to the Great Bay page well before Rickand had uploaded it. Despite that, I don't see it in your contribs, and the file itself only lists Rickand as the uploader. Anyway, long story short, you probably need to reupload that map. :/ — najzereT 06:51, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
- Heh. Okay, obviously you just put the link and this guy uploaded some crap file. Nevermind, mystery solved! — najzereT 06:54, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
Banning IPs[edit source]
Hi Sigma7. Thanks so much for helping out with this vandal attack. Don't bother banning the IPs, each attack is generated from a unique IP, which means they are most likely faked. Well see if this continues and if it does, we'll lock the site down from anon edits for a while. Procyon 13:52, 15 September 2009 (UTC)

From the headings on the walkthrough page, this looks like a complete walkthrough. If it is, I think this should probably be at least cs2, or even cs3. -- Prod (Talk) 07:50, 23 November 2009 (UTC)
I grant thee permission...[edit source]
I don't know why I didn't think of this earlier... this is all me. Feel free to use as much of it as you like. :) Procyon 14:51, 10 December 2009 (UTC)
Moonwalker[edit source]
Wikipedia and GameFAQs list the computer games as coming before the arcade version (1989 and 1990, respectively). Should the page be moved to Michael Jackson's Moonwalker (arcade)? — najzereT 18:38, 22 December 2009 (UTC)
- Fixed, but I don't like the current writeup on Wikipedia, and I don't know enough of the home computer version to write something myself. Wp also seems to imply they're all three different versions, making the game three times as large as anyone would want it to be. --Sigma 7 20:03, 22 December 2009 (UTC)
- I used to play this all the time on the Master System, and can say that it sounds completely different from the way its described for arcade or computer on the WP article. Also, the games look completely different according to the screens I've seen (meaning gameplay as well as graphics). It seems like three entirely separate games were made, as far as I can tell. — najzereT 20:16, 22 December 2009 (UTC)
Deus Ex and stuff[edit source]
Hey, I recently got a new computer so I can now play Deus Ex again. I was wondering if you wanted to do a serious collaboration on it and finish up the guide. If so, I was hoping you could help me make a to do list on the talk page and come up with a sensible page layout for the walkthrough, since there are many different ways to approach every scenario. Let me know, thanks.
Also, I couldn't find what Formula 1 Grand Prix (1989) was conflicting with that it needs the disambiguation in the title. As far as I can tell it's the only game with that name. It comes close to "Microprose Formula One Grand Prix", but even if it was exactly the same, it came out a couple years before so it would get the full name. Just wondering! — najzereT 19:56, 13 January 2010 (UTC)
needinfobox tag[edit source]
Hey, I noticed you leave this tag on guide main pages sometimes when the infobox is filled except for either nothing in the image field or a red link there. If you just omit anything in the image field it will get automatically categorized as needing box artwork, so the you don't really need the extra tag. Just wanted to let you know in case you didn't already. Thanks, — najzereT 17:50, 8 February 2010 (UTC)

Guild Wars[edit source]
Are there still enough people active to complete raids the quests? -- Prod (Talk) 09:44, 6 May 2010 (UTC)
- Haven't gotten far enough to tell (maximum party size is 6), but if you at a mission that needs more than that, you'd probably see players clustering in the related outpost. --Sigma 7 12:59, 6 May 2010 (UTC)
Upcoming meeting[edit source]
As a reminder, there is a meeting this Saturday, May 29, on IRC taking place at 2:00pm EDT (UTC -4). As always, agenda is available on the forums, so you may view it and suggest additions there. Hope to see you there! --Skizzerz 04:03, 27 May 2010 (UTC)

A small favor[edit source]
I only give you this message because I am frustrated with a level in Inspector Gadget: Operation Madkactus. I already knew how to beat the final level, but I can't beat level 4 because I don't know how to access the X stone. I can see it, but I cannot get to it. If you are willing to, I would like you to at least submit a walkthrough for level four so I can beat the game without cheats.

Please help[edit source]
Hello. I'm a new member of your site, and was trying to publish a Webkinz walkthrough here. :) It kept doing the thing to keep from spam coming in, but I kept doing it right, and it wouldn't let me post my walkthrough! Like I said, I'm a new member, so, maybe there is something I'm missing? Thanks for your time!
~ Dragonite
- That's a bug with the ConfirmEdit extension, which doesn't have a fix yet. In the meantime, you can get past that anti-spam system by avoiding any external HTTP links and just using a text walkthrough. --Sigma 7 (talk) 02:02, 3 July 2012 (UTC)

Hi Sigma 7. Sorry if I removed your moongate table from the "walkthrough" page, but it was inaccurate and, I think, hard to read. There's a new table in the Moongates. Check if you like it :-) --Abacos (talk) 11:16, 13 February 2013 (UTC)
- Actually, the table was accurate - it was meant to be used as a way to quickly reach a given city with minimal waiting, but at the cost of being complex. The new layout is much better at describing the gates and their location, and could fit travel descriptions for other cities just by adding one column. --Sigma 7 (talk) 06:13, 17 February 2013 (UTC)
Hello Sigma 7 my name is Kimble, I saw your work on mario party boards and thought they were great I've been a new member for a 4 months working on that guide with Notmyhandle but I can't think of good things to write about DK'S Jungle Adventure, Yoshi's Tropical Island, Wario's Battle Cannon and Luigi's Engine Room and was wondering if you'd like to help out if not that's fine I just saw you were the only one who wrote on the board's on there back than. Again if you don't want to help that's fine. RodKimble (talk) 03:31, 3 May 2014 (UTC)
Call for help - patrolling edits[edit source]
Hi Sigma 7, this is a public service announcement for active admins. Our unpatrolled queue is hovering around 1500 and I am having difficulty keeping up with the queue. We need your help. If you have any spare time, I would really appreciate it if you could please take a look and see if you can patrol (thoroughly) anything. Some people take this as an invite to go to a page and click the patrolled link without doing anything - that's not what I'm asking. I need quality control. If you have any questions, please let me know. The URL I use to view the whole queue at this time is here (60 days old, hide patrolled, show up to 1800 edits). Many thanks, --Notmyhandle (talk • contribs) 20:32, 20 April 2015 (UTC)
- We're under 1000 unpatrolled, keep it up! --Notmyhandle (talk • contribs) 00:36, 24 April 2015 (UTC)
re C&C mission naming[edit source]
They may not be named in a technical sense, but they are certainly identified in several ways. Best is to simply use the mission location eg. GDI-level 5-Germany-Hanover or something like that.
Feel free to delete this comment after reading, it has no lasting value. --VictorInThePacific (talk) 04:10, 17 August 2015 (UTC)

Thanks helping out with WP[edit source]
Hey S7. Thanks for helping out with removing the WP template. If I understood your first commit summary, I think you and I are on the same page with when and where the template should be used; for any subject that falls outside the scope of SW. I won't lie and say my biggest motivation to remove it is because WP voted to remove our SW template, but I also believe that there's very little that our readers can learn on WP about games that they can't learn here. I'm also taking the opportunity to prune old or stale external links, so feel free to trim those too, especially if the link is dead. Thanks! Procyon 02:11, 14 February 2016 (UTC)
