Two Tigers is a multi-directional shooter arcade game that was released by Bally Midway in 1984; it runs on their MCR-2 hardware, and is based on the novel, Gus is My Co-Pilot. The players must use two rotary controllers to take control of two aeroplanes (which are the eponymous Tigers), with three buttons to make them fire shots, speed up and drop bombs - and their objective is to sink battleships by dropping bombs on them (as well as shooting enemy planes so that they fall on them). Flying into an enemy plane, or getting shot by a ship shall result in death; even though both players' planes can be resurrected any number of times (like the player's cannon in Namco's King and Balloon) they can only afford to let two battleships escape, as the game will immediately end after a third one escapes. Each part of a ship must be hit three times to make a hole in it (it does not matter if it is by a bomb or a falling enemy plane), and only the brown enemy planes can fly into your own - but when an enemy plane falls on a ship, its propeller will drill through it, until it reaches the hull. Mines and oil drums will also occasionally float through the water; if shot they'll explode horizontally and vertically. Swimmers and sharks may also occasionally be seen swimming in the water - they can be shot for extra points.
This game also has a "dogfight" mode, where the players are put against each other, and have to try and destroy each other's convoys; the loser will then have to try and defend his ship from the winner.
