This guide is for North American release. For the Japanese release, see DDRMAX: Dance Dance Revolution 6th Mix.

DDRMAX Dance Dance Revolution is the first PlayStation 2 version of the Dance Dance Revolution series to hit North America. Featuring Oni/Challenge Mode from the arcade version of DDRMAX2 and the all new freeze arrows, this game redefined the world of DDR not only in the arcade market but in the home market as well.

Although the game shares the same name as its arcade counterpart, the songlists are quite different as they were catered to a North American market. However, most of the game remains unchanged from the arcade version.

Footnotes[edit | edit source]

  • Song names represented here are from their Japanese mixes. Corrections will be made shortly.
  • The steps for Paranoia Max (Dirty Mix) in this game are frequently referred to as Another steps, an alternative set of steps that could substitute the regular steps in older versions of arcade DDR.
  • Due to common misunderstanding: Unlike Japanese home mixes, it is not possible to unlock all unlockable content by using a Support Mode in MAX2. MAX2's North American counterpart does not have a Support Mode and therefore cannot unlock MAX's unlockable contents.
