I would like to invite you to the contest that is running by @sahmie and if you would like to have a look, here is the link:

We all have had some pain at least once in our life. My first experience with pain was when I had a fall and hit my knee, often while we were playing we had abrasions, hit our arms and legs, luckily I did not have big injuries and did not require operation.
Often in order to treat pain we need to take medication that usually help to block the pain receptors so that we can function normally. Those medication are called painkiller and there are many different types, majority as tablets, for little children there are liquid syrup.
The common cause of usage of painkillers are:
headache and migraine, we often have this type of pain, the people living in big cities, having stress of work, study and also for people with migraine that could be change of weather and pressure in the air when the weather is changing
for children tummy ache, many of us might be remember sweet syrup of painkillers. I remember that my favourite was strawberry flavour Ibuprofen
also in childhood time due to falls and injuries we had to take time to time painkillers so that we can get up and move easily
elderly with chronic back pain but also with hip and knee pain. Rheumatoid arthritis when elderly people could have pain of their small joints of hands and feet
The painkiller out of counter supposed to be safe for people and have less harmful effects. They are effective for simple type of pain and usually any painkillers that we buy out of counter people should not take longer than a week. If pain is not settling then people should see the doctor and to be assessed. Usually the pharmacists also aware about that and will ask a person about duration of pain relief and advise to go to doctor.
The other type of pain relief are those that require prescription from doctor and those medication are much stronger, could have severe side effects and also could be dangerous in higher doses. Strong pain relief often could belong to the group of opioids and those ones often used after fractured of bones, perforation of stomach or bowel but also after surgeries. Those strong medications are given in hospital and only in rare cases some of people will be prescribed such medication for home too.
I remember how my grandma was using clove for toothache and she always had some relief, she never used any medication and preferred only natural stuff.
The other maybe some heat packs that many use for back pain and also for joints.
Massage and acupuncture both are old traditional and recognised pain relief.
Using too often pain relief cause that our body get used to the medication or to the doses. Often, people forget that taking medication should be according the prescription the certain dose and time between the doses. Sometimes people think that taking a higher dose could be better but it is wrong, the effect will be the same and also the time of action of medication will not prolong. The more and the often we take pain relief the more difficult it will be to control pain later, because then another painkillers needed to be added to reach appropriate result.
It is important to remember that painkillers should be stopped once people has no pain so that we do not develop resistance of our body to the medication.

I am so sorry to see your painkiller post. That you fell and got hurt. And that you got treatment right away so you could work as well as possible when you recovered. No one wants to live with a sick body. So naturally people are always happy to be alive. Good luck with your post @stef1 sir
