ZIGZAG CARD

To make the zigzag card: just take a long strip of card measuring 3" x 11½" (mine was left over from an A4 piece of card) and place it on the scoreboard in landscape orientation. Score and fold at 4", 8" and 9¾". Decorate with snippets!

Alternative measurements:
You can use any width, but the above scoring is for strip that is 11½" in length.

If you use a strip that is only 11" in length - amend the scoring to 4", 8" and 9½".

FLAP CARD

I found a tutorial for the above card HERE.

The AMENDED measurements I used are:
BASE CARD = White piece of card measuring 5.5" x 7.5", scored and folded at 4.25"
CARD FRONT= Piece of patterned paper measuring 2 7/8" x 5 1/8th". Adhere to front of card and decorate with a pretty floral die-cut.
CARD INSIDE = Piece of coloured card (Pool Party) measuring  3 7/8th" x 5 1/8th" (ADD the side flap BEFORE sticking to the inside of the card!)

SIDE FLAP = Heffy Doodle stitched rectangle die, scored and folded then stuck BEHIND the inside piece of Pool Party cardstock. Once flap is adhered, stick the whole piece of Pool Party to the inside of the base card.
The side flap was further decorated with a punched-out piece of Pool Party which I stamped in Versafine Clair Twilight ink.

DOUBLE Z-FOLD EASEL CARD

See video tutorial for this card on You Tube HERE.

My versions are below:

You can get two cards from two A4 sheets using the following measurements.

White base card: 11" x 4", scored at 5.5"
Coloured card: 3.75" x 10.25", scored at 2.5" & 5"
2 pieces of patterned paper: one measuring 3.5" x 5" and the other 3.5" x 2.25"

Showing the patterned paper added to the coloured piece of card.

Showing the whole base card prior to decoration.

QUARTER FOLD POP-UP CARD

These measurements will enable you to get two base cards from one A4 sheet of card:

CARD BASE: 5.5" x 4" (scored and folded in half at 2.75")
MIDDLE TAB: 4.25" x 2.5" (scored and folded in half at 2 1/8" as well as at 0.5" each end)
BOTTOM CURVE: 6.5" x 1" (scored at 0.5" each end)

To decorate background with paper:

BASE: 2.5" x 3.75" (cut 2 pieces)

MIDDLE: 1.25" x 2.25" (cut 2 pieces)

CURVE: 5.25" x 0.75"

Double Fold Back Card

START with a piece of card measuring 5.5" x 11"
Score down from the long edge at 1.75", 5.5" and 9.75".
Fold in half at 5.5" score line, then fold both flaps over to the left. One goes over the top of the other.

PATTERNED PAPER
5.25" x 3.5" (adhere to largest area of the card front)
5.25" x 1.5" (adhere to largest front flap - I used contrasting paper)
5.25" x 1.0" (adhere to smallest front flap - I used same paper as the card front)

CARD WRAP
11" x 1" piece of card.
Wrap this around whole card and adhere the overlapping ends. Decorate with die-cuts or punched items and a sentiment, as desired.

SQUARE BOX CARD (folds flat for posting)

I was really taken with this card shape and decided to have a go at it.
This is my prototype - I've since altered the original instructions to suit me more (see below).

The front of the card with the pop-up circle & die cuts.

The original instructions are HERE, and will give you some more pictures and measurements, but I used the following measurements to make a 5" x 4" card:

Base card:

Take a piece of card measuring 9" x 5".

Score down the long edge at 2 1/8", 4 1/4", 6 3/8" and 8 1/2" (The 8 1/2" bit is the tab you use to stick the card together - unlike original instructions which required a separate piece altogether).

My panels
Layer 1 = 4 x pieces of card measuring 1 7/8" x 4 3/4"
Layer 2 = 3 x pieces of patterned paper measuring 1 5/8" x 4 1/2" + further plain piece of card/paper with same measurements to write your message on.

How to:
Snip the edges of the tab diagonally and glue to the inside edge of last panel (see above photo). That's the shape of the card taken care of!

Adhere Layer 2 panels to Layer 1 panels
then stick to the card.

To make the pop up front, you'll need 2 x 1" circles (punched or die cut).
Score and fold circles in half (I used my score board with the circle in the top corner and scored at the half inch mark). Glue one semi-circle abutted to the edge of the front card fold, then do the same on the other side. Make your focal point and glue onto the remaining part of the semi-circles. The focal point will be able to lay flat for posting, but the circle mechanism will allow it to pop forward when it's opened up. This is difficult to explain, but the link above gives pictures so you get the idea.

EXPLODING CARD TUTORIAL

STEP 1: Gather your materials together

You need a stamp set that will make a pretty border; a couple of ink pads; a suitable sentiment stamp (not pictured) and a square of copy paper.

Of course, you COULD fold up pretty designer paper too - but whatever you use shouldn't be too heavyweight due to the amount of folding required.

Sizes:
For 3" x 3" base card, use a 5.75" square of white paper for the folding
For 5" x 5" base card, use an 8.5" square of white paper for the folding
For A6 base card, use an 8" square of white paper for the folding

STEP 2: Stamp your border

STEP 3: Put your paper flat on your desk with the white side facing you and the PATTERNED SIDE face down on the desk. Then fold the paper in half - straight edge to straight edge.

STEP 4: Unfold and turn your paper over . . . so that the patterned side is now face up and the white side is on the desk.

STEP 5: Now fold corner to corner to make a triangle.

. . . Do this again for the other corner, so that you end up with creases like the photo below.

STEP 6: Turn paper over, squeeze gently and it should naturally want to start folding like the photo below . . .

STEP 7: Take a bottom corner and fold in towards the middle of the triangle. Repeat for the other 3 corners.

STEP 8: Crease well using a bone folder (or your finger nails if you have any!)

STEP 9: Unfold each corner and push it inwards with your finger. (YOU can use two hands, but I was holding the camera in my other hand while attempting to demonstrate!)

STEP 10: Once each corner has been pushed inwards you should end up with this house shape.

Which, when pulled open a little, should look like this:

STEP 11: VERY IMPORTANT: You need to stamp your sentiment next so you need to know WHICH WAY round the paper goes to stamp it. You may think I'm bonkers for saying this as it SOUNDS OBVIOUS, but trust me, having done all the border stamping and folding you don't want to find that you stamped the sentiment the wrong way round, (ask me how I know!).

As this is the inside of the card, if you want to WRITE on it, this is the time to do it, as, once it's stuck inside the base card it will never fold flat again.

SO: in order to discover which way round to stamp the sentiment, you need to know that the pointed "roof" of your "house" shape will always point towards the crease of the base card (see below). So it's important to note which way your base card will open up . . . i.e. are you opening it up traditionally like a book (as in this photo), or is it a tent fold that will be opened from the bottom?

For a "book opening" card as above . . . I stamped "Friends" as in the photo below, but had it been a tent-fold card, opening up from the bottom, the "Friends" would have been stamped at right angles to what you see below i.e. along the half fold crease.

This probably sounds confusing, but when you are making this, it will become clear, and if you mess it up, you'll certainly know what I mean afterwards(!).

STEP 12: THE STICKY STUFF!

Only add double sided tape to the "floor" and "walls" of your house. NOT on the diagonal "roof" areas. (I only used the extra strong tape in the photo so you could see where I put it!)

To stick the the folded "house" inside the base card. Do one side at a time. Peel backing away from double sided tape on ONE SIDE of the "house" ONLY. Then open up the base card and lay the non-sticky side of the folded paper flat down CLOSE TO but NOT DIRECTLY ABUTTING THE CREASE of the base card. Once happy with the position, press the base card down on top of the sticky side.

Turn base card over, remove remaining sticky tape backing, then press the other side of the base card down on top of the folded shape.

TAG TOPPER BOX

How cute is this little box? Details on how I made it are below the photo.

Here's how to make this:

Cut a piece of card to 8.25" x 5.5"
Along the 8.25" side, score down at: 1.75", 2.5", 5.75" and 6.5"
Rotate and score along the 5.5" side at: 1", 1.75", 3.75" and 4.5".
It should look like this:

Cut away portions as shown in my photo below (I've positioned the finished box over the top of the scored piece so you can see which bits to cut off):

Next, use the Scalloped Tag Topper punch on the left and right sides, by folding the box sides inwards to allow the box to fit into the punch.
Want some more inspiration? See below (click on photo for larger view):

Once the outside is stamped, just fold it up and tie a ribbon through the punched sections and add embellishments to the top of the box.

CHRISTMAS BOXES!

I made these little boxes to give to the ladies at my final card class.

I found the box tutorial HERE and then added my own decoration. I used the scalloped tag topper punch for the front flap making it easy to put ribbon through!

The box is the PERFECT size for the little Dairy Milk chocolate mousse bars.

TIC TAC BOX HOLDERS

Showing you the finished project as well as what's on the inside.

A close up of the finished Tic Tac holder.

I got the idea and instructions from Pinterest via the Pootles blog HERE . . . but I decorated my holders differently as I had no current SU paper. Instead, I stamped onto Old Olive card with matching ink using only stamps from the Awesomely Artistic stamp set (a favourite of mine!).
