High voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission system is going to become the most economical and efficient way of power delivery for large and remote offshore wind power plants. Designing an accurate and fast fault location method in HVDC-connected wind power plants is necessary to maintain uninterrupted power delivery and protect sensitive devices of these systems. This paper proposes a hybrid method for fault location on voltage source converter HVDC (VSC-HVDC) transmission line which connects the wind power plant to the main AC grids using one terminal current data. The proposed method includes three main modules: the feature extraction module, the estimator module and learning algorithm module. In the feature extraction module, frequency feature are extracted using wavelet transform. In the estimator module, radial basis function neural network (RBFNN) is used. In RBFNN, learning algorithm has a high ...

The proposed antenna consists of a circular ring exciting stub on the front side and a circular slot on the back ground plane. By utilizing a parasitic strip and a T-shaped stub on the antenna structure, two notched bands of 850 MHz (3.5-4.35 GHz) and 900 MHz (5.05-5.95 GHz) are achieved. The proposed antenna is fabricated and measured. Measured results show that this antenna operates from 2.3 GHz to upper 11 GHz for voltage standing wave ratio less than 2, except two frequency notched bands of 3.5-4.35 and 5.05-5.95 GHz. Moreover, the experimental results show that proposed antenna has stable radiation patterns and constant gain. A conceptual circuit model, which is based on the measured impedance of the proposed antenna, is also shown to investigate the dual-band-notched characteristics.

Antenna is printed on a dielectric substrate of RO4350B with relative permittivity (epsivr) of 3.4 and thickness of 500 mum. Antenna is fed by a circular open ended microstrip line is connected to a 50 Omega main line. This antenna is designed to

This antenna is comprised of a circular stub that excite similar-shaped slot aperture. The proposed antenna is designed on the RO4350B substrate with thickness of 500 µm and relative permittivity (ε r) of 3.4 to operate in UWB band released by the US's Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in 2002 (i.e., 3.1-10.6 GHz). To reject the frequency band of 5.15-5.825 GHz, which is limited by IEEE 802.11a and HIPERLAN/2, an inverted-cup strip is parasitically attached to the feed layer. The size of our proposed antenna is 50 × 50 mm 2 , and this antenna has good radiation characteristics. Effects of varying the parameters of parasitic inverted-cup strip on performance of the proposed antenna have been studied. The antenna with optimal parameters obtained from parametric study is fabricated and measured. It is observed that the simulated and experimental results have good agreement with each other.

Thanks to that it is possible to exploit the advantages and minimize drawbacks to each technology. Different antenna's topologies for UHF and UWB RFID applications are presented. Tag is a multichip device and the main difficulties consist to minimize coupling effects between UHF and UWB antenna. UHF antenna has typical impedance, and it is possible to reconfigure it easily to every kind of UHF RFID chip impedance. UWB tag antenna has a reflection coefficient lower than À10 dB on European UWB frequency band. Perspectives are to design a reader and tag antenna matched on all UHF RFID and FCC UWB frequency band. One of the perspectives is to design a RFID tag antenna singly fed and matched on twice bands.

The correct diagnosis of breast cancer is one of the major problems in the medical field. From the literature it has been found that different pattern recognition techniques can help them to improve in this domain. This paper presents a novel hybrid intelligent method for detection of breast cancer. The proposed method includes two main modules: Clustering module and the classifier module. In the clustering module, first the input data will be clustered by a new technique. This technique is a suitable combination of the modified imperialist competitive algorithm (MICA) and K-means algorithm. Then the Euclidean distance of each pattern is computed from the determined clusters. The classifier module determines the membership of the patterns using the computed distance. In this module, several neural networks, such as the multilayer perceptron, probabilistic neural networks and the radial basis function neural networks are investigated. Using the experimental study, we choose the best classifier in order to recognize the breast cancer. The proposed system is tested on Wisconsin Breast Cancer (WBC) database and the simulation results show that the recommended system has high accuracy.
