Holotype: BMNH 25.3.1.13, adult ♀, skin and skull.
Type locality: "Concepción, 400 m," Tucumán, Argentina, later modified to "Sierra de Aconquija, 3000–4000 m" in the same province (Thomas 1929:41). Teta et al. (2011), however, reviewed this history and reaffirmed Concepción as the correct type locality: "Concepción (27.34° S, 65.59° W), in the Chicligasta Department, Tucumán Province, Argentina".
