Agnès Bos
My PhD was dedicated to Late Gothic churches in Paris and was published in 2003. I then specialised in Decorative Arts from the Late Middle Ages to the 17th century, mostly French decorative arts, with a focus on furniture, tapestries and textiles. I also have a wide range of interests from scientific instruments to history of collections and collecting.
I published the catalogue raisonné of the ebony furniture from the Musée national de la Renaissance in 2006. The catalogue raisonné of the Medieval and Renaissance furniture of the Louvre will be published in October 2019. This will be the first comprehensive research undertaken on a museum collection of Early furniture.
My current research focuses on the Order of the Holy Spirit (Ordre du Saint-Esprit), especially the tangible and intangible expressions of the ceremonies held by this French Royal order of knighthood from the end of the 16th century to the beginning of the 19th century. I will curate a major exhibition at the Louvre in 2022, dedicated to this Order.
