Saheed Ahmad Rufai

Saheed Ahmad Rufai, immediate past Dean of Education, Sokoto State University, Nigeria and Education Consultant with Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), Jeddah, has over 20 years of professional experience in teaching, research and community service. He holds a doctorate in teacher education/curriculum and pedagogy. He acquired professional experience in teacher training and educational research with a focus on Southeast Asia where he earned his doctorate, South Africa where he won a postdoctoral research fellowship, Central Asia where he was a researcher and education consultant, and the Middle East where he worked extensively with stakeholders in developing a  common framework of reference for the teaching, learning and assessment of learning outcomes for Development Education. A university-based curricularist/pedagogue, educational researcher and an accredited education consultant, he has worked with regional and international organizations, including the African Union Commission (AUC) in Addis Ababa, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (Institute of African Culture and International Understanding, IACIU) as well as Arab Diplomatic Missions in Nigeria, research institutes and education organizations in various parts of the world. With special interest in Curriculum, Pedagogy and Assessment/Teacher Education, he has served various universities in the capacity of an External Examiner of doctoral theses. Such universities include the University of Zululand in South Africa, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM),  University of Technology, Malaysia (UiTM).
